About the Sleepmotion 800i Headboard
Last checked
As the finishing panel for the Sleepmotion 800i base, this headboard is meant to complete the adjustable bed rather than act as a stand-alone style statement. It is a simple grey upholstered board with clean, straight lines, so the look sits in the modern-minimal bracket rather than the plush wingback, deep-buttoned or hotel-panelled camp. Grey is doing the heavy lifting here. That makes the fabric register conservative for this product class: neutral enough for pale walls, charcoal furniture and Scandi-leaning rooms, but not the sort of colour-led upholstery range seen on broader divan headboard lines or floor-standing boutique styles. The useful construction detail is behind the board, where the fittings are stored in a zipped rear compartment, which keeps the metalwork together before fitting and avoids loose brackets being misplaced. Fitting is the narrower part of the proposition; customer experience points to an 800i-specific bolt pattern rather than an interchangeable Sleepmotion-family board, and a substantive fitting problem centred on holes and bracket width not matching another Sleepmotion base. That is a credible choice for a matched adjustable-bed accessory, but slimmer than universal strut or wall-mounted headboards that can be moved between bedsteads.
The grey fabric and bolt-on 800i fitting work best where the bed base is already chosen and the room needs a quiet visual end-stop. Praise tends to centre on the headboard feeling solid, tidy and understated, with the hidden compartment for fixings coming up as a genuinely useful touch rather than decoration. It suits modern rooms that need the bed to look finished without adding a tall statement board, and the neutral texture has been liked by people wanting something that blends rather than dominates. Colour choice is the main weakness. The claim that grey will cover most modern bedrooms is too broad once the scheme moves warm, patterned or traditional, and criticism of the texture and appearance is not isolated. Functionally, the board does not always solve the gap created by the adjustable mechanism: repeated comments describe the mattress sitting away from the headboard or still being able to move sideways, so the visual match does not translate into mattress containment. A further caution is backrest use, because one substantive installation complaint described flex when leaned on due to the low bolt position. It lands well for an existing 800i base in a modern grey room where neat matching matters most; homes needing colour choice, firmer sit-up support or cross-frame compatibility need to move into universal floor-standing upholstered boards or adjustable-bed ranges with more mounting options.

Made locally in the UK - British craftsmanship at its finest
Nearby factories mean the frame and upholstery spend less time in transit before reaching the retailer, and can leave fewer handoffs for queries about parts or delivery. Origin alone doesn't prove sturdier hinges or neater fabric work.
Sleepmotion headboard - perfectly complements your Sleepmotion base
Headboard panels sit behind the moving frame, giving the bed a tidier finished end and keeping pillows from rubbing directly against the wall. It won't suit a standard bed frame unless the fittings line up.
Padded headboard style - with plush cushioning for extra comfort
Soft fill behind the front surface softens contact when you sit up. It can make the headboard look bulkier, and the covered surface needs regular vacuuming because dust and hair settle into it.
Highly durable woven fabric - for life-proof comfort and timeless style
Tightly interlaced threads give the upholstery a firmer, less stretchy surface, helping it cope with repeated sitting and brushing against bedding. Spills and pet claws can mark it.
Contemporary panelled design - incorporates style into any space
Panel seams break up the upholstery, giving the headboard cleaner lines. Raised seams can catch dust, and large pillows may hide the pattern that gives the headboard its shape.
Full height headboard - sits flush to the floor for a sturdy feel
Panels running to the floor brace the bed end, giving pillows and shoulders a firmer surface behind them. They can be heavier to move and fussier to clean around.

Fantastic product. The lightly textured woven fabric gives it an exquisite feel, and the robust build quality assures durability.
Looks really good and expensive
A must buy headboard if you have the bedframe. I put it off for over a year as my wife wanted something else but wasn't sure what. It never changed in price to be cheaper so just get it than thinking there would be any price drop or sale on it. Its does the job, however in terms of helping keep the matress in place between the headboard and the metal matress holder bit at the bottom of the bedframe, it doesnt fill in the space. This means the matress can still slide to the sides. Oh well. Still all good. I also like the clever way the tools to install are kept at the back of the frame. This could be a neat discreet place to store "things" too.
This headboard is so nice. It has a totally different design from what I normally have but I love it. Easy to put on the 800i bed to finish it off. It looks designer but for less.

THIS SLEEPMOTION 800i HEADBOARD IS AN AMAZING PIECE OF COMFORT.
Would be perfect if there was a pocket to store the remote in when not in use.
It is amazing! I can now raise myself up. To help me get out of bed. The motion on the bed is relaxing. The lighting on the bottom of the bed is also helpful. And usb so you can plug your devices in the bed an don't need to worry about lots of sockets.
An essential and integral part of the whole package. It is modern, well made and fits in with any environment or decoration.
