About the Dream Team Gold Prescot Combination Mattress
Last checked
Pocket springs, a pressure-relieving memory-foam layer and Dream Team’s Platinum 3D spacer material make the Prescot a combination mattress in the modern hybrid sense, rather than a traditional sprung bed with simple fibre padding. Its stated feel is medium, 3 of 5, although the build choices lean more supportive than plush: pocket springs take the load independently, memory foam slows the surface response, and the 3D layer is there to add airflow and a springy buffer between those two behaviours. This is a credible mid-market recipe. The useful spec call is the Thermoswitch knitted cover, because temperature-reactive covers and breathable spacer layers are more ambitious than the polyester ticking and fibre pads found on basic open-coil mattresses; the reality check is that “million tiny springs” means resilient, recyclable 3D cushioning, not another mechanical spring unit. Memory foam still shapes the sleep feel more than the cover does, so the top should feel cushioned and pressure-spreading rather than bouncy in the way a firmer pocket-and-fibre mattress can. The antibacterial, soft-touch cover adds freshness credentials, but the spring-and-foam pairing does the main comfort work: support from below, slower contouring above, and a surface designed to feel cosseting without being labelled soft.
Average-weight side sleepers are the easiest audience here, especially those who want shoulder and hip cushioning without dropping into a soft mattress; back sleepers can get on with the medium feel, but the repeated firmness complaints mean anyone wanting a forgiving, hotel-plush surface should be cautious. Sleep quality and back comfort are the strongest recurring wins, with couples describing the feel as right for both sides of the bed and several comments placing it favourably against higher-bracket mattresses. The firmness signal is messy. Although the label says medium, the harshest feedback repeatedly says the delivered mattress feels firm to very firm, with back, hip, neck and shoulder pain severe enough to disrupt sleep; that conflict carries more weight than the catalogue wording because it is the clearest negative pattern. Smell also needs flagging: one very critical experience described persistent chemical off-gassing, and a longer happy write-up still needed about 48 hours of airing before the odour faded, so the memory-foam element may need patience after delivery. Temperature-sensitive sleepers get some help from the Thermoswitch cover and breathable 3D layer, but hot sleepers who dislike any memory-foam warmth may still prefer a pocket-sprung build with latex, wool or deeper natural fibres. Best matched to average-build side sleepers and couples wanting cushioned support with a firmer-than-expected edge to the feel; persistent pressure-pain sufferers need comparison with softer hybrids or the £700+ pocket-sprung tier with richer comfort layers.

Medium comfort rating - balances softness and support
A medium comfort rating offers a balanced experience, providing adequate support without being too firm, while still ensuring a gentle, plush feel for relaxation. It caters well to a variety of sleeping positions, making it an adaptable choice for those who desire both comfort and support.
Contouring memory foam - adapts to your unique body shape
The memory foam layer customizes its shape to match the body's contours, ensuring improved support and pressure relief during sleep. This feature enhances comfort by evenly distributing weight, potentially reducing pressure points and alleviating discomfort.
Antibacterial design - keeps your bed clean and fresh
This helps cut down bacteria and odours, so the sleep surface stays fresher between sheet changes. It can help with hygiene and allergies, though it still needs regular washing and airing because it will not stop sweat and skin oils building up.

Feels really comfy and supportive, like you sink in a bit but still stay level. Only annoying thing was the delivery turned up later than they said, but the mattress itself has been solid so far.
The feel of this mattress is encapsulating and plush, offering a good equal balance of comfort and supportive. Memory foam layer does wonders for an aching back. Thus far, it's promoting restful sleep and impression resilience is impressive too.
Had this mattress 2 months, it is comfortable but showed signs of sagging from the first week with a definite ridge down the middle
Excellent mattress, comfiest I've ever had. Great nights sleep and helps with hip pain.
For a medium rated mattress its brilliant and firm and suppoting, brilliant recommendation from sales guy !
Comfortable mattress but have only slept in it 17 days and there is a distinct hump in the middle.
In love with my new mattress!! It is absolutely amazing, i have defintely seen a postive difference in my sleep since having it. I wpuld 100% recommend this mattress, its like your laying on a cloud with the just the right amount of firmness.

Very comfortable mattress, dont let the colour change put you off!
The mattress we have been waiting for
Early days but so comfortable really love it
This bed is amazing. Before we bought it, we had an old mattress so it was a struggle to sleep. When we changed to this mattress we were able to sleep so much better. It is firm (but not too firm) and cool enough so you dont feel sweaty. I would really recommend this mattress.
Fantastic buy. So pleased with the quality and comfort
Mattress is deep with a comfy memory foam topper on the pocket sprung section. Temperature regulation is effective and provides a great night sleep. Back pain has significantly reduced since using this mattress.
Bought to replace an Emma matress that was giving me back pain. Haven't looked back since. Really comfortable and now sleeping soundly!
New mattress purchased to replace a 7 year old one. Couldnt have been a better buy and really improved my sleep
Having not moved house fully yet, my use of the mattress has been few and far between, but I strongly recommend this particular model - not known comfort like it for a med-firm unit. It is very deep, to forewarn potential purchasers, so make sure your bed is suitable to hold it.
Lovely and comfortable, really love the way it takes the heat away from the body . Much better nights sleep.
Delivered on time by friendly staff. No fuss, took away all packing. Matress replaced an old one. So comfortable, l dont want to get up in the mornings, and can't wait to go to bed!
The best mattress I have ever brought, so comfortable. I awake with no backache and a good night's sleep.
