About the Luna Memory 2500 Pocket Hybrid Mattress

Last checked

Pressure relief and edge use define the Luna’s brief. It is a medium to firm rolled hybrid, built around 2500 pocket springs, a reflex-foam support base and a 4cm memory-foam comfort layer under a knitted, hypoallergenic cover with reinforced edges. The call on the spec is fairly clear: a 2500-pocket count with 4cm of memory foam is generous for the rolled hybrid class, where cheaper boxed mattresses often lean more heavily on reflex foam, but the 24cm total depth keeps this in the supportive, contained-feel camp rather than the deep, hotel-style pillow-top category. This is honest rolled-hybrid engineering. The pocket springs should respond more independently under load than an open-coil unit, while the reflex foam gives the mattress its firmer pushback and helps it recover after roll-packing. Edge support is a useful inclusion because memory-foam hybrids can otherwise feel weaker at the perimeter, especially when sitting on the side of the bed. It is single-sided, so care is rotation rather than flipping, and the weights are manageable rather than featherweight: 29kg for a double, 33kg for a king and 40kg for a superking. The 10-year guarantee is strong on paper, although the cover is covered for 12 months.

Supportive firmness, not sink-in softness, defines the fit. Back sleepers and many front sleepers are the clearest match, particularly average-to-heavier adults who want the memory foam to cushion shoulders and hips without letting the pelvis drop too far into the mattress. The 4.6-star average from 330 customer ratings is carried by accounts describing a solid, comfortable feel, easy manoeuvring from the rolled delivery format, quick expansion and, in several happier cases, cooler sleep than expected from memory foam; that lines up with the knitted cover, air-channel design and the thinner 4cm comfort layer rather than a dense slab of heat-holding foam. Couples also get a sensible spec case here, with pocket springs for reduced movement spread and edge reinforcement for more usable width, and one detailed account specifically praises low motion transfer and structured edges. Firmness is the main caveat. The label says medium to firm, but repeated feedback tilts closer to firm, with some finding it too hard and one low-scoring account linking the feel to new back pain. A slight new-mattress odour appears in the feedback, though it is described as short-lived when aired. This suits firmer-feel back sleepers and couples wanting a boxed hybrid with stronger edges; those prioritising plush pressure relief or a more breathable natural-fill surface should look instead at softer pillow-top hybrids or the higher pocket-sprung tier.

Specifications

Manufacturer specifications without the jargon, easy to scan and compare.

10 Year Guarantee

The 10 year guarantee is a great option because you know that your bed will last for a long time. It gives you peace of mind knowing that it'll be there to support you for years to come!Bare in mind, the average mattress typically lasts around 7 years showing the sheer level of quality offered with this mattress, after all, the supplier and manufacturer wouldn't offer a guarantee of this length without the confidence that it would stand the test of time.

24cm deep

Featuring a substantial depth of 24cm, this mattress provides ample cushioning and support, catering to varying sleep preferences with its luxuriously cozy yet supportive feel. The enhanced depth also suggests a higher level of material build, implying improved durability and longevity, encouraging an extended mattress lifespan that's a beneficial investment for the long run.

Medium to Firm

Brandishing a "medium to firm" categorisation, this refers to the desired balance between support and comfort. Typically, such a rating means you'll experience an optimal distribution of your body weight while ensuring pressure points like hips and shoulders won't sink too deeply, thereby resisting counterproductive sagging and promoting aligned posture.

Pocket Springs

Furnished with a generous count of pocket springs, this mattress offers superior reinforcement for your body while sleeping, ensuring each segment receives individualised support. This design brilliantly alleviates pressure points and enhances comfort, without negating the overall mattress durability, guaranteeing you a restful night for years to come.

Knitted cover

A knitted cover spells out a blend of cosiness with breathability, providing a comforting touch that many crave while ensuring your temperature remains well regulated throughout the night. This feature pairs comfort and functionality in a coveted balance, contributing to an intimate sleep environment that is warm, inviting, yet refreshingly aerated.

Hypoallergenic for your peace of mind

Hypoallergenic materials, as indicated by the specification, cater to those with sensitive skin or allergies, reducing the risk of unwanted reactions and ensuring a comfortable sleep. Additionally, it signifies an investment in health-conscious choices, promoting an environment less conductive to the growth of bacteria and dust mites.

Medium to firm support

A medium firm tension, this mattress is ideal for those that need a bit more support than average, perhaps looking for a bit of orthopaedic support while still enjoying a large degree of comfort sprinkled with enough softness to remain comfortableIt's a great choice for back and stomach sleepers, or, those looking for more support.

Rolled-up

Embracing a rolled-up design, this marvellous piece of sleep engineering ensures direct delivery from manufacturer to home, eliminating the need for any intermediary handling. This design also helps to consolidate both space and cost, but be aware it may require up to 48 hours to fully expand and reach optimal comfort levels.

