About the Dream Team Fowey Pocket Sprung Mattress
Last checked
Side sleepers who want cushioning without sinking into an all-foam slab are the clearest audience for the Dream Team Fowey 1000 Pocket Memory Mattress. It is a medium, 3 of 5 mattress built around 1000 pocket springs with a memory-foam comfort layer, a knitted cover and traditional tufting to hold the fillings under tension. A 1000-count pocket unit with memory foam is honest for a mainstream own-brand hybrid, but it is still a conservative spring count beside the higher-spec pocket-sprung tier, where denser spring packs, zoning or extra comfort layers tend to do more of the pressure-management work. Honest spec for this tier. The pocket springs should respond more independently than an open-coil mattress, so weight is spread with less whole-bed bounce, while the memory foam adds slower, closer pressure relief at the shoulders, hips and knees. The tufting is the practical counterweight to that softness: it helps stop the upper layers drifting, but also gives the surface a slightly held-down, dimpled feel rather than the loose plushness of an untufted pillowtop. The knitted cover supports the cosy brief, though it is not a technical cooling fabric, and memory foam usually feels warmer and less springy than wool, latex or simple fibre padding.
The side-sleeper fit comes through strongly because the medium foam layer gives joints somewhere to settle, and several happy accounts describe better sleep, a soft top over a sturdier base, and comfort that helped sore hips or knees rather than aggravating them. Average-weight sleepers are the safest match here; lighter side sleepers should get enough give from the memory foam, while heavier back sleepers may compress through the comfort layer more quickly and start wanting firmer, more structured support. The feedback is not all comfort-led praise. Less happy accounts centre on support losing conviction early, with weaker edge support and spring feel mentioned as the kind of problems that undermine the reassuring 1000-pocket message; where that happens, the spec’s promise of independent support does not fully match the bedroom experience. Edge support is the weak spot. Couples may still appreciate the pocket-spring layout for reducing partner disturbance compared with open-coil mattresses, but a noticeable perimeter weakness is frustrating for anyone who sleeps close to the side or sits on the edge while getting dressed. Heat-sensitive sleepers should also treat the cosy memory-foam surface as a comfort feature rather than a cooling one. For side sleepers wanting cushioned medium support at a mainstream hybrid level, this works; for heavier back sleepers, hot sleepers or anyone worried about early edge sag, a firmer £700-plus pocket-sprung hybrid with stronger perimeter construction makes more sense.

Felt the support it promises and loved the cosy, knitted cover. Gentle on the back, suitable for side sleepers like me.
Really pleased with this purchase
Best I have slept in a while Good quality material and feel Nice deep mattress
My son who is 14, totally outgrew his double bed so we needed something more suitable for his ongoing growth. My son tried out this King Size mattress in our local Dreams store, because you just dont get to try the quality, when you purchase online. He loved the comfort and support this mattress provided. Hes now been sleeping soundly and wake up feeling refreshed. Highly recommend this mattress. It has a layer of memory foam, yet not as expensive as a full memory foam mattress- so its more budget friendly.
Bought this 3 weeks ago, great product and excellent customer service.
Lovely product and very comfy
My daughter needed a new bed. We visited dreams and were met by a very nice young man who was helpful in is choosing the correct bedframe. We returned a few days later to choose a mattress, this time we were greeted by someone else who helped us choose the correct mattress. We now have a daughter who is getting a great nights sleep. The cats have also found the new bed and also agree it is a great bed.
I was pleasantly surprised on the weight of the Fowey mattress as felt really light for a deep mattress. the look of the mattress is really good as well ,with its stylish handles stitched with the Olympic theme the top had a luxury look & feel to it. my wife suffers with rheumatoid arthritis so wasn't sure if she would get on with the new mattress but after the second night of sleeping on it she said her hips already felt better & that she loved it so win, win, as they say happy wife ,happy life, I myself also found the mattress very comfortable, and supportive. so all in all a very good mattress for the price bracket it is & i would rate this mattress to friends & colleagues.
