About the iGel NanoTech 3500i Plushtop Mattress
Last checked
The iGel NanoTech 3500i Plushtop is led by feel rather than by an overt orthopaedic brief: medium, 3 of 5, with a cushioned plushtop doing much of the first-contact work. The plushtop is the practical detail. It should make the surface feel more yielding at the shoulder and hip than a flatter-topped mattress, while the medium tension keeps it away from the boardy feel associated with firmer orthopaedic pocket-sprung builds. That is an honest comfort-led specification, but it is not the same thing as firmer support; compared with tauter pocket-sprung hybrids, this style prioritises pressure relief and body-hugging comfort over a braced, level sleeping plane. The NanoTech and iGel language points towards temperature control, although that is marketing terminology rather than a guaranteed cool-sleep result, especially once a plush top adds more material between the sleeper and the support core. Several detailed accounts also describe the mattress as very deep and heavy, which sounds reassuringly substantial but makes rotation and even lifting corners for fitted sheets more of a job than with slimmer rolled mattresses.
Side sleepers of average build are the clearest match, because the medium tension and plushtop give the shoulder enough give without immediately feeling unsupportive. Happier accounts repeatedly describe strong comfort, better sleep and a surface that moulds to the body, which lines up with a cushioned medium build rather than a firm orthopaedic one. Back sleepers are more split: some enjoy the comfort, but low-scoring accounts repeatedly describe softening, dips through the middle and a tendency for couples to roll inwards, with back ache appearing when the surface no longer feels level enough. Heat claims deserve caution here. One hot sleeper found it helpful, yet several other accounts say the cooling technology made little difference or felt warmer than a previous mattress, so the customer signal does not fully support the temperature-control promise. The edge story is mixed as well: firm sidewalls may help when sitting or getting in and out, but they can make the softer centre feel more sloped for couples, particularly where two sleepers share a larger size or have different support needs. For average-weight side sleepers wanting a plush medium feel, this is the right call. For couples needing a firmer, flatter surface with stronger temperature confidence, look at firmer pocket-sprung hybrids instead.

Amazing quality, had for a few months now and would not change a thing. Definitely worth the money for someone who is a hot sleeper.
It is certainly comfortable. The sidewalls may be overly firm, causing you to roll toward the middle of the bed. As for the nanotech business, we haven't really noticed any improvement over our previous mattress, which probably makes it seem overly expensive.
The mattress is very comfortable, but hot. It is supposed to have cooling technology but it is warmer than my previous bed.
The delivery was on time and very helpful delivery staff. The mattress itself is very comfortable.
Love the new iGel Nano Tech 3500i Plushtop Mattress, so comfy
I absolutely love my new bed the mattress is so comfortable, haven't had such a good sleep in a long time..
Love it, so comfortable. Moulds to your body. Can't fault the quality & the instructions to maintain a longer life of the mattress are easy to follow
Best nights sleep in years - don't want to get up in the morning. Excellent service from the staff instore at Cannock and the two guys who delivered the bed
Love my new mattress It's both firm yet so comfortable. Haven't slept so well in years plus my aching back seems to have vanished. Couldn't recommend it more.
The fabric and overall build is good quality, the mattress is heavy and that is reassuring aligned to the expensive cost. We bought a firm mattress after testing in the shop, but have found some softening in the core areas of sleep and to the sides to which we get in and out of bed. I guess that is normal as beds settle but is a bit disappointing given the mattress expense as was hoping the firmness would remain for longer than a few weeks and does have my wife and I feeling like we are leaning away from each other due to dips. The bed is also meant to be temperature controlling, but I can't say have noticed any difference to previous mattress on that front and we both still as hot as always have been. 3 star rating mainly given in basis of perceived poor value for money, an expensive bed with much promise, but temperature controlling not great and firmness as softened after only a month
Absolutely love my mattress! For the first time in years I've not woken up with a bad back . Worth every penny ! I'm like princess and the pea in my new bed!
The memory foam mattress gives great support without being too firm. Very happy with the purchase!
Best purchase I've made in years. Thought I was being a little extravagant spending that much money, but honestly it's money we'll spent.
Going to bed is a treat now. I love the height of the mattress as you literally have to climb in to bed. Sleep has improved and no aches and pains when I wake up I still got hot at night so not sure the igel takes all the heat away. That's the only negative
Was so unsure about ordering this due to the price, but honestly the best thing I ever did! Comfort is next level!
Sprung Mattress was comfortable however not as durable as hoped ( roll together)
The mattress is really comfy and it is great for keeping you cool through the night. Been having a great night's sleep since getting it!
A really lovely mattress! Cool and very comfortable. You have to rotate it once a month though for even wear.
Really great mattress. Firm but not hard and feels really supportive.
Super comfy mattress and now with built in topper. I had the older version of this mattress, but the new one is even better. Great service from the Tamworth store too.
