About the Simba Sleep Earth Apex Mattress
Last checked
This is aimed at shoppers who want a premium-feeling hybrid without moving into an all-foam, slow-sinking mattress. Simba’s Earth Apex sits as a natural-material hybrid with a medium-firm, 4 out of 5 feel, so the comfort promise is support first, cushioning second. The firmness is the headline here. The honest read is a materials-led premium hybrid: wool and breathable fibres do more to define the surface feel than a headline spring-count story, placing it closer to the natural-hybrid tier than to standard memory-foam hybrids. That is a useful distinction, because wool tends to give a drier, more temperature-balanced contact layer than dense foam, while the hybrid core is there to hold the body level rather than let the hips drop deeply. The build also sounds physically substantial in real homes, with more than one account flagging extra depth and a higher sleeping position compared with an older mattress; that adds a sense of solidity, but it also means deeper sheets and harder handling can become part of ownership. On paper, the medium-firm tension is well judged for back sleeping and broad side-sleeping comfort, though it is not the plush, high-sink feel some curvier side sleepers look for.
The wool-and-hybrid combination gives the clearest fit to average-weight back sleepers, combination sleepers and couples who want a steadier, cooler surface than older memory foam. Happier accounts repeatedly describe the mattress as supportive without feeling hard, with less tossing, fewer stiffness complaints and noticeably better temperature control; one partner-disturbance theme also lines up with the hybrid brief, as several sleepers mention being less bothered by movement from the other side of the bed. Side sleepers can do well on this tension if their shoulders and hips do not need much extra give, but one detailed return linked discomfort to the raised surface pattern rather than the firmness alone, which is a useful warning where spinal sensitivity or a preference for a flat orthopaedic top is involved. Delivery is the real risk. Multiple low-scoring accounts focus not on the mattress feel but on failed or delayed delivery, poor communication, refund frustration and confusion around access, with one case specifically involving difficulty getting a king size upstairs; the heavy, deep build praised by satisfied buyers is also the same trait that makes awkward staircases less forgiving. For average-weight back sleepers and side sleepers wanting a breathable natural hybrid with good partner stability, this is the right call. For pronounced-curve side sleepers needing deeper pressure relief, or homes with difficult delivery access, look at softer natural hybrids or flatter-topped pocket-sprung mattresses instead.
Pros and Cons

If I actually got the mattress
I really enjoyed sleeping on this mattress and all natural materials used for this mattress. It really improved my sleep experience. What the shame it was not for us and we need to return it as of my wife's back issue. We was thinking that the medium firm should be alright for her but unfortunately the convex pattern of the mattress we slept on caused significant discomfort for her spine. As we can see now, we need a mattress with a flat orthopedic pattern or no pattern at all in for the future.
The matrass is great quality!!!! Previously we had hybrid with a different brand, we had to return it, this matrass is firm and give the best night of sleep!!!il Both, my husband and I did not want to get out of bed the first night. It has a higher thant usually base and you feel higher of the ground, which is not bad if you have bad hips. It has cooloing element and is made with sheep wool and it is more breathable and keeps you cool at night. If you suffer with perimenopause and night sweats this is perfect matrass for you. Its a very heavy matrass and you'll need good muscles to get it upstairs.
This is the best of mattress l ever use , l sleep comfortably no pain my body relax since l had started using this mattress.
After years of searching for the "Goldilocks" balance between cloud-like comfort and structural integrity, the Simba Natural Hybrid Apex Mattress feels like the definitive end of the quest. From the moment you touch it, the luxurious cover sets a premium tone; it isn't just a functional layer, but a tactile, high-end fabric that feels breathable and incredibly soft to the touch. It gives the mattress an immediate "boutique hotel" aesthetic before you even lay down. The true magic, however, lies in the internal architecture. The very top layer offers a delicate, plush softness that contours to the body instantly, relieving pressure points without that "sinking into quicksand" feeling. Yet, almost paradoxically, there is a deep, unwavering support underneath. It manages to cradle your shoulders and hips while keeping your spine perfectly aligned. For anyone who has spent years toggling between mattresses that were either too firm and "board-like" or too soft and unsupportive, the Apex provides that elusive, high-performance equilibrium right from the first night.
A mattress takes time before you truly understand whether or not it is making a difference, but what I can tell you after a week with the Simba Natural Hybrid Apex Mattress is that I am sleeping more deeply than I have in months and my hip pain is starting to ease. Now, this could be coincidence, but over the past year I have tried a number of things (pillows between my legs, mattress toppers etc) to remedy my lack of sleep and aching hips in the morning, but so far, this mattress, and it is too soon to tell, is doing something. If it continues on this path, then I will definitely gig the mattress 5 stars.
