    • “So, I haven't had this long enough to say whether it will improve my sleep permanently, however the signs are looking good! Bought the Super King, and boy, this is a big and heavy mattress! The matress felt too hot on our first night but it is only after this that we realised this was probably residual heat from it being wrapped in plastic prior to delivery. About the Simba Sleep Earth Escape Mattress

Last checked

Buyers drawn to the Simba Sleep Earth Escape are being pointed toward a natural-material hybrid mattress with a controlled feel, not a sink-in foam bed. Its meaningful comfort signal is the tension: medium-firm, 4 out of 5, which normally puts the mattress in the safer middle ground for back sleeping and average-weight side sleeping, but not in the plush bracket that lets shoulders sink freely. The medium-firm setting is the main clue. In practical terms, this kind of feel asks the support system to keep the pelvis level under load while the surface padding does enough pressure relief to stop the bed feeling boardy; that is a more controlled brief than the slow, body-hugging compression sold by softer memory-foam hybrids. The natural-fibre positioning is the more distinctive part of the proposition. Wool and similarly breathable fills tend to feel springier and drier than synthetic foam comfort pads, so the Escape’s comfort story is less about contouring and more about cushioning with temperature control. That is an honest trade-off for a medium-firm natural build: supportive and breathable first, indulgently squashy second.

Average-weight back sleepers, and side sleepers without very pronounced shoulder-to-waist curves, are the clearest fit because the medium-firm feel matches the strongest owner sentiment: less morning aching, better unbroken sleep and a surface that feels comfortable early on. Multiple accounts also describe useful couple behaviour, with partner movement staying on the other side of the bed and no obvious roll-together, which lines up with a firmer hybrid feel rather than a soft foam basin. Temperature is a genuine praise theme, not just a materials claim: warmer sleepers mention fewer overheating episodes, and allergy-sensitive buyers liked the absence of a chemical smell, instead noticing a wool or natural-fibre scent. Firmness is where the label and the poorer comfort feedback part company, with one detailed side-sleeper account finding it closer to firm than medium-firm and linking the first nights to shoulder and hip stiffness. Delivery is the weak spot. The lowest-scoring accounts repeatedly centre on missed delivery dates, late cancellations and unhelpful support, while even positive accounts flag the mattress as heavy, with a super-king needing several people to manoeuvre upstairs. The Earth Escape suits average-weight back sleepers, mixed-position couples and hot sleepers wanting a steadier natural-fibre hybrid; those prioritising soft shoulder sinkage should look instead at softer memory-foam hybrids.

Comfort choice – Medium to Firm

Medium to Firm indicates a balanced feel that supports the body while maintaining some softness without sacrificing sturdiness. This level of firmness suits those who prefer a supportive yet slightly cushioned sleeping surface, which can alleviate pressure points.

3800 Dual layer Aerocoil® conical springs – for superior personalised, contoured pressure relief and support. These 2 layers of conical shaped springs aid air flow, for a cooler nights sleep, and limit the transfer of movement to help minimise partner disturbance

Small tapered springs compress separately under weight, letting heavier areas sink further while air can pass through the gaps and a partner's movement travels less across the bed. Very restless couples may notice movement on a shared mattress.

CoreMAX™ Sprung Base containing 1000 pocket springs – seven support zones of springs provide additional support where it's needed the most, and optimises the sleep surface all the way to the edge of the mattress

Pocketed coils under the mattress move on their own, sharing your weight across the base, and the outer edge is less prone to sag when you lie close to it. Repeated edge pressure will wear that firmer border faster.

Viscose damask cover – with invisible tufting for a soft, smooth, breathable and durable sleeping surface

Stitching hidden below the top fabric keeps the sheet-facing panel flatter, while the woven cloth lets warm moisture escape before the bed turns clammy. A protector is sensible, since body oils can mark the fabric.

Free 10 Year Guarantee – for peace of mind

Fault cover gives you a route to repair or replacement if manufacturing defects appear after delivery, reducing the risk of paying again for the same issue. Every claim will need the seller's terms to back it.

Designed in the UK

Home-market planning usually shapes the sizing, fire labels and base compatibility, helping the mattress fit familiar rooms and frames. Manufacture, materials and aftercare may come from elsewhere.

Hampshire British wool layers – fully traceable and naturally sustainable breathable wool fibres help to regulate body temperature, reduce humidity and provide durable support

Wool fibres absorb moisture vapour and let excess heat escape, reducing that clammy build-up during warm nights or under thick duvets. Compressed wool may settle in the areas used most.

British Wool layers – luxuriously soft comfort and support, naturally breathable and durable too. Helps you sleep warmer in Winter and cooler in Summer

Wool fibres trap air, move moisture and keep the surface less clammy in warm weather, then less chilly once the room drops. Wool can compress over time, and airing lets it recover.

British Wool stability layers – two additional layers of wool are included to help provide increased breathability throughout the mattress and give added support

Wool pads can wick moisture and steady the surface. They may add a firmer top than plain foam, though anyone avoiding animal fibres or seeking deep sink should look elsewhere.

Mattress height – 30cm

Deep sides raise the sleep surface, making the bed look fuller and easier to climb onto with a compatible base. Standard fitted sheets may pull tight at the corners.

I bought this mattress as a Christmas present for my husband, who has always struggled with sleep, and it has made a difference. He's sleeping better, which is what matters to me. The feel of the Natural Hybrid® Escape is exceptional, with that luxurious softness and support you'd expect from a top five-star hotel. It has elevated our nights, and we are very happy.

Been struggling with sleep for years now and finally rested with my new mattress and pillows. Feel super luxurious going to bed now. I will say I also got a duvet and find myself a little cold with it but otherwise very content. The mattress is firm but comfortable and in the last few weeks falling asleep almost instantly

Having procrastinated for so long about getting a new mattress I can't believe we waited so long. The earth escape mattress feels like a cloud but at the same time firm and supportive. Hopefully it will continue to feel like this as the months go on!

Super comfortable. Great if you like a firm mattress. The outer edges do sink down more than expected so be aware of that if sitting on edge of bed. Helped with back pain straight away. Wanted to change from a double to a king size and was no problem whatsoever. Easy exchange process. Very happy with product and the monthly payment option is perfect for us. Great delivery process. Well informed throughout. I was under the impression they take away the packaging but didn't so had to dispose of ourselves with regular bin collections.
