About the Relyon Bridgwater Dunlopillo® Mattress
Last checked
Sleepers looking for a cushioned but supported mattress are the obvious audience for the Relyon Bridgwater, a medium, 3 of 5, pocket-sprung build with Dunlopillo latex, wool and a pillow top above the spring unit. This is not a pure latex mattress. The support still comes from pocket springs, which compress more locally than an open-coil unit, so weight should be spread with less roll-together than on older traditional sprung designs. Latex is the notable comfort layer: compared with standard memory-foam hybrids, it rebounds faster under the hips and shoulders, giving the surface a more buoyant, less slow-sinking feel. A named Dunlopillo latex layer paired with natural wool is generous for a mainstream pocket-sprung mattress; the conservative part is that the plushness still relies on a pillow top, so the first contact is soft before the spring unit starts doing the support work. The traditionally tufted finish is a practical durability choice rather than decoration, as tufting helps hold fillings in place, although it can also make a pillow top feel a little tighter than the word “sumptuous” suggests. Edge-to-edge support is the other useful structural promise, aiming to keep the sides from collapsing too readily when sitting or sleeping near the border.
The side-sleeper case is persuasive because latex and wool give some give at the shoulder, while the pocket springs stop the whole body simply dropping through the surface. Average-weight back sleepers may also get on well with the medium feel, but those who already know they need a flatter, more braced lumbar sensation are the group most likely to prefer a firmer pocket-sprung build. Positive reviews repeatedly describe a mix of initial sink-in comfort and all-night support, with one long-term owner saying the mattress was still holding its shape after nearly four years; that fits the latex-and-tufting spec better than a cheaper foam-topped mattress would. Couples also get a plausible fit here, as pocket springs and reinforced edges match the repeated praise for low partner disturbance, quietness and usable width. Temperature is the less certain piece. Wool and latex are breathable materials on paper, yet a recent account found the mattress warmer than expected, so hot sleepers should not assume the natural-fill story guarantees a cool bed. The medium label is less settled in lower-rated reviews: one sleeper felt swallowed and left with back pain, while another found the same model board-firm, so the comfort grade behaves more like a broad middle than a precision promise. If the sleeper is mainly a side sleeper wanting buoyant cushioning with decent edge support, this works. If the sleeper needs firmer spinal bracing or a cooler, flatter sleep surface, a firmer pocket-sprung or latex-hybrid tier makes more sense.

It's a very comfortable mattress that ensures great sleep. Worth the investment.
A delightful mattress that allows you to move with ease and provides edge to edge support, which allows for the best nights sleep. It's even completed with a pillow top for a softer feel!
Bed is very comfortable but a lot hotter than expected
Extremely comfortable, a great buy, now get a good nights sleep.
What a pillow! At first I thought it was too different from my old one but you just sink into it, keeps you so comfy and cool. No more hot ears when I sleep on my side. The best pillow I've ever slept on.
Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to sleep on the mattress yet, but Im sure it will be comfortable
We did the sleep match test in store and it came up with this mattress as the top option. After trying out this one in store among many others we decided to go with this mattress and we are not disappointed.
This mattress is extremely comfortable and suits both mine and my wifes requirements
Having has several recent and expensive disasters with buying on line mattresses, I went to Dreams and used their diagnostic sleep tool, the reylon mattress that was suggested, is amazing, I now actually look forward to climbing into bed each night.. not too hard not too soft.. just right for a side sleeper.
Such a comfortable mattress. It was the 1st one we tried in the shop and couldn't find anything else anywhere near as comfortable. We bought the superking and I definitely sleep like a baby.
Extremely comfortable and now getting good nights sleep consistently
Very comfortable - so lovely as my last one (less than 18 months old) was awful. Nice peaceful nights now.
The Relyon mattress is very good but not quite as expected. I found it a very hot mattress during the heatwave we had this summer. I was unable to "test" the mattress instore as they didn't have one in their showroom. If I had been able to it may have influenced my decision to buy this particular mattress. I had a Dunlopillo mattress many years ago and I was hoping that this Relyon mattress would be as good - unfortunately it is not.
So comfy and luxurious, its like being surrounded by a soft fleecy blanket!
Lovely and comfortable, worth spending a bit extra to get something thatll last and be comfy
Great service from Ingrida who put us on the sleep assessor system, then lined up around 5 mattresses for us to try.
We had a great shopping experience and came away having bought what is a very comfortable mattress. The staff in the Guildford branch were very helpful. Setting up the finance option was easy. Mattress was delivered to the room we wanted it in and looks great.
A bed of dreams. Comfortable, supportive, welcoming. This is the ultimate mattress. Looking to buy this brand again. Nothing better than a good nights sleep!
After having had a Relyon mattress for many many years there was no doubt my choice could be none other than a Relyon
Really comfy mattress , maintains the softness but is quite sturdy on the back at the same time
