About the Bergen 3 Door Sliding Wardrobe

Last checked

Where hinged doors would eat into floor space, the Bergen uses a three-door sliding format that is aimed at a full bedroom storage role rather than occasional overspill. The useful detail comes from assembled examples: more substantial accounts describe six shelves and three hanging poles, with rails that can be adjusted, giving it a flexible split between folded clothing, longer garments and shorter hanging runs. That is useful in tight rooms. For a three-door sliding wardrobe, that shelf-and-rail mix is generous for the category; the cost engineering sits less in the storage plan than in the build model, because this is a flat-pack wardrobe whose final quality depends heavily on accurate assembly, unlike the sturdier feel usually expected from factory-assembled furniture in a higher price tier. Several happier owners describe the finished piece as attractive, solid-looking and good value, with one paid fitting taking around two hours, which points to a wardrobe that can look far better once professionally built than its self-assembly paperwork suggests. The sliding-door mechanism also changes the handling: it saves clearance in front of the wardrobe, but it demands clean alignment and careful use, with one recent account flagging a finger-trap risk during day-to-day sliding.

In a bedroom where the wardrobe sits close to the bed or a chest of drawers, the sliding doors are the practical reason to consider the Bergen, and buyers who use a mix of shelves and standard hanging space are the ones most likely to see the value. Multiple positive accounts describe it as good-looking, spacious and adaptable, which lines up with the reported internal layout rather than being just a finish-led compliment. Depth is the recurring weakness. Low-scoring feedback repeatedly says clothes have to be pushed back to close the doors, with garments catching on the sliding panels; longer accounts add that bulky coats and wider hangers are a poor match, and one owner even moved the rail positions back by 50mm to reduce door contact. Assembly is the other risk: several accounts mention difficult instructions, incorrect screws or a build that became wobbly before completion, so the wardrobe suits an organised flat-pack builder or a household prepared to pay for fitting more than a casual solo assembly attempt. The Bergen suits space-conscious bedrooms needing flexible shelf-and-rail storage with a polished sliding-door look; those prioritising deep hanging capacity, heavy coats or a simpler build are better served by a deeper factory-assembled wardrobe tier.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Owners describe the wardrobe as beautiful and well worth the money.
  • Recent buyers find the value for money impressive compared to alternatives.
  • Adjustable rails accommodate different types of clothing hangers well.
  • Installers completed assembly quickly, often within two hours.

Cons

  • Multiple reviewers report that the wardrobe lacks sufficient depth for standard clothing sizes.
  • Assembly instructions are frequently criticized as confusing and hard to follow.
  • Several owners mention the wardrobe feels wobbly and unstable after assembly.
  • Buyers express dissatisfaction with the difficulty of using the sliding doors without catching clothes.

Ideal for hanging different types of clothes as rails can be adjusted. Sliding mechanism takes a while to get use to but nothing wrong with it. Watch out for fingers! You could get them trapped if you're not careful. Some of the screws were incorrect but luckily my fitters knew what they were doing.

Good value for money. Installed by recommended fitters within two hours and looks very good in our bedroom. We are now considering getting another for our second bedroom.

Really pleased with this set, looks fantastic and holds all our clothing with some space to spare. Although it's big in size it's doesn't take up loads of space and doesn't make our room feel small like ones we've had in the past. Happy with the quality and the price we paid.

It took way longer to construct than the four hours, but it's solid, great value, includes good shelves and rails. Really happy with overall product. My only comment if it were to be improved is the style of handle as it's not very effective to push and slide from! Doesn't distract form the product at all. Minor detail. Looks great. Fits all my Stuff!

This is a beautiful design which suits our needs. However, the assembly was not as described on the instructions. Advised 4 hours with 2 people. The was not a 4 hour assemble for 1 person. It took a total of 10 hours over 2 days.
