As a seasoned professional within the mattress industry, Simba Sleep is a brand that's always on my radar. Being in the business of mattresses, it's hard not to be intrigued by their innovative designs and overall popularity among consumers. The recent offering that caught my eye is the Simba Sleep Hybrid Pro Mattress, boasting a myriad of impressive specifications that warrant a detailed analysis. So, like any good mattress connoisseur would, I took a trip down to our store and got stuck in hmm-ing and ahh-ing over this much-raved-about mattress. Please bear in mind though, while I did have the chance to assess this mattress in-store, it was limited to that environment and did not include a home trial, which could potentially alter my opinion.
There's a delicate balance of support and comfort radiating from the hybrid construction at the core of this piece. The Simba Sleep Hybrid Pro mattress sports a stupendous total of 3,800 dual layer Aerocoil® conical springs, offering a luxurious leap ahead of many competitors in the market. The key element of this mattress that truly enthralls me is the motion isolation capability. The conical spring structure marvellously minimises motion transfer, making it a heavenly match for those who share their bed with a partner. However, as exciting as this feature is, it had me raising an eyebrow about the mattress' overall durability - will this high spring count hold up in the long run or will it deteriorate over time? Only time would tell.
Another significant component in this mattress' architecture that deserves due credit is the Simbatex® foam layer. Weighing 25mm, it wonderfully bolsters the mattress' support system while simultaneously offering a cushiony comfort rarely found in hybrid pieces. This ultra-savvy foam comes with a graphite infusion to increase heat dissipation, ensuring sleepers stay cool even on warmer nights. Though promising, it leaves me speculating whether this technology might give off a chemical odour, as some mattresses tend to do.
There's an environmental angle to this mattress that's certainly appealing. The British wool layer is an ingenious inclusion, acting as a natural thermostat with breathable properties that expertly regulate body temperature while reducing mattress humidity. Yet, I do hold a smidgen of scepticism of it being enough to combat intense summer nights, based on reviews from customers facing such issues.
This mattress proudly strikes a medium to firm comfort choice. Quintessentially, it's ideal for back or side sleepers of average weight, providing a harmonious balance between firm support and cushy comfort. However, having personally tried it and judging from feedback we've received, side sleepers who sport an hourglass figure might find this tension a little too firm, preventing the sinkage vital for spinal alignment. So, if you fall into this category, you might have to look elsewhere.
The Stratos® cool-touch cover treatment adds an extra layer of freshness to your sleep, effectively expelling excessive heat for a cooler slumber. For laundry days, the zip-off top cover is machine washable, ensuring that it stays fresh and clean over time. However, I couldn't help but muse on how the delicate fabric might withstand numerous wash cycles. Furthermore, with the cover being non-removable, I found myself questioning how practical this would be in dealing with potential stains or spills.
Last, but in no way least, the customer reviews have been rather illuminating. Many praised this mattress for its balanced firmness and exceptional motion transfer control, which aligns with my findings from my in-store tests. Notwithstanding, some customers reported not finding the cooling features as effective as advertised, which echoes my sentiments and adds a considerable grain of salt to my overall impression of this mattress.
Ultimately, the Simba Sleep Hybrid Pro mattress is a compelling contender in the mattress market with its smart construction and distinctive features but, like all products, it's not without its potential cons. However, now that you're armed with this in-depth review, you're one step closer to making an informed buying decision. Here's to a good night’s sleep!

Definitely a comfortable option for most sleepers, plus the temperature control is pretty decent. Though it's not the best I've experienced, for the price it's a good compromise.
