About the Slumberland Naturals Premium Wool Mattress
Last checked
For sleepers choosing this for posture control rather than plush sink, the main signal is its tension. The Slumberland Naturals Premium Wool Mattress is firm, 5 of 5, so the surface is set up to resist compression rather than cradle shoulders and hips. That is a decisive spec. The wool-led Naturals positioning points to a more traditional comfort feel than standard memory foam: warmer, drier-feeling and less slow-moving, but also less forgiving when the tension is pushed to the top end. A firm natural-fill mattress is an honest, conservative proposition; compared with softer pillow-top hybrids, it is leaning on resistance and surface stability rather than deep cushioning to make the bed feel premium. That gives it a clear identity, but it also narrows the audience. The “premium wool” label should not be read as hotel-soft luxury, because the customer-facing firmness rating tells a different story: this is built for a flatter sleeping plane, with comfort coming from steadiness and natural padding rather than from pronounced body-contouring.
Back sleeping is where the specification makes most sense, especially for people who dislike the enveloping feel of memory foam and want the pelvis held level. Happier owners describe it as comfortable, supportive, well made, good value and warm, with several accounts linking the firm support to fewer back niggles or a more settled night. Side sleepers are the risk group. The same firmness that helps a back sleeper can press hard into hips, shoulders and knees, and multiple low-scoring accounts describe numbness, pins and needles or a floor-like feel after delivery. A recurring complaint is inconsistency between the mattress tried on a retail display and the one delivered, with some saying it arrived far harder, while others describe early dipping, a middle roll-in effect, uneven height or edges that collapse when sat on. One detailed account also mentions squeaking within the first month, but the stronger repeated pattern is comfort mismatch and early shape concerns rather than noise. Heat-wise, the wool association and warm owner feedback suit those who prefer a cosy, natural-feeling surface; hot sleepers who already overheat may prefer a cooler foam-free pocket-sprung design with more explicit ventilation features. The Slumberland suits committed back sleepers wanting a warm, firm, wool-led feel; those prioritising side-sleeper pressure relief or stronger edge stability should look instead at softer pocket-sprung or latex-comfort hybrids.

An exceedingly comfortable bed. One of the best single beds we have ever tried. The delivery and set up service was first class.
Very comfortable and would recommend it. Light enough to turn it single handed.
Lovely quality mattress for our 8 year old son who absolutely loves it! Fantastic service by Bensons from purchase to delivery.
The most comfortable nights sleep. Actual edge support and anti-roll, no rolling together or bothering your partner when turning over. The highest quality mattress I've ever purchased and I won't go back, more then happy with my purchase, wish I'd done it sooner. Experience through and through, fantastic, can't fault it, happy customer.
Excellent comfort and great service from bensons etc etc etc etc etc
Our new mattress is lovely we just don't want to get out of it in the morning as it is so comfortable
Very comfortable straight away. Feel much cooler at night, not waking up in the night feeling boiling anymore, It's quite a deep mattress, you will need deep fitted sheets.
Good material and very nice quality Good Staff and presenting everything very lightly...thanks
Very comfortable sleep. Best mattress we have had in a long time. Thought we would treat ourselves to a good firm mattress for our Golden Wedding year in 2026. Would definitely recommend.
The mattress we bought is very comfortable the mattress tester I used to help me choose one was very helpful and the staff were very good at helping me choose one
This mattress is really comfy to sleep on. Would recommend to anyone that needs a comfy mattress to sleep on
3 weeks in and love my mattress and pillow set. Really comfortable so much I don't want to get up in the morning. Best sleep I have had in years. I thought it would be hard to get used to at first but that wasn't the case. So comfy from the first night. Would definitely recommend
Bought for daughter after using the sleep assessment bed in store and advice from staff. Daughter finds mattress very comfortable and supportive (she has hypermobility spectrum disorder). Only downside is it has a slight odour which I think is a bit fishy smelling. Also the cost to remove old mattress is very expensive.
Great bed super comfortable been sleeping great ever since having the bed
This is a lovely mattress, very comfortable. Your Salesman was very helpful in giving us information and samples to help with our decision.
After sleeping on a hard mattress for 20 years this is wonderfully bliss.
Our new mattress is a 100% improvement from our old mattress. Getting such a better nights sleep. Delivery was within the time slot advised and the guys were in and out in 10 minutes. Great service.
I am totally in love with my new mattress. After years of putting off replacing my old mattress for the fear it wouldn't be any better I finally took the plunge. I wish I did it years ago. For the first time in years I am sleeping better and no longer get up in the morning feeling like I had be hit by a bus!! Dont wait like I did!!
EXCELLENT CHOICE AS IT IS REALLY COMFORTABLE. I WAS ALWAYS A STEEL SPRING FAN BUT AM REALLY PLEASED WITH THE MODERN CONSTRUCTION METHODS.
This mattress really solves a few problems for us . No sagging or indentations particularly at the side of the mattress . Even sitting on the edge it remains sturdy . You cannot feel another person moving around next to you . It is made of natural rivers and we feel this helps with allergies . Super comfortable . Just the right amount of firmness .
