About the Ealing Upholstered Ottoman Bed Frame
Last checked
In rooms where storage has to replace spare floor space, the Ealing is built around a lift-up ottoman base rather than side drawers. Dreams describes it as an ultra-slimline upholstered ottoman with a padded headboard and two colour options, so the styling sits in the contemporary upholstered-bed lane: softer and more finished than a plain metal frame, but still more practical than decorative. Full-bed-base storage is the main construction call here. Against a drawer divan, an ottoman gives larger uninterrupted storage and works better where bedside tables would block drawers, but the trade-off is that the mattress platform and internal boards become part of the bed’s ventilation story, not just its storage story. The headboard is included in the visual design rather than treated as an add-on, which helps it read as a complete bedstead rather than a base with fabric wrapped around it. Multiple detailed accounts also point to a board-led storage floor and base arrangement that can be fiddly to align during assembly; that is less forgiving than a simple slatted bedstead, where each support piece has an obvious place and airflow is part of the structure.
For a guest room, nursery room or compact main bedroom, the attraction is easy to see because happier accounts repeatedly describe a smart-looking, solid-feeling frame with deep storage and a lift mechanism that works smoothly once assembled. The storage promise is real. Several owners say it feels well made for the money, and the padded, modern headboard gives enough presence for a room that needs to look finished without moving into bulky sleigh-bed territory. Ventilation is where the buyer feedback turns sharply against the sales pitch: low-scoring and long-term accounts repeatedly describe mould developing under the bed, on the headboard base, on the mattress underside or inside the storage area after a few months to under two years, with the solid-base design specifically blamed for trapping moisture. Assembly is the other repeated pain point, with awkward boards, reluctant bolts and at least one faulty part turning a supposedly straightforward build into a frustrating job, while one separate account describes a persistent fishy fabric smell. For genuinely dry spare rooms needing hidden storage and a neat upholstered look, this is the right call. For humid bedrooms, memory-foam mattresses or anyone prioritising under-mattress airflow, a slatted ottoman or open slatted bedstead is the safer place to look instead.

Really appreciated how this bed frame offered ample storage without compromising style. The comfort and practicality it provides truly enhances the bedroom's overall vibe.
Lovely low profile bed fits the mattress ours is a double exactly. Ottoman mechanism works brilliantly a little bit frightening without the mattress its an iron man work out but with the mattress lovely and balanced one hand operation a breeze. very pleased with our purchase.
Ottoman twin beds amazing quality !
Bed is very low to ground. Doesn't look like a double.. more like a small double. Hoping to change mattress as isn't comfy and looks way smaller than my old one..worse sleep i have had in years.
Well made bed with ample storae underneath. The base lifts up from the foot of the bed. The included headboard is high but I feel it compliments the bed. The matress has to be a decent weight otherwise the base won't stay down. I would buy again,
Simple and elegant with plenty of storage. I wish the bottom boards were secured to the bed, as it creates an issueif you want to move the bed by slightest.
Truly dreams come true. I love it instantly after building up. Also, it was easy and straightforward to assemble but the manual was included with the big item which stress me. Sleeping on it was so comfortable. It a good product with best price. I will recommend it to family and friends.
This bed is of good quality and comes with clear, step-by-step assembly instructions that are easy to follow.
Amazing bed with loads of storage! i was looking round for an ottoman bed for ages but the prices were getting £700-800 which was an unbelievable price! After looking on dreams i ordered this bed hoping it would be lovely. Upon arrival it came in 4 boxes buliding it was very simple but do need 2 people. The bed has amazing storage and looks expensive. Very stable i have since ordered another for my mom
Really great bed for a large 19 year old man. Will get our next bed from Dreams
Great service after visiting the store to look at beds, we had a fantastic quick delivery. Despite having rude delivery drivers
Brilliant design and product just one minus point. The the underside, bottom board isn't attached. The rest of the bed is perfect. If there was a cross or wire frame to keep the inside bottom board of the storage held in place it would be a 5 star product. Its only held together if you keep the frame tight.
Arrived in great condition, was a little hard to put together by myself but it does recommend two people so cant fault it for that really. No complaints with the bed, works perfectly
I now have 3 of these beds they are super slimline and yet hold so much underneath while still looking clean and modern. Really pleased.
Very smart bed with loads of storage space and really easy to lift. The silver is a lovely light grey.
Great bed , loads of space under the bed more than I thought , only negative it is quite heavy to lift and the frame for that was bit tricky to put together , definitely needs 2 people but its great space saver
Easy to assemble and very stylish and comfortable, lots of storage and sturdy design, this is a great bed!
Practical and sturdy, convenience of storage makes here big plus with the hydraulics to help you lift up the bed. It can be heavy to lift for some people so definitely try before you buy. Mattress can slightly move side to side... but this is very minimal.
Great quality bed, looks really smart in my sons new room.
I was very happy with my purchase
