About the Horizon Adventurer 1000 Pocket Memory Mattress
Last checked
A 25cm pocket-sprung and memory-foam hybrid is the core build here, with 1000 pocket springs underneath a bamboo-infused memory-foam comfort layer and a knitted cover. The spring count is credible, not lavish. At 1000 pockets, this sits in the conventional entry-to-mid hybrid class: better at individual response than an open-coil mattress, but less contour-aware than higher-count pocket builds or zoned spring systems. The medium-firm feel comes from that foam-over-pocket-spring mix, so the surface should have some moulding rather than the flat pushback of a basic sprung mattress, while the springs provide the main lift under the hips and lower back. Bamboo memory foam is the more unusual line in the spec, though it should be read as a cooling-infused foam rather than a natural-fibre comfort stack; memory foam still tends to hold more warmth than wool, cotton or latex, even with a knitted cover helping surface airflow. The orthopaedic claim is also practical rather than medical: it means a supportive, firmer sleeping surface aimed at alignment, not a specialist back-care mechanism. Edge support is a useful inclusion at this tier, especially because foam borders can make the usable sleep area feel larger than on softer boxed hybrids. Single-sided construction keeps care simple, with rotation helped by handles, although the double still weighs 30kg and the superking reaches 43kg.
For back sleepers and some combination sleepers, the appeal is the balance of contouring foam with a support unit that does not collapse too readily under the pelvis. Sleep quality is the repeated positive. Praise tends to focus on comfort, a supported feel, decent value and the way the vacuum-packed mattress expands after unpacking, with heavier feedback also noting that the edge did not bottom out when sitting on it. Firmness is where expectations split: although it is sold as medium-firm, lower-scoring feedback and recent comments describe it as firmer than the label suggests, so lighter side sleepers wanting deep shoulder give may find the memory foam too restrained. The rolled format helps with narrow stairs, but the actual weights still show up in real handling; even buyers pleased with the packaging flag that it is heavy once it has to be moved into place. Couples get two helpful ingredients, pocket springs and foam, both of which reduce partner disturbance better than a connected open-coil unit, and the reinforced border helps when one person sleeps near the edge. Heat-sensitive sleepers may find it fresher than older, dense memory-foam slabs, but the build remains a foam hybrid rather than a naturally breathable pocket mattress. It suits someone wanting a supportive, firmer-feeling memory-foam hybrid with useful edge support; plush side sleepers or anyone set against a firmer-than-labelled feel may need to consider a softer memory-foam hybrid or a pocket-sprung pillow-top tier instead.

Specifications
Manufacturer specifications without the jargon, easy to scan and compare.
No roll-together
Crafted with innovative technology, this item ensures independent sleeping zones, eradicating disruptions caused by movement by one person, thereby offering you a serene night's sleep. Furthermore, this distinctive attribute aims to promote even weight distribution, essentially contributing to better sleep posture and relieving areas of high pressure, ensuring you wake up refreshed and invigorated each morning.
Medium to Firm
Brandishing a "medium to firm" categorisation, this refers to the desired balance between support and comfort. Typically, such a rating means you'll experience an optimal distribution of your body weight while ensuring pressure points like hips and shoulders won't sink too deeply, thereby resisting counterproductive sagging and promoting aligned posture.
Pocket Springs
Furnished with a generous count of pocket springs, this mattress offers superior reinforcement for your body while sleeping, ensuring each segment receives individualised support. This design brilliantly alleviates pressure points and enhances comfort, without negating the overall mattress durability, guaranteeing you a restful night for years to come.
Knitted cover
A knitted cover spells out a blend of cosiness with breathability, providing a comforting touch that many crave while ensuring your temperature remains well regulated throughout the night. This feature pairs comfort and functionality in a coveted balance, contributing to an intimate sleep environment that is warm, inviting, yet refreshingly aerated.
Rolled-up
Embracing a rolled-up design, this marvellous piece of sleep engineering ensures direct delivery from manufacturer to home, eliminating the need for any intermediary handling. This design also helps to consolidate both space and cost, but be aware it may require up to 48 hours to fully expand and reach optimal comfort levels.
Fire Resistant
Ensuring safety during your peaceful slumber, fire resistance is a crucial feature that reduces the risk posed by potential accidents involving flammable materials. Furthermore, it demonstrates the manufacturer's commitment to adhere to strict safety standards, prioritizing your well-being over all else.
25cm deep
In terms of depth, 25cm can imply a mattress that provides significant cushioning, potentially offering improved comfort and support. However, this dimension also may require deeper fitted sheets, an additional consideration for the shopper.
