About the Sealy Posturepedic Elevate Merivale Combination Mattress
Last checked
Side and back sleeping are the obvious target here. The Sealy Posturepedic Elevate Merivale Combination Mattress is a spring-and-foam design with a medium-firm, 4 out of 5 feel, using a coil support system beneath graphite-infused and plant-based comfort foams. The feel is lifted, not engulfing. In practical terms, the foams are there to soften pressure at the shoulder, hip and lumbar area, while the AlignSupport coils take the main body load rather than letting the sleeper sink as deeply as on softer memory-foam hybrids. Honest spec for a support-led hybrid. The graphite foam and Eco ComfortCore layer are more interesting than the plain polyurethane comfort stacks often seen on entry-level open-coil mattresses, although the absence of a stated spring count means the Posturepedic claim has to be read as branded support engineering rather than a transparent pocket-count story. The UniCased edge system is a useful structural detail, because reinforced perimeters reduce roll-off and make more of the surface usable for couples. Single-sided construction keeps maintenance simple, but regular rotation still matters because the comfort foams cannot be flipped to share wear across both faces.
Graphite-infused foam leads the comfort story. The SmarTex Plus cover and ProShield anti-allergy treatment add a breathable, cleaner-sleep angle, and the strongest real-bedroom pattern supports the spec: balanced support, cooler sleep and fewer morning niggles around the back, hips and shoulders are repeated positives. Average-build side sleepers tend to get enough cushioning from the upper foam layers without losing the firmer support underneath, while back sleepers are the cleaner match because the medium-firm tension holds the pelvis more level than a softer foam-topped mattress would. The firmer feel divides opinion. A small but meaningful minority found it uncomfortable or needed time to adjust, so the comfort grade should be read as supportive rather than plush, especially for curvier side sleepers who need deeper sink at the shoulder and hip. Adjustable-base feedback is also mixed, with one happy motion-bed pairing but another complaint about lumping and unevenness when the head section was raised; that makes the Merivale a safer fit on a standard divan or slatted frame than as an automatic choice for articulated bases. Sheet depth may need checking. Best for average-weight back and side sleepers wanting a cooler, supportive hybrid. Less good for curvier side sleepers needing deeper pressure relief, who would do better with a softer foam-topped hybrid or the £700-plus pressure-relief tier.

100 Night Comfort Guarantee - gives you peace of mind when you buy
A 100 Night Comfort Guarantee allows for a trial period where the product can be tested in your own home environment to see if it meets personal comfort standards. If it doesn't meet your expectations, it can be returned for a refund or exchange, offering flexibility and assurance in purchasing decisions.
Medium to firm comfort - a supportive feel with a touch of softness
Offering balanced support, this specification indicates a mattress that can provide a blend of softness for comfort and firmness for proper spinal alignment. Ideal for those who need a mattress that can cater to both pressure relief and support preferences.
Enhanced edge support - prevents dipping or sagging at the border
Reinforced sides help the mattress keep its shape when you sit or lie near the edge, giving you more usable width and a steadier feel getting in and out of bed. Very soft toppers can make the border feel less stable.
Expertly made just for you - by a team of expert bedmakers
Attention to detail ensures a comfortable sleep experience by tailoring the mattress construction to deliver consistent support. However, mass-made options might better suit those on a tight budget.
Pressure relieving features - reduces pressure points for better sleep
Enhanced comfort results from its ability to alleviate pressure on various body parts. Improved sleep quality is achieved through reduced disturbances caused by pressure-induced discomfort.
Anti-allergy protection - hypoallergenic for sensitive sleepers
Fillings chosen to discourage dust-mite debris and skin flakes building up can leave your nose and face calmer through the night. Regular pillowcase washing does most of the hygiene work.

Really quite pleased with my purchase. Provides just the right balance between comfort and firm support, and the cooling feature is a bonus.
I was initially worried about moving from a soft memory foam mattress to a hybrid medium-firm one, especially as a side sleeper. Fortunately, I didnt need to be. This mattress feels noticeably firmer and more supportive, yet the plush depth and multiple softer foam layers on top make it very comfortable. It suits me well as a side sleeper and also works perfectly for my partner, who prefers sleeping on her back. One thing to note is that its deeper than our previous mattresses, so we may need to pick up larger fitted sheets. That said, its surprisingly light compared to our old dense memory foam one, which makes rotating it much easier as it settles. The “new mattress” smell disappeared within a couple of days, and we slept well from the very first night. We havent yet tested it through hot summer nights, but it has been warm and cozy through cooler winter evenings so far. Finally, the edge support is impressive—firm enough to prevent dipping, even when sitting or lying right on the edge, despite the mattresss depth. Overall, a great balance of comfort, support, and practicality. Would happily recommend.
Very comfortable. Seemed to have changed to a back sleeper since receiving this but also getting a much better nights sleep. Also, the kids seem to prefer it to their mattresses as theyre coming into bed with us more.
We are enjoying our new bed and mattress. Good nights' sleeping all round. Thank you for suggesting this mattress. The grandkids assure me that it's good for a spot of bouncing too!
Fantastic mattress - great support for my problematic back
The mattress and the bed are of outstanding quality. The choice of a semi-firm mattress together with a motion bed was a well-thought-out process that we had spent time researching, and via excellent advice and guidance from the Dream Outlet in Coventry, UK. We would thoroughly recommend the mattress and the bed. We were impressed with the service provided by the installers and the after-sales service received from Sealy.
We are very pleased with our Merivale mattress. It is so lovely and comfortable and has made the time we sleep just perfect. It was a great choice for us.
Excellent mattress, very comfortable, good value for money.
The Sealy Posturepedic Elevate Merivale Combination Mattress is an exceptionally comfortable mattress. No more aches, pains or stressed pressure points on my hips, legs, shoulders and back. Buying this product was the best choice I made. This mattress definitely suits my particular needs with it's luxury feel . Giving me more restful, quality sleep has been fantastic. I wake up in the morning feeling more refreshed and energised than I was before. A win-win all round.
The mattress is very comfortable and provides a good night sleep. It also provides fantastic support and my husband has noticed a difference that he is not having back pain after sleeping since using this mattress.
Had excellent online advice to select the correct TV for my needs
Very happy with the mattress so far, but have only had it for about six weeks. Hoping I will continue to have a good niggts sleep
I bought this bed a couple of months ago It is great quality and well made I have arthritis in my spine and several other joints and I find this bed very supportive and comfortable I am sleeping incredibly well, without being woken up by pain. I am sleeping 8 hours which was rare with my old bed. I never want to get up now
Excellent mattress, know sleeping easier and more comfortable. Plus having new bed frame that you can move to suit. Best buy.
I didnt know how right the sleep machine could be, the pair of us have had the best 2 months sleep on this mattress, I honestly cant fault it. Spent more than we initially planned, I always went for the cheapest before, but I can honestly say it was worth every penny
It's been a while since I haven't woken with aches. Just shows how bad our old matress was.
