About the Staples Revitalise Eco Latex Pocket 3800 Mattress

Last checked

The Staples Revitalise Eco Latex Pocket 3800 is a pocket-sprung latex mattress with a medium feel, 3 of 5, so its headline is not hard orthopaedic support but a more adaptable mix of lift and give. The 3800 spring figure reads as a premium-tier count, yet the practical value depends on how those pockets are stacked and distributed: a multi-layer pocket build can add responsiveness and cushioning, but it is not the same as 3800 full-height springs each acting directly under the sleeper. Honest context for the price tier. Latex is the more interesting comfort choice here, because it usually gives a springier, less slow-sinking surface than memory foam and tends to suit people who dislike being held in a warm foam cradle. At the £1000-plus pocket-sprung tier, latex over pockets is a stronger material story than polyester-only padding, although the medium tension means it will still prioritise pressure relief over the locked-down feel of firmer traditional pocket mattresses. For side sleeping, that balance makes sense: shoulders and hips need some travel before the spring unit firms up underneath.

Side sleepers of average build are the clearest match, and the positive feedback lines up with the spec: happier accounts describe a comfortable, cushioned mattress that feels neither too soft nor too hard, with repeated mentions of easier nights and reduced shoulder discomfort. Back sleepers around average weight may still get on with it, but the medium tension gives less bracing through the centre line than a firmer pocket-sprung model, so anyone already prone to lumbar dipping needs caution. Partner movement is the weak spot. Multiple low-scoring accounts describe visible dips, hammock-like hollows, rolling towards the middle and disturbed sleep when sharing, which conflicts with the reassurance implied by a 3800-pocket headline and matters most for couples with a weight difference. Recent positive accounts also flag the mattress as tall, which some liked for a higher bed height, while shorter sleepers may find the climb less convenient. Latex should help breathability compared with memory-foam hybrids, but durability and partner disturbance dominate the risk profile here. This suits average-weight side sleepers buying for pressure relief and a buoyant latex feel; those prioritising long-term shape retention, low motion transfer or firmer back support should look instead at the firmer £1000-plus pocket-sprung tier.

Specifications

Manufacturer specifications without the jargon, easy to scan and compare.

Pro-Bio Allergen protection – 100% natural fabric treatment protects against bacteria, fungi and dust-mite allergies.

Cover treatment discourages microbes and dust mites settling on the sleep surface, because fewer triggers beside your face may ease nights for sensitive sleepers. It won't replace regular airing, vacuuming or washing any removable covers.

10-year Guarantee – for peace of mind.

Paperwork gives you a route to claim when stitching or springs fail under normal home use, reducing the chance of paying again for an early defect. Stains and accidental damage usually sit outside that cover.

Easy-care mattress – no turning required, simply rotate regularly in line with mattress care guide recommendations.

Single-sided construction keeps the sleeping surface facing upwards, sparing you the awkward flip and making routine bed care easier in tighter rooms. Regular rotation helps stop one end wearing faster.

Posture Perimeter Plus Support System – featuring two rows of extra firm wire outer side pocket springs providing edge to edge support for a full sleeping surface.

Firmer border springs keep the sides from sagging under you. They can leave the rim feeling harder than the centre, though, and won't stop a soft comfort layer dipping under sharp pressure.

Pillowtop – for additional luxurious comfort.

Quilted top pad sits above the main mattress surface, giving hips or ribs a softer first contact before the firmer layers respond. Extra padding can hold heat, then flatten with long use.

Tencel™ Fabric – produced using environmentally responsible processes, Tencel™ helps to provide enhanced breathability, efficient moisture absorption, natural FR protection and anti-allergy protection.

Wood-pulp fibres in the cover pull dampness away from your sheet, leaving the surface less clammy on warm nights. Very sensitive sleepers should check the full cover and filling details.

ecoAir foam layer – designed to be ultra-responsive and supportive, whilst being eco-conscious and breathable. The ecoAir foam layer helps to regulate your body temperature and is 30x more breathable than memory foam.

Air can pass through the foam, keeping the surface less clammy. Because air movement doesn't remove body heat, very warm sleepers may be better served by wool or cotton-rich fillings.

Temperature+ fabric treatment – helps to keep you at an optimal temperature throughout the night by regulating moisture transport from and to the skin’s surface.

Moisture can move through the treated cover, leaving skin feeling less clammy. It won't cool the mattress on its own, and heavy duvets or a warm room can overwhelm the effect.

Balance Latex – helps to improve blood circulation and physical recovery during the night and helping to provide advanced body support and even pressure distribution, while maintaining a healthy microclimate that is antibacterial and antifungal.

Latex flexes under shoulders and hips, letting those points sink a little while the surrounding surface keeps you from feeling stuck. A faint rubber smell can linger at first.

Superloft enhanced quilting technology – designed to absorb pressure from the sleeper and resume its original shape to ensure a long-lasting superb level of comfort.

Quilted top padding squashes under shoulders and hips, giving a softer first contact before the support layers take over. It may settle faster where you always sleep.

When you are in tour bed for an average of 8 hours a night the money spent in a mattress is so important. We were able to take our time and try many mattresses until.we found the right one for us. We were helped by using the sleep app.

OMG.....WHERE DO I START THIS HAS TO BE THE MOST COMFORTABLE MATTRESS WE HAVE EVER SLEPT ON. FORGET ALL THESE MATTRESS IN A BOX NONSENSE, MAKE THE MOVE BACK TO POCKET SPRINGS & YOU WILL NEVER LOOK BACK. HOWEVER POINT TO NOTE : THE MATTRESS REQUIRES A 40CM MATTRESS PROTECTOR & FITTED SHEETS & THESE ARE NOT EASILY AVAILABLE NOR DO THEY COME IN THE MULTITUDE OF COULOURS THAT YOUR EXISTING BED HAS. WE ALSO INVESTED IN A NEW OTTOMAN BASE BUT DID NOT REALIZE HOW THE OVERALL HEIGHT WOULD BE ONCE THE 2 PARTS CAME TOGETHER.

This is an exceptionally comfortable mattress. It is light enough to turn easily and has handles each side to make this an easier task. When considering purchasing this item, one should remember that it needs deep fitted sheets.