Absolutely wonderful. As an osteopath who spends her time preaching to her patients about getting a decent mattress, I now know exactly which one I'll be recommending. Not only has my neck pain and back pain improved significantly, but it's SO cosy and comfortable. My allergies have also reduced dramatically! I look forward to going to bed at night. Quick delivery (collection not necessary) and a worthwhile investment. Underneath the mattress is firm and looks modern
We decided to invest in upgrading our mattress to the best we could afford. It's important to us to have all natural materials and not be sleeping on plastic / manmade fibres, but this is not easy to find. There are other 'luxury' brands who use natural materials but they didn't have such good reviews as Simba so we took the plunge. Our old mattress was actually really good, just old, so we would have been happy with something at least as good as that. We were so wrong!!! The Simba Earth Apex makes me wonder how I even slept on our previous mattress... It is leagues above. The quality and craftsmanship is superb and it is so, so, so, comfortable. I sleep on my front, back, and side and it's 10/10 comfy in all positions. It feels like sinking into a cloud when you get in, yet it's also extremely supportive (we prefer a firmer mattress). We went for the super king and have absolutely no regrets. If you can afford it, go for it! You won't regret the investment.
We've been using this mattress for about a month and we're very happy with it so far. It's supportive and comfortable and going to a super-king from a standard king has given us both noticeably more space to move around without disturbing the other sleeper. It has sunk slightly around where we lie where the natural fibres have compressed, but this is to be expected and completely normal. To me, it is quite firm for sleeping on my side. I do sometimes wake feeling a bit achy but back or front sleeping is very comfortable. I also sleep quite hot and while it's a noticeable improvement over my previous memory foam mattress, I wonder if the standard Simba mattress with it's modern tech might be better for me than the hybrid version. We'll give it a couple more months to decide if it's the right mattress for us, but at least with Simba's 200 night trial I have piece of mind that we could return it if we so wished. However, I would definitely choose a different Simba mattress if we did.
Best quality mattress I've ever had. Big improvement in sleep quality!
As someone who usually wakes up constantly throughout the night, this mattress has been amazing for my sleep quality. Not only am I waking up less frequently in the night, I'm more comfortable and feel warmer in colder weather without having to turn the heating on. The mattress has improved my sleeping pattern so much I can barely believe it. It's much easier to get up in the morning because I'm refreshed from a good night's sleep. To me, the mattress feels medium-soft. I haven't noticed any sagging yet. Wish I'd discovered this mattress sooner!
Wow what a difference this has made to my life. Bought the top of the range with natural fibres. Gorgeous sumptuous luxury. Sack and direction is improved and I'm sleeping better than before. Thanks Simba.
Mattress feels luxurious, very deep so make sure you get deep fitted sheets. Medium firm good for my side sleeping. Great that the materials are recyclable. Would recommend but only slept on it for two weeks.
We've tried many mattresses in the past. This is definitely the comfiest with no back pain the next day on waking. There was an issue with the delivery which was sorted immediately. Would definitely recommend
Really enjoyed having a natural wool as a change. It's firm but not painful because of the plush cushioning, changed my sleep game
I bought a simba Apex as I have lumber cervical and thoracic disc generation and I had read that this particular mattress was good in helping support backs. I am very pleased to say that it does just that and the quality of my sleep has dramatically improved after only a few weeks
More comfortable than I expected and beautifully crafted… Delivery was great and so far no complaints with our quality of sleep. . even our english bulldog approves with with very snorry nights.
There were minor issues with the finish of the first mattress delivered. Simba immediately offered to rectify this and arranged to deliver a replacement. The first night's sleep was a bit difficult for my partner but I slept like a log! We are now both having the most luxurious sleep on our lovely Eco friendly mattress - it feels very soft on the surface - fresh and natural without the heat of foam. We are very happy indeed with the service, delivery and quality of our luxurious mattress and super pleased with its eco credentials. We can now sleep soundly in more ways than one. eco
I received my new mattress on Sat 11 th Jan , for the first time in a long time I slept so well I woke in the morning feeling refreshed and actually slept an hour longer than normal I'm thrilled with my new mattress and will recommend to others
We had a really expensive branded king size mattress for a year and we never got on with it, but when I got pregnant I couldn't bear sleeping on it and resorted to the sofa for the first 3 months! Cue the Simba Earth mattress- FINALLY we are back in one bed, sleeping together and we both get a really good night sleep, even in this hot weather. A miracle! I normally sleep on my tummy and my husband on his back, but due to pregnancy I have had to change to the recommended side sleeping. I can honestly say I fall asleep easily on the mattress, in spite of being in a different sleeping position.
