About the Lynx Mattress
Last checked
In the vast world of mattresses, it can be quite challenging to single out the one that best suits your needs and comforts. However, should your quest be targeted toward a mattress that is both firm and supportive with eco-friendly properties, the Lynx Mattress might just catch your pause! Let's delve in for a more comprehensive look at this mattress.
Who is this product for?
The Lynx Mattress, with its 325 open coil springs and firm comfort rating, is ideal for those who prefer sleeping on firmer surfaces and need extra body support. Whether you're an individual who experiences discomfort from inadequate spinal alignment or simply prefer the feel of a firm bed, this mattress caters to your needs effectively. Furthermore, its elements of sustainability, such as the new-life recycled layer, also make it a fantastic option for eco-conscious consumers.
What do we use this product for?
Aside from the obvious use (spoiler alert: it's mainly used for sleeping), the Lynx Mattress serves to assist in addressing the issue of uncomfortable sleep due to poor weight distribution or inadequate support. The robust open coil springs offer balanced support, explicitly designed to evenly distribute body weight and help alleviate pressure points, leading to undisturbed, quality sleep. Additionally, the damask fabric cover provides a soft sleeping surface for those who appreciate a touch of luxury.
What customers liked and disliked
- Liked: Customers have commended the Lynx Mattress for its comfort and value-for-money offering. The mattress was described as 'excellent value' and very comfortable, especially for children. Some customers also appreciated its suitability for a floor bed.
- Disliked: However, some customers were disappointed with the mattress quality and firmness. A number of reviews indicated that the mattress was not as firm as expected, leading to discomfort. There were also concerns over the depth of the mattress and its longevity.
Features you should know about
One of the major appealing features of the Lynx Mattress is its spring system which theoretically offers balanced support for all sleepers. The breathable, hypoallergenic and recycled comfort layer serves dual purpose of adding an element of sustainability and providing a cozy sleep environment. Each mattress is made in the UK and comes with a reassuring 5-year guarantee. The Belgian damask cover adds a touch of elegance and aids in breathability of the mattress.
Our Review
In our expert view, the Lynx Mattress is a mixed bag offering. It certainly shines with its underpinning sustainability efforts and guarantee of quality as affirmed by its kite-mark accreditation. Its affordability, too, cannot be overlooked especially for those on a budget. However, its purported firmness rating seems to have missed the mark based on customer feedback, indicating that more research may be needed to ensure it meets your firmness preference. In all, we recommend the Lynx Mattress for those seeking solid support, sustainability and affordability in one package. However, if you're keen on a very firm mattress, it may be worth considering other options.

Fairly comfortable but perhaps not the firmest for a heavy user. Supports back well enough but might not be ideal for all sleeping styles.
I purchased my Lynx Mattress for a spare/guest bed. I have just had a friend stay overnight on that bed and he said he slept like a log - very comfortable and a good nights sleep.
This is a great mattress: well-made & very well packaged. We chose firm for our guest / grandson's bedroom. Not normally a great sleeper, he sleeps through the night on his new mattress, saying it is 'super comfortable'. We agree & would thoroughly recommend.
We liked the mattress. Not heavy and still comfortable.

Very comfy mattress and a great nights sleep my son loves his new bed will be getting one for my daughter next
A fairly basic mattress suitable fir kids but not an adult
We got this when it was half price, and bought mattress cover which came with a free mattress protector and bed care kit. The mattress is for my little girl but we all love it! It's so comfy. Excellent value.
It's lovely and comfortable, very well made but not as deep as I thought it would be .
Lovely mattress. Bought for grandson's bedroom. Very comfortable. Delivery was great put exactly where I wanted it and old one took away.
It’s lovely and comfortable, very well made but not as deep as I thought it would be .
Not so much firm as uncomfortable! My previous mattress, from Silentnight, was both firmer and more comfortable. This one dips down quite a bit under a person's weight (and I'm quite a small person!) especially if you're sitting up on it. In fact it's too uncomfortable to e.g. sit up in bed and read. I bought it for bedsharing on a very low frame (floor bed) with my baby, and while I think it'll do, especially as she's over 12 months now, I don't think I'd feel particularly safe with a newborn as it just doesn't feel as firm as I'd expected. I do like that it's not too deep, as for a floor bed that's ideal! I am also pleased that it doesn't have a quilted top.
Very comfortableattressfor the bed in my spare room.