Includes turning handles
Turning handles aid in the regular rotation of the mattress, thereby significantly extending its lifespan. Easy maintenance is always appreciated, and these handles streamlining the process by making rotation hassle-free and manageable.
Depth: 25cm
25cm is a great middle-ground for a mattress. Thick enough to house good quality materials and components while being thin enough to fit normal sheets ensuring you do not need to upgrade your bedding unnecessarily.
5 year guarantee
Fault cover puts manufacturing problems in writing, making a loose strut, failed fixing or collapsed padding less of a gamble after delivery. Accidental damage, fabric marks and poor fitting usually sit outside it.
Hypoallergenic
Hypoallergenic mattresses are the perfect choice for those with allergies or sensitivities, as they protect against allergens and irritants. They're also a great choice for those with asthma or respiratory issues.
Hypoallergenic for your peace of mind
Lower-irritant cover materials are intended to give dust mites and everyday allergens fewer places to settle, which may suit you if your nose or skin reacts easily. Allergy sufferers may need a washable protector.
Pressure relief
Softer comfort layers let shoulders and hips sink slightly into the surface, spreading body weight before you feel sharper points building. Front sleepers may want firmer support to keep the hips level.
Reinforced mattress edge
Firmer sides help the mattress hold its shape when you sit or sleep near the border, giving you more usable width across the bed. It won't stop a soft comfort layer dipping under weight.
Memory Foam
Foam in the comfort layer softens under body heat, letting shoulders and hips sink closer into the surface while reducing sharp pressure points. It can feel warmer and slower to move on.
Single-sided
Bed-making is simpler because the comfort layers stay on the top face, leaving the underside to stabilise the mattress while you lie on the cushioned surface. Don't flip it over.

Providing good comfort and support, this mattress offers a cosy night's sleep. Slightly firmer than expected but overall satisfactory.
So comfy, with plenty of support.
Best mattress ever! Great pillows too. Recommended to all my friends.
Super deep memory so not suprised it's so comortable, Horizon mattress is jsut as described and has transformed my sleep and is really supportive around my lower back, which needed a little help. Great mattress if you just want a good nights sleep or need help to recover.
Amazing mattress, not soft but not too firm either. Very supportive, have recommended to all my friends and family looking for an upgrade to their mattress :)
I went for the Voyager as I was looking for a mattress with a lot of memory foam, I'm not the smallest bloke so wanted a deeper layer to take my weight. So far so good, I can sit on the side and the foam doesn't bottom out and is more than capable of taking my weight. It's comfortable is a little softer than expected, certainly supportive though and am pleased with my purchase.
Easy to manoeuvre & position.
Its fabulous, my back and hip pain has improved in the space of weeks. Definitely recommend especially as its one of the more affordable memory foam mattresses & in my opinion is an excellent deal for what you get.
Soft fabric and is definitely medium-firm as described. Has improved husbands bad shoulder and improved our sleep.
The mattress is comfortable
I had struggled for years with an uncomfortable mattress and from the first night using this mattress Ive slept so well. It is just the right firmness so you are supported but dont sink into it too much. When I unrolled it it filled up to its shape pretty quickly.
Comfortable, support in the right places, best nights sleep ever.
A good night's sleep.
Love this mattress, recommended by Which and you can see why, really comfortable but not soft, so great for support. Getting the best of both worlds, a worthwhile investment and most important a good nights sleep.
Great mattress, firm support without compromising comfort. Hard buying a mattress as my partner is much bigger than me and this works perfect for both of us, I'm assuming it's the extra memory foam.
Slept on a standard sprung mattress for years, always wanted to try a mattress with memory foam but was a little dubious, it's a big investment. Should have done it sooner, it's so comfortable, can't feel any pressure points when layed down or sitting watching TV. No regrets, other than not upgrading sooner, I would highly recommended this mattress.
Super Comfortable, even though it's slightly firmer than I expected but so far so good, I'm sleeping better and it suits my body. My hips, lower back and shoulders all feel supported. It feels well made and is deeper than my last memory mattress.
My perfect mattress, been sleeping on memory foam for over 15 years now, this Voyager is the best. Contours nicely to my body and really supportive. My last memory mattress was a bit soft, this has the memory feel and the firmer support. And most importantly I'm sleeping really well with no aches or pains. Happy to recommend, I chose it after reading the Which review.
Comfortable no matter which sleep position you adopt. Kicking myself for not switching to memory foam before now. Bought this product via recommendation. Was not disappointed.
Spot on, purchased from a Which recommendation and not disappointed. Ticks both the support and comfort box for both my wife and me.
