About the Silentnight Adventure Natural Kids Mattress
Last checked
Mirapocket springs and British wool put the Silentnight Adventure Natural Kids Pocket Sprung Mattress above the simplest children’s foam pads, with a medium feel, 3 of 5, rather than the very firm slab-like support some kids’ beds use. The spring unit is the important bit: individually responsive pockets should compress around movement, so a child who wriggles is less likely to make the whole surface shift in the way a basic open-coil mattress can. Wool is the more interesting layer here. For a children’s mattress, certified British wool is a generous comfort choice; many lower-priced kids’ mattresses lean on polyester fibre or thin foam, whereas wool brings springy cushioning, moisture handling and natural temperature regulation without needing a memory-foam hug. It should feel cushioned, not sinky. The quilted cover and airflow border add to that breathable brief, while the antibacterial and hypoallergenic positioning is most useful for parents trying to avoid clammy synthetic bedding rather than evidence that the mattress becomes a medical solution. The spec reads as a credible natural-leaning kids’ pocket mattress, not a miniature luxury adult hybrid, and the medium tension means comfort is doing as much work as firmness.
The medium Mirapocket-and-wool build favours children who sleep on their side or move between side and back positions, because the surface has enough give for shoulders and hips without abandoning the steadier spring support underneath. Praise clusters around comfort, support and sleep settling: children are described as sleeping more soundly than on previous mattresses, and one repeated positive is that the mattress feels supportive enough even when an adult joins briefly for bedtime reading. Temperature feedback also lines up with the wool-and-airflow spec, with the surface described as staying comfortable rather than hot, which is exactly where wool has an advantage over cheaper all-foam children’s mattresses. The weaker signal is not a defect pattern, but it is still useful: the cloudier feel is mentioned most strongly when a topper is added, so families expecting a very plush pillow-top sensation from the mattress alone may find the surface more sensibly cushioned than indulgent. There is little in the sample pointing to sagging or poor shape retention; the most restrained feedback still says it has held its shape so far, while stopping short of calling it flawless. It lands best for a child aged 3+ who needs a breathable, natural-feeling side/back sleeper mattress with moderate support. For a heavier older child, or a committed back sleeper who needs a flatter, firmer platform, the better direction is a firmer pocket-sprung kids’ mattress or an entry adult-style pocket-sprung model.

Bought this for my grandchild and its been a nice little upgrade, with a comfy medium feel that doesnt leave them wriggling about half the night. It seems to stay a good temperature and feels a bit more “natural” than the cheap foam ones. The cover has a cheerful look and its held its shape well so far. Not perfect, but a solid buy for the money.
Truly surprised by the comfort and support this mattress offers. It's like sleeping on a cloud, and the antibacterial properties are an added bonus.

This mattress is like a cloud when it is paired with the topper. Our son has slept so well every night since getting it. Better than previous mattresses he has had.
Great quality mattress that provides comfort and support for both my son and I when reading bedtime stories
