Affiliate disclaimer

Last updated: 11 May 2026

This page explains how BedBoy makes money, the affiliate networks and retailers we work with, and the rules we have set ourselves about editorial independence. We have written it so you can decide whether the recommendations on this site are worth your trust.

1. Who we are and what this page covers

BedBoy (www.bedboy.co.uk) is a UK editorial mattress comparison engine. We score and compare mattresses, bed frames, headboards and bedding from major UK retailers under a published scoring rubric. We were founded in 2020 by Giselle and a small editorial team. This page covers how we earn money from the recommendations and outbound links you see on the site.

2. How BedBoy makes money

BedBoy is funded by affiliate commission. If you click an outbound link from one of our product pages or comparison tables and go on to buy something from the retailer, we earn a small fee from the retailer (or from an affiliate network that sits between us and the retailer). You do not pay any more for the product because you came through BedBoy. The retailer pays the fee out of its own marketing budget.

We do not charge brands or retailers for inclusion in the index. We do not run paid advertorials disguised as editorial content. We do not run pay-per-click campaigns where a brand pays us per outbound click regardless of whether you buy.

3. The affiliate networks we use

Most outbound links on BedBoy are tracked by one of three independent affiliate networks. These networks sit between BedBoy and the retailer, attribute the sale, and pay us the commission the retailer has agreed. We use:

  • Awin: UK-based affiliate network that tracks clicks and sales for most of our retailer partners.
  • Affiliate Future: UK-based affiliate network that tracks clicks and sales primarily for Bensons for Beds.
  • Tradedoubler: European affiliate network that tracks clicks and sales for a smaller number of retailers.

Each network sets cookies on your browser when you click an outbound link, so the retailer can attribute the sale back to BedBoy. The cookie duration is set by the retailer, not by us, and is typically between 7 and 45 days. You can read more about these cookies in our cookies policy, and about what data the networks see in our privacy policy.

4. The retailers we partner with

As of the “Last updated” date shown above, BedBoy is enrolled in affiliate programmes with the following UK mattress and bed retailers:

  • Dreams
  • Bensons for Beds
  • Eve Sleep
  • Mattress Online
  • Furniture Village

If a product on BedBoy is sold by a retailer not on this list, the outbound link is unmonetised and we do not earn a commission. We still include those products in our product pages and comparison tables when we think they are worth listing.

5. What being an affiliate does not let a retailer do

Being an affiliate partner does not give a retailer or brand any of the following:

  • No editorial influence. Retailers and brands do not see scores, summaries, pros and cons, or page copy before it goes live. They have no veto, no preview, no right of reply pre-publication, and no right to ask us to remove negative coverage.
  • No paid placement. Products are listed and ranked by our scoring methodology, not by commission rate or retailer relationship.
  • No suppression of competitors. If a non-partner retailer sells the same product at a lower price, we say so.
  • No fixed scoring floor. Partner-retailer products can and do get low scores when they deserve them.

Where a manufacturer has sent us a free sample of a product, that fact is disclosed inside the product page in question.

6. How we mark affiliate links

Outbound links to retailer programmes we earn commission from carry the HTML attributes rel="sponsored nofollow". These tell search engines that the link is part of a commercial relationship. Outbound links to retailers we do not earn commission from carry rel="external nofollow" instead. Either way, the link carries a visible disclosure label and you are leaving BedBoy when you click it.

This labelling, together with the section above naming the networks and retailers we work with, is intended to be compliant with the ASA CAP Code on affiliate disclosure (CAP Code section 2 on recognition of marketing communications) and the Competition and Markets Authority guidance for online endorsements. If you spot a link on BedBoy that you think is not properly disclosed, please email [email protected] and we will fix it.

If you have raised a disclosure concern with us and you are not satisfied with how we responded, you can escalate the complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority at asa.org.uk/make-a-complaint. The ASA enforces the CAP Code on affiliate and influencer marketing and can require us to amend or remove non-compliant content.

7. Pricing and price accuracy

Prices on BedBoy are pulled from retailer feeds and refreshed regularly. Despite our best efforts, the retailer’s own site is always the source of truth at the moment you pay. If a price on BedBoy differs from the price at the retailer, the retailer’s price applies and you should not rely on the BedBoy figure. Promotional pricing, voucher codes, and clearance discounts move fast and may not be reflected on our pages immediately.

8. No medical advice

BedBoy’s editorial content discusses sleep, mattress firmness, back pain, side sleeping, and similar topics. Nothing on this site is medical advice or a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. If you have a specific medical condition that affects how you sleep, please discuss mattress choice with your GP or a physiotherapist before relying on anything you read here.

9. Accuracy and liability

All information on BedBoy is published in good faith, based on the editorial research, scoring rubric and aggregated data we held at the point each page was produced. We do not warrant the completeness, accuracy or currency of any information on the site. To the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for losses arising from your reliance on information published here. Your statutory consumer rights against the retailer you actually buy from are unaffected by this disclaimer.

10. External links

Outbound links on BedBoy point to retailer sites, manufacturer sites, news articles, academic papers and government resources. We do not control the content of those sites. Their privacy policies, terms and content may change without notice. Inclusion of a link is not an endorsement of everything on the destination site.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this page whenever our affiliate arrangements change in a substantive way, for example a new retailer added or removed, a new affiliate network introduced, or a change to our editorial-independence rules. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent substantive change. We do not retroactively re-date the page for typos or cosmetic edits.

12. Contact

If you have a question about how affiliate commission works on BedBoy, email [email protected]. Formal complaints about how we have handled an affiliate-related issue should go to [email protected], per the routing on our contact page.
