About the Sleepeezee Matilda Combination Mattress
Last checked
The Matilda is a memory-foam and pocket-sprung mattress, set at medium, 3 of 5, with individually wrapped springs under a softer comfort build. The specification reads as an honest middle ground. Pocket springs give more independent response than an entry-level open-coil mattress, so the support should compress locally rather than pulling the whole sleep surface down at once, while the memory foam is there to slow the feel and spread pressure through the shoulders and hips. Sleepeezee also flags reinforced edges, a breathable mesh border and a velour cover with a teddy-style finish, which puts the Matilda in the cosier hybrid camp rather than the crisp, cooler-feeling end of the market. The comfort story is stronger than the measurable engineering story: without a stated spring count, foam depth or mattress height, the useful reading is that this is a plush-sided pocket hybrid, not a high-spec technical build in the £700-plus pocket-sprung tier. The edge-support claim is also where the spec needs treating carefully; reinforced borders can improve sitting stability and reduce roll-off, but they do not make a medium memory-foam mattress behave like a firm orthopaedic unit.
The memory foam over pocket springs points most clearly towards side sleepers, especially average-weight people who want cushioning at the shoulder without dropping into a very soft all-foam feel. Happier accounts repeatedly describe a supportive-but-comfortable surface, better sleep than expected and an even temperature, which lines up with the mesh border and the pressure-spreading foam rather than contradicting the spec. Back sleepers can still get on with the medium tension, but those who rely on a firmer surface to keep the pelvis lifted may find the comfort layers too forgiving over time. Lower-scoring accounts raise the same warning from several angles: back pain appearing quickly, visible channels or sagging within weeks, edges collapsing when sat on, and one current return linked to a fault. Heat is another split point, because the breathable border helps airflow around the mattress, while the synthetic memory foam and cosy velour-style cover can still feel warm to people who already overheat. The manufacturer’s edge-support promise is the clearest mismatch with owner experience, as the repeated complaints are about dipping and weak edges rather than roll-off being eliminated. Best suited to average-weight side sleepers wanting a cushioned pocket hybrid. Less good for firm-bed back sleepers, hot sleepers and anyone worried about early body impressions, who would do better with a firmer pocket-sprung hybrid or the £700-plus durability tier.

Comfy enough and feels well made, with a nice mix of soft on top but still supportive for my back. Only annoying bit was the delivery turning up later than they said.
Really enjoyed this mattress, the mix of firmness and softness is perfect. Found myself feeling well-rested and very warm. Well worth the investment for quality sleep.
Very good mattress , maximum comfort. I have had trouble sleeping for years but since this mattress I have slept very well
Very comfortable, very soft mattress. I can see why the king is a patron of this company.
I have only slept on it for 14 nights and the delivery person told me I had 114 nights to decide whether it suited me. So far, so good. I turned it round yesterday (not over) as advised and managed that with no problem. Easy to manage which is important when moving and changing linen. So all I all I am happy but I should be because it was expensive.
Excellent mattress which is a great combination of soft yet supportive
This mattress is SO comfortable. We chose it following the sleep match process in our local Dreams store, narrowing down the number of mattresses to try. We are very happy with our choice
The zip & link bed makes getting a super king easy to get up the stairs. Bit hot and hard for us!
Amazing mattress, everyone has complimented on it !
Brilliant service! Coild not fault from placing the order to having it delivered!
Best mattress I've ever slept in. So happy with this purchase
Really comfortable mattress and good choice for side-sleepers
My new Sleepeezee Matilda mattress has simply transformed my days. I waken refreshed and ready to go rather than before waking sluggish and needing three coffees before I could start the day.
I experienced a wonderful nights sleep on this mattress, it's perfect for me. The Dream's Store in Patchway, Bristol were brilliant and very helpful in helping me choose this mattress. I would highly recommend the store and this mattress.
Excellent comfort post surgery when it was difficult to sleep.
Incredibly soft mattress has given some great nights sleep for the past month. It's a king so really spacious too. Overall very happy with my dreams purchase
The purchase was easy from the start - the data system to help determine which mattress was best for me was very enlightening and useful; the Paddington mattress that data system steered me to is perfect. The mattress was delivered on a date I requested - the day I moved into my new home which is appropriately in Paddington! Very impressed to the point where I've recommended Dreams to others looking for a new mattress.
We absolutely love this mattress and I'm so glad we ordered it. My husband was a bit sceptical but we both agree now that it is perfect and worth every penny. I wish we had ordered it sooner! We both get a good night's sleep, it looks and feels luxurious and little aches and pains we both had have disappeared so I think we've benefitted from the extra firmness and support compared to our old mattress (which was quite soft and old). Ordering from Dreams was really easy and straightforward too. We did visit our local store first where the staff were very helpful and informative, but we didn't feel pressured to make a decision there and then which was nice. I would return to them in the future and recommend to anyone.
Tried lots of mattresses and this one was perfect! So comfy and a great price!
Great mattress , price and service with no more uncomfortable back pain. In all an excellent product from an Dreams.
