About the SleepSoul Heaven 1000 Pocket Gel Mattress
Last checked
Value-led buyers considering the SleepSoul Heaven are looking at a 25cm, rolled pocket-sprung mattress with a pillow top, a knitted cover and a 2cm gel-foam comfort layer over 1000 pocket springs. The supplied feel is medium. In practice, that construction sits in the honest middle of the boxed-mattress market: 1000 pockets is a sensible support unit at this level, but the 2cm gel layer is a shallow comfort cap rather than the deeper pressure-relief stack found in pricier memory-foam hybrids or the £700-plus pocket-sprung tier. The pillow top gives the surface its initial softness, while the spring unit underneath is doing the real load-bearing work, so the feel is unlikely to behave like a plush hotel mattress once body weight settles through the top. Several longer accounts describe exactly that pattern: a soft first contact followed by a more solid, medium-to-medium-firm support feel, with no obvious springiness under the main sleeping area. The single-sided build keeps care simple, with rotation rather than flipping, and the side handles are useful given the listed weights of 34.8kg for a double and 42kg for a superking. Rolled delivery is practical, not a comfort feature.
The combination of a cushioned top and individual pocket springs works best for back sleepers, many side sleepers of average build, and couples wanting less roll-together than an open-coil mattress usually gives. Happier customers repeatedly describe good comfort for the money, straightforward boxed delivery and a mattress that expands into a substantial-feeling bed; recent feedback also echoes the balance between comfort and firmness rather than an overtly soft sink. Edge support is where the construction shows its price tier, with multiple accounts describing a weaker border and a sense of losing confidence when lying or rolling close to the side, which matters more for couples sharing a smaller size or anyone who uses the mattress edge to sit on. The cooling claim also needs tempering: the gel layer and breathable border suggest fresher sleep than dense all-foam, yet low-scoring and detailed reviews still mention heat retention, so hot sleepers should not read “gel” as a guarantee of cool nights. Firmness feedback is mixed, but the stronger pattern is that it feels firmer than the softer product language might imply, especially once the pillow top compresses; one complaint found it too soft, while several others wanted either more give or less hardness. The SleepSoul Heaven suits budget-conscious sleepers wanting a cushioned, supportive boxed pocket mattress; those prioritising reliable cooling or stronger perimeter support should look instead at higher-tier pocket-sprung hybrids with reinforced edges and deeper comfort layers.

Specifications
Manufacturer specifications without the jargon, easy to scan and compare.
Pocket Springs
Furnished with a generous count of pocket springs, this mattress offers superior reinforcement for your body while sleeping, ensuring each segment receives individualised support. This design brilliantly alleviates pressure points and enhances comfort, without negating the overall mattress durability, guaranteeing you a restful night for years to come.
Knitted cover
A knitted cover spells out a blend of cosiness with breathability, providing a comforting touch that many crave while ensuring your temperature remains well regulated throughout the night. This feature pairs comfort and functionality in a coveted balance, contributing to an intimate sleep environment that is warm, inviting, yet refreshingly aerated.
Medium
With a medium firmness level, this specification caters exquisitely to a substantial range of sleepers, being not too hard nor too soft. The presence of 1000 pocket springs, complemented by gel layers, intends to distribute weight evenly across the surface, aiding in maintaining correct spinal alignment and contributing to a restful night's sleep.
Rolled-up
Embracing a rolled-up design, this marvellous piece of sleep engineering ensures direct delivery from manufacturer to home, eliminating the need for any intermediary handling. This design also helps to consolidate both space and cost, but be aware it may require up to 48 hours to fully expand and reach optimal comfort levels.
10 Year Warranty
A 10-year warranty essentially serves as a long-term promise of quality, guaranteeing that the item is free from any manufacturing defects and will perform as expected for a decade. If any issues arise during this period, they'll be rectified at no extra cost, assuring you of a hassle-free sleep experience for years to come.
Fire Resistant
Ensuring safety during your peaceful slumber, fire resistance is a crucial feature that reduces the risk posed by potential accidents involving flammable materials. Furthermore, it demonstrates the manufacturer's commitment to adhere to strict safety standards, prioritizing your well-being over all else.
25cm deep
In terms of depth, 25cm can imply a mattress that provides significant cushioning, potentially offering improved comfort and support. However, this dimension also may require deeper fitted sheets, an additional consideration for the shopper.
Includes turning handles
Turning handles aid in the regular rotation of the mattress, thereby significantly extending its lifespan. Easy maintenance is always appreciated, and these handles streamlining the process by making rotation hassle-free and manageable.
Gel foam
The inclusion of gel foam helps regulate body temperature by dissipating heat away from the sleeper, providing a cooler sleeping surface. This results in greater comfort during the night, especially for those who typically sleep hot.
Pillow top
A pillow-top layer gifts you with an additional layer of pure comfort and softness. It capitalises on reducing pressure points and enhancing back support which could contribute to a more restful and pain-free sleep.
Depth: 25cm
25cm is a great middle-ground for a mattress. Thick enough to house good quality materials and components while being thin enough to fit normal sheets ensuring you do not need to upgrade your bedding unnecessarily.
Single-sided
Unlike double-sided mattresses that require flipping, a single-sided mattress only needs to be rotated periodically, making maintenance easier.

Fairly pleased with this purchase. It has the right balance between comfort and firmness, providing an enjoyable sleep experience.
Seems very comfy. And it's light.
Was impressed with the way mattress was packed in a box and then swelled to thick comfortable mattress on unpacking Comfortable sprung with top soft gel layer making for a restful sleep.
Very good product. Thanks
Mattress comfortable. Delivery process was efficient and on time
Great mattress for the price-point. Very comfortable and little to no back pain (unlike my old mattress!).
It wasn't firm enough., it was too soft.
Very comfortable and affordable matress and a Which best buy.
No complaints and the vacuum packing is great making it really easy to get up a twisty staircase.
It feels really soft but its very supportive. Best new mattress Ive had in years.
Easy and comfortable. Although arriving rolled tightly it flattened out well within the specified time.
Very comfortable compared with my old mattress which was only 6 months old
Great mattress, we find it very comfy, not too soft or firm. Very pleasant delivery guys too.
Really comfortable mattress
Great comfortable mattress which was a very good price. It is far better than I imagined, I bought it as a Which rated best buy, which I'd say it deserves.
The mattress is very comfortable. I bought it as it was a Which Best Buy and within my price range. Seems to be a god choice. Delivery was very good and the fact that it was vacuum packed and in a cardboard box made it very easy to get upstairs on my own.
Great matress was very skeptical at first but such a good matress for the price. And I don't wake up with aches and pains anymore!
Comfortable and not bouncy.
Comfortable & less heavy than old mattress. Happy that only needs rotation rather then turning upside-down too
This is a comfortable mattress. for the price We have been sleeping on it for two months (on a bed with sprung slats) and it is soft enough that you sink in a little without it being unsupportive (we have not noticed any aches). Small downsides - despite being gel, we think it still retains a bit of heat and the edges do not have a lot of support so you may find yourself rolling off if you're too close to the edge.
