About the Tribeca Wooden Ottoman Bed Frame
Last checked
Bedroom clutter is the Tribeca’s main argument: it is a wooden-effect ottoman bed frame with end-lift storage, a low foot end and a warm mid-tone oak foil finish rather than exposed solid oak. The useful bit is the lift-up base. A foil-faced wooden ottoman with sprung slats is a mid-market storage-frame recipe rather than a solid-oak furniture build; compared with drawer divans, the end-lift cavity gives broader access to bedding and seasonal clothes, but it depends more heavily on hinge alignment, gas-lift behaviour and the quality of the base boards underneath. The sprung slatted base is comfort-biased and more forgiving than a flat platform, so it suits a standard mattress that can tolerate a little flex under load, while the chunky headboard and bordered panels push the style towards rustic-modern rather than plain utility. The low foot end is a sensible design choice for smaller rooms because it keeps the sightline open, though the bed is still an ottoman frame with large boxed components rather than a light metal bedstead. One customer mentioned a 55kg box during delivery, which gives a fair sense of the handling involved even before assembly begins.
The oak-foil finish is where expectations split. Praise tends to focus on the same things the spec promises: the bed looks warm and grown-up, feels sturdy once assembled, and the hidden storage is repeatedly liked in rooms where a chest of drawers or spare bedding pile would otherwise take over the floor. The finish divides opinion sharply. The strongest complaint is not that Dreams describes it as oak foil on the specification, but that some buyers expected solid wood and felt the laminated or paper-faced construction looked much cheaper up close, especially when panels arrived damaged, peeling or marked with glue. Assembly is the other weak point: criticism centres on unclear screw guidance, parts not matching diagrams cleanly, missing components, misaligned headboard or footboard sections, and gas-lift hardware that could feel rigid rather than smooth. Under-bed storage also disappoints some who expected a deep, clean box; thin lower panels, gaps and a reported shallow usable depth make it better for spare sheets than bulky luggage. It lands well for a style-led main bedroom or adult child’s room where concealed bedding storage matters more than traditional joinery; anyone wanting repairable solid timber, very deep ottoman capacity or fuss-free build quality should move toward solid-wood bedsteads or a higher storage-bed tier.

Really pleased with the sturdy construction and love the ample storage space. The modern design gives my bedroom an upgraded look.
Great sturdy bed with plenty under storage
Great bed frame, excellent quality, great service for assembly, great in store service to help decide on the right bed frame
Bought this lovely bed with Ashbourne 2000 Pocket Wool Mattress (Small double) for my very tall teenage son. Pretty straight forward assembling. Stylish with lots of space underneath. My Son is very happy.
I love this bed. It has a wonderful aesthetic, well built, and great storage underneath.
Easy to install, high quality materials, feels as solid and sturdy as you'd want. Looks great too.
Absolutely amazing! Definitely recommend
A very nice wooden bed, loads of space underneath
Great solid bed, very sturdy and the underbed storage is good and the floorboards are strong.
Looks nice, construction is poor. It is made of MDF and is very soft. It is too easy to damage. Its not going to look good for long
This bed is beautiful the wood is simply stunning and would go lovely with any bedroom decor, is it sturdy and well priced, the storage underneath is a big bonus as i dont have alot of room, the guys at dreams built the bed in no time at all it would of took me days, i really think i made the best choice.
Very smart looking bed but the best bit is the storage space … Wow its so much full space .. love it
Amazing bed, pictures dont do it justice! It looks perfect in my bedroom and the storage is so helpful!
I am exceptionally pleased with my ottoman bed base, not only does it look really stylish there is an immense space underneath to store my shoe and handbag collection. Really easy to pull up to access and to close.
Love amazing looking bed.
Stylish & great storage for a bedroom with limited space.
This bed is definitely a huge upgrade to the single bed we had before. Bought for my adult son as a well overdue new double bed, we choose the Tribeca Wooden Ottoman for its modern traditional, design with space saving storage accessed via pulling up the bed frame mattress. This really is fantastic ! My son loves it along with the matching locker. It as not the cheapest bed frame nor was the mattress I chose, but considering the last bed Id bought for my son was 17 years ago, it felt appropriate to choose a bed for aesthetic design and comfort.
Quality and comfortable. Plenty of storage space with an easy to lift top. A very good purchase.
Great bed, easier and safer to assemble with 2 people so get help if DIY inclined. My only negative was the very long wait time between order and delivery.
A beautiful looking frame, but because of ot being wood we've noticed a couple of nicks in the wood (1- underneath the bed on one of the edges of the floor panel and 2- on one bottom corner where a screw has pushed through, slightly pushing the edge of the wooden corner outwards
