About the Alexa Single Sofa Bed
Last checked
For households trying to add a guest bed without giving up a home office, the Alexa sits in the compact upholstered sofa-bed camp rather than the proper bedstead camp. Its day job is seating. The key structural detail is the conversion: the legs are fitted during self-assembly, with two stored inside the back, and several purchasers describe the change from seat to bed as quick rather than fiddly. Fabric and colour draw repeated praise, which puts the style register closer to tidy occasional-room furniture than to a metal guest bed or bare futon frame. A self-assembly sofa bed of this sort is an occasional-use construction class, not a slatted bedstead with a separate mattress; the hidden-leg arrangement is a neat space-saving touch, but it also means the sleeping platform is integral to the furniture and cannot be upgraded in the same way as a conventional frame. Assembly sounds manageable for one person in at least one recent experience, although another buyer was caught out by having to assemble it at all, so the delivery experience is not the same as receiving a ready-to-use divan.
Best matched to occasional guests, light adult use and rooms where the seat appearance matters most, it earns its strongest praise when used as a spare-room or home-office sofa that only sometimes becomes a bed. Ease of opening is a clear win. Comfort feedback is sharply split: satisfied owners tend to call it firm, sturdy and comfortable enough for short stays, often helped by a topper or extra cushions, while the weakest experiences describe a very uncomfortable night’s sleep and a poorly padded middle section causing back pain. That split is important because the product’s neat spare-room brief does not automatically translate into dependable sleep comfort for every adult body, especially where the bed will be used without extra cushioning. The self-assembly point also keeps appearing, not usually as a build-quality fault but as an expectation problem when the task was not made clear before delivery. It lands best in a home office, box room or occasional guest space where style, quick conversion and compactness carry more weight than mattress-like comfort; for regular adult sleep, or for anyone with a sensitive back, the safer search is a dedicated bed frame with a separate mattress or a higher-tier pull-out sofa bed with thicker cushioning.

Lovely sofa bed. East to unpack and fit the legs on my own. Dimensions as advertised. Fits lovely in my spare room. Would definitely recommend
Looks stylish when not in use. Easy to open. Comfortable and sturdy.
Great product again but wasn't made aware of self Assembly.
Great colour match for my home office. Stylish finish. It's very firm to sit on/or lie on. So a mattress topper might be a good idea when using it as a bed. Big comfy cushions would also help. But it's a great size, easy to convert from sofa to bed and fairly easy to assemble. The diagram and online video make it very clear and the man who sold me the sofa in the shop also demonstrated. It's handy to know that 2 of the legs are concealed in the back of the sofa and how to take them out and push them back. Easier to view than explain. But all in all, a very clever design.
Beautiful sofa bed , comfortable and very stylish. Very easy to assemble.
Perfect solution for our dilemma..great delivery….good value for money
Very well made, beautiful material, it is a very comfortable firm sofabed
Ease of purchasing, timely communications regarding delivery. Delivery guys very helpful. Sofa looks good , happy with purchase.
We needed a guest bed to squeeze into the bedroom I use as a study. We didn't want to spend a fortune,. and this one was the right size at the right price. Easy enough to assemble, and the mechanism works well enough. The fabric does look a little cheap (ours is metallic grey), but you gets what you pays for. It's not been tried by guests yet...
Velvet is super slidy to sit on!! Wish we'd gone for the non velvet now but the colour is beaut. It's hard but all of these are.
I am pleased with my sofa bed. Have ot actually used it yet though. I have it as a guest bed.
Very comfortable to sit and sleep on does not require a large space.
Thanks for your time and help advertise the softer bed is just right
We tried this out in our local store and then bought it and asked for it to be delivered to our daughter's house. We had been sleeping on a very uncomfortable sofa bed at her house and this one is nice and firm and very comfy. It also a full double size at 4ft 6in which makes a lot of difference to a good nights sleep. Unfolding and folding is quick and easy and it looks nice in their home office when not in use.
Nice product - comfortable sofa and just the right size for us. Haven't tried it as a bed - which will be seldom. Disappointed that when it was delivered, it was left to us to unpack it and inspect it.
Very comfortable and ideal for when you have friends over. Very happy with purchase
Nice and strong chair easy to turn into a bed we are very satisfied with it been used a few times this Christmas ,
The sofa bed was voted as super comfy, and was so easy to set up. It also looks smart and is easy to so easy to convert back to a chair… or a lounger.
This is a sturdy and attractive chair. However, as a bed, it is extremely firm. My son called it 'the tombstone'. I am in the process of searching for a mattress to put on top to make it usable. Even my granddaughter, aged 6 was unable to sleep on it.
Just what I wanted for the spare room . Well made , not too hard and nice fabric. Will probably need a bit of extra padding if slept on but otherwise spot on !
