About the Dream Team Maidstone 1000 Pocket Sprung Mattress
Last checked
For sleepers moving away from soft foam sag or a tired old mattress, the Dream Team Maidstone 1000 is a traditional firm pocket-sprung build with a simple job: hold the body up rather than cradle it. It is unambiguously firm. The double-size spring count is listed as 858 individually wrapped pockets, despite the 1000 name, so the support system is more independent than an open-coil unit but not especially dense by current pocket-sprung standards. That is an honest entry-to-mid pocket specification: enough to reduce the roll-together feel associated with linked springs, but short of the £700+ pocket-sprung tier where higher counts, zoning and deeper comfort stacks are more common. The 22cm depth also points to a restrained build, not a thick pillowtop mattress. Traditional tufting locks the fillings down and keeps the surface taut, but it also makes the first feel flatter and firmer rather than plush. The antibacterial damask cover is practical, not a cooling technology. The double-sided construction is the more meaningful durability feature, because turning and rotating gives both faces a chance to recover under load.
Back sleepers, front sleepers and heavier buyers are the clearest fit, especially where a softer mattress has allowed the hips to drop too far or left the lower back unsupported. Owners repeatedly describe better sleep, less dipping than memory foam and less partner drift across the bed, which lines up with the separate pocket springs and firmer, tufted surface. That split matters. The same firmness praised as supportive is also the main recurring complaint: some buyers found it harder than expected, woke aching, or added a topper to make it usable, so side sleepers with sharper shoulders or lighter builds may find the pressure relief limited. One noise complaint appears tied to slats rather than the mattress itself, so it carries less weight than the repeated firmness feedback. Temperature-wise, the lack of memory foam helps those who dislike sweaty, sinking surfaces, and one long-form owner specifically welcomed moving away from that trapped, dipped-in feel; however, the damask-and-filling spec does not make this a specialist hot-sleeper mattress. Couples with similar firmness preferences should get better movement separation than from open-coil mattresses, but partners with very different body weights may feel the uniform firm surface differently. Best suited to firm-mattress loyalists wanting a turnable pocket-sprung bed; less convincing for lightweight side sleepers or anyone seeking cushioned pressure relief, where a softer pocket hybrid or deeper comfort-layer mattress makes more sense.

Firm comfort support rating - feels solid and supportive
A firm comfort support rating indicates a mattress that provides a robust sleep surface, offering substantial support for the spine and pressure points. This level of firmness is particularly well-suited for individuals who prefer a stable and supportive sleeping area, often helpful for those with back pain or those who sleep on their stomach or back.
100 Night Comfort Guarantee - gives you peace of mind when you buy
A 100 Night Comfort Guarantee allows for a trial period where the product can be tested in your own home environment to see if it meets personal comfort standards. If it doesn't meet your expectations, it can be returned for a refund or exchange, offering flexibility and assurance in purchasing decisions.
Antibacterial design - keeps your bed clean and fresh
This helps cut down bacteria and odours, so the sleep surface stays fresher between sheet changes. It can help with hygiene and allergies, though it still needs regular washing and airing because it will not stop sweat and skin oils building up.
Responsive pocket springs - individually wrapped for targeted support
Individually wrapped pocket springs adjust independently to body contours, offering personalized support and reducing motion transfer. This construction enhances comfort by evenly distributing body weight, ensuring restful sleep.
Double-sided design - flip regularly to keep your mattress fresh
Flipping the mattress regularly helps maintain its shape and prolongs its lifespan, ensuring consistent comfort. This feature also assists in distributing wear evenly, which can lead to a more restful sleep experience over time.

Pretty comfy and supportive, though it feels a bit firmer than I expected and I can sometimes notice the springs a tiny bit. Still seems like good value for the money.
Surprisingly comfortable and supportive. Certainly improved my night's sleep.
Needed a new mattress badly and decides to treat myself to another dreams mattress as my last one i purchases from another company and it lasted 5 years. Within a week i was getting better quality sleep. My body felt more supported and when waking up in the morning my lower back (permanently damaged) felt much better (i was able to reduce tge doseage of prescribed pain medication). My IBS has also much improved (not waking up as bloated) which i believe is due to my body being better supported throughout the night. Would highly recommend this mattress. I am a 207lbs male and i havent slept this good in years.
Great mattress 100% I am very happy with my new mattress
Very good product at a very decent price
The Mattress is just how i like it not to hard and not to soft really comfy
This is a firm mattress recommended to be after trying the sleep match machine, it really is firm and therefore as yet after almost 3 weeks I am still aching when I wake up, but I think this may ease in time and possibly a softer topper otherwise it is great
Lovely comfortable mattress.
We tried this mattress for 60 days having not tried it in the store. We then exchanged under the 100 night guarantee as it was too firm for our requirements. I have MS and I was waking up in pain due to the mattress not supporting me as my body needed. Generally the mattress seems okay and would likely suit most people who dont have any issues that require a bit more support. We opted for the Flaxby 4450 in its place, far superior in quality and comfort when we tried it in store and worth the investment for a great nights sleep (fingers crossed)
A great mattress to buy , finally i can have good nights sleep, quality is really good
I got into contact with the showroom at Southport, and they helped me about everything, like a discount, flexible delivery options and a long time to explain the differences between the products.
