About the Silentnight SleepResponse™ Breatheasy 1000 Pocket Sprung Mattress
Last checked
Cooling and a very firm support feel are the two ideas being asked to work together in the Silentnight SleepResponse™ Breatheasy 1000 Pocket Sprung Mattress. It is a pocket-sprung mattress rated firm, 5 of 5, using Silentnight’s 1,000 Mirapocket® spring unit beneath a quilted aloe-vera sleep surface and airflow-focused fibre layers. A 1000-pocket unit is on-tier for a mainstream pocket-sprung mattress: a clear step above open-coil mattresses for individual spring response and partner movement control, but conservative beside plusher pocket-sprung builds that add mini-springs, latex or a thicker pressure-relieving foam stack. This is an honest, fairly simple build. The firmness is doing much of the support work, so the mattress should feel flatter and more bracing under the lower back rather than deeply contouring around hips and shoulders. The breathable fibre story is also more practical than luxurious; it points to air movement and a drier surface feel, not the cool-to-the-touch sensation found on some gel-foam hybrids. The aloe-vera treatment is a surface comfort detail rather than a structural comfort layer, so it should not be confused with extra cushioning. In plain terms, this is a firm 1000-pocket mattress with a lighter, airier comfort package, aimed more at steadiness and temperature control than sink-in softness.
The 1,000-pocket support unit makes most sense for back sleepers, especially those who want their pelvis held level rather than cushioned into the mattress. Buyers repeatedly describe the feel as properly firm but not board-like, with the support standing out for steadier sleep, fewer morning aches and less partner disturbance than expected; that fits the pocket-spring construction, which usually transfers less movement than a basic open-coil unit. Temperature is another consistent positive, with sleep described as more even and less sweaty, so the breathable fibres appear to be doing useful work rather than existing only as catalogue language. The firmness creates the main limitation. The least enthusiastic feedback still reads broadly satisfied, but it repeatedly frames the mattress as supportive rather than plush, and there is a short settling-in period for at least some people before the feel becomes comfortable. Side sleepers, particularly those with pronounced hips and shoulders, may find the same firm surface too resistant because the comfort layers are not built to give much extra sink at pressure points. Couples with similar firmness preferences are well served by the movement control, while a large weight or preference difference may expose the lack of a more adaptive comfort stack. For dedicated back sleepers and some front sleepers wanting firm support with better airflow, this is the right call. For side sleepers or anyone chasing a deeper cushioned cradle, look at softer pillow-top hybrids or the higher pocket-sprung tier instead.

Feels properly firm and supportive with decent airflow so Im not waking up sweaty, and its been a solid upgrade overall.
Been sleeping on this SN mattress a couple of weeks now and its nice and firm without feeling like a plank. I dont get that hot, sticky feeling in the night, which is a blessing at my age. My other half wriggles about and Im not bouncing all over the place, so thats a win. Not the plushest thing in the world, but it does the job and I wake up feeling fairly straight.
Now i am used to bed i get good sleep through night. Delivery was excellent. Slight problem with supply as mattress wasnt available pn original installation date. But overall am happy with mattress and bed
The Sleep Response™ Breatheasy 1000 Mattress combines comfort and practicality with its aloe vera-infused quilted cover and 1,000 Mirapocket® springs for targeted support and reduced motion transfer. Its breathable fibres and mesh border enhance airflow for a cooler sleep, while the single-sided design makes upkeep easy. Made in the UK with recycled materials and backed by a 5-year guarantee, its a smart, eco-conscious choice for restful nights.

So very pleased with our new mattress, glad we went to Dreams.
It's a bit hard to start with but I think it's ok better then the last one I bought much more coftterble
Firm supportive mattress wih comfy top layer, appears well made. Easy to rotate (single). Temperature stayed consistent during night, didnt get too hot. As its new theres no noisy springs movement yet so slept like a log and it comes with 5 year guarantee. Worth going into store to try the sleep guide machine/stock item if you are not sure. Ordering and delivery process also went well.
