About the Wellow Wooden Bed Frame
Last checked
The Wellow is positioned around a simple brief: a wooden frame for a lighter, Scandi-style room, with the frame itself doing more work than upholstery or storage hardware. It is a solid pine bed frame using FSC-accredited timber, with a cut-out design and a raised profile that leaves visible space beneath the mattress platform. Solid pine is an honest material choice for an affordable wooden bed: softer and more mark-prone than oak or ash, but more convincing than foil-wrapped board when it comes to screw bite, repairability and the feel of a real timber frame. The look sits at the pared-back end of the wooden-bed category, closer to nursery, spare-room and young-adult bedroom furniture than to heavy sleigh or upholstered statement beds. There is no drawer mechanism here. The under-bed space is useful for boxes and seasonal bedding, but it is open storage rather than the concealed capacity of an ottoman frame, so the trade-off is visual neatness versus mechanical simplicity. Hard wooden slats are repeatedly mentioned in the feedback, which points to a firmer platform than sprung-slat frames; that is good for steadiness, though less forgiving for anyone relying on the base to soften a mattress.
Solid pine, labelled fittings and a straightforward slatted platform are the parts that shape how this bed suits real bedrooms. Praise repeatedly centres on sturdiness once assembled, easy instructions, tidy packaging and a better-than-expected quality feel for the money, with the frame used happily in children’s rooms, teenage bedrooms and small doubles where a lower, cleaner headboard profile is useful. The useful caveat is assembly. Although the build is widely described as simple, the queen and small-double comments make clear that a second person helps with alignment and lifting, so this is not quite a one-person flat-pack job in the larger sizes. Delivery timing is the only service complaint in the sample, while the frame itself attracts little structural criticism; where the manufacturer leans on under-bed storage, the practical reality is a stash zone for boxes, not hidden storage for bulky bedding. Couples wanting a basic timber frame should read the repeated steadiness comments alongside the slat feedback, because solid slats can give good support but also make an already firm mattress feel firmer. If you're furnishing a Scandi-leaning spare room, teen room or compact main bedroom, this works. If you're trying to maximise concealed storage or soften the feel of a firm mattress, an ottoman frame or sprung-slat upholstered bed makes more sense.

Solid wooden slatted base - offers firm mattress support
A solid wooden slatted base provides excellent stability, ensuring durability and support for the mattress over time. This feature enhances the longevity of the mattress by promoting better air circulation, which prevents moisture buildup and supports a comfortable night's sleep.
Painted wooden finish - classic wood grain enhanced with colour
Painted wood keeps the natural grain visible while adding a coloured look, which suits bedrooms that want warmth without a plain timber finish. Fine, expect paint to show chips and scratches sooner than an untreated surface, so it may need touch-ups if knocked.
FSC accredited wood - sustainably sourced for a greener future
This product feature indicates that the wood used is sourced in an environmentally responsible manner. It supports sustainable forestry practices, contributing to forest conservation and a reduced ecological footprint.
Minimalist modern design - for a serene, clutter-free sleep sanctuary
A minimalist modern design creates a calming and organised sleeping environment that promotes relaxation. It helps eliminate unnecessary distractions, offering peace and tranquility in the bedroom.

Looks smart and simple, and once built it feels properly steady with good support from the slats. My only gripe is the delivery was slower than expected, but the frame itself does the job well.
Queen bed frame. Couldnt be happier (actually my daughter is happier than me)!!!!
We love that the Wellow bed is super easy to assemble! Its solid wood for extra peace of mind, in classic grey or white to add a modern Scandi feel to your room.
Well packaged, arrived undamaged and on time, easy to assemble, my 15 yo son is very happy with his new bed.
We wanted a small double with a low headboard to fit under the window frame. This fitted the bill perfectly. It was relatively easy to assemble but definitely a two person job. All the screws etc were well packaged and labeled.
Lovely solid bed in grey so easy to put together solid wooden slats love this bed frame looks lovely
Great quality bed- easy to build, durable wood & feels very sturdy. Bought a bed frame recently from a competitor which was absolutely appalling quality, this was a god send replacement ! Very happy with it for my little girl.
Willow bed was easy to assemble and once I put my tried and tested Dreams mattress my nights of rest are pure joy.
Very good quality and very comfortable, I am very happy with my new bed.