Reflex Foam

Reflex foam, characterised by its solid and supportive nature, aids in even weight distribution, thus minimising pressure points and improving your body alignment during sleep. However, it's worth noting, this type of foam tends to retain heat, which may not be optimal for those who prefer cooler sleeping environments.

Fire Resistant

Ensuring safety during your peaceful slumber, fire resistance is a crucial feature that reduces the risk posed by potential accidents involving flammable materials. Furthermore, it demonstrates the manufacturer's commitment to adhere to strict safety standards, prioritizing your well-being over all else.

Memory Foam

A mattress featuring memory foam guarantees body-conforming comfort, as the material adapts to your unique shape, cradling you for personalized support. However, for individuals who tend to sleep hot, heat retention could be an issue due to the foam's dense cellular structure which traps body heat.

Reinforced mattress edge

A reinforced edge signifies a mattress feature where the borders have been fortified, adding a firmness to the perimeter. This enhancement not only provides bolstered support, but also prevents premature sagging, and in turn amplifies the durability and longevity of your sleep surface.

Hypoallergenic

Hypoallergenic mattresses are the perfect choice for those with allergies or sensitivities, as they protect against allergens and irritants. They're also a great choice for those with asthma or respiratory issues.

Single-sided

Unlike double-sided mattresses that require flipping, a single-sided mattress only needs to be rotated periodically, making maintenance easier.

Frequently Asked Questions For The Luna Memory 2500 Pocket Hybrid Mattress

The questions below are the most common ones BedBoy readers ask when comparing products in this category. Contact the editorial team with a different question, quoting P1751 in the subject line.

Yes, the Luna Memory 2500 Pocket Hybrid Mattress is designed to offer a maximised sleeping surface with durable edge-to-edge support. This means that you should be able to sleep comfortably right up to the very edge without experiencing a 'roll-off' sensation.
Yes, the Luna Memory 2500 Pocket Hybrid Mattress is made hypollergenic. This suggests it's free from allergens which can be important if you are prone to allergies or respiratory problems. With no allergenic materials used in the mattress, you can enjoy a restful, undisturbed sleep without the risk of potential allergy reactions.
Taking into consideration the medium to firm tension of this mattress, side sleepers with an hourglass figure may find they require a slightly softer tension. This is due to the fact that such a body shape may require more sinkage for comfort. However, for back sleepers of an average weight, this level of tension should offer adequate support. Thank you, Giselle
The Luna Memory 2500 Pocket Hybrid Mattress falls in the category of medium to firm, indicating it has a firmer feel than a medium mattress. This level of firmness tends to provide extra support and can be particularly beneficial for both side and back sleepers of average weight. However, if you're looking for more softness or sinkage, particularly if you have an hourglass figure, you might need to consider a slightly softer mattress.
The Luna Memory 2500 Pocket Hybrid Mattress comes with a knitted cover which promotes airflow and increases breathability. So, you can expect a cooler sleep. Furthermore, the inclusion of memory foam and the innate qualities of the Adaptive® cover technology maximise freshness while wicking away moisture, which should further aid in maintaining a cooler sleeping temperature.
It should suit many average-weight side sleepers because the 4cm memory foam eases pressure at the shoulders and hips. Very curvy side sleepers may need more sinkage than this medium-firm build allows.
Back sleepers are one of the best matches. The pocket springs and reflex foam help keep the pelvis level, while the foam top takes some pressure off the ribs and upper body.
The pocket springs should help reduce movement spreading across the bed, as each spring responds separately. Reinforced edges also make more of the full width usable, useful for partners with different body weights.
No, it is single-sided, so it is designed for rotation rather than flipping. That makes day-to-day care simpler, but it does not give the same wear distribution as a double-sided mattress.
It is rated medium-firm, about 4 out of 5. The memory foam gives some surface cushioning, but the springs and reflex foam keep the feel controlled rather than deeply sinking.
The review points to a cleaner, less clammy feel from the knitted cover, hypoallergenic finish and cooling-led foam. Very hot sleepers may still notice the body-hugging nature of memory foam.

This Mattress is easy to manoeuvre when it arrives due to it being rolled. Was surprised at how easy it was to undo after other reviews. We opened it first thing on a bright sunny day with all the windows open and left it uncovered, maybe that why don't appear to have the problem with smell either and my adult son slept on it the same night. It seems to be fairly good quality for the price but that will only really be known after we have slept on it a few months. For me it would be too firm but for him he said it was really comfortable and he has been sleeping better so much so he needs to use an alarm for work now!! Would recommend to anyone who likes a firmer mattress as I think it's firmer than probably described.
