About the Slumberland Air 9.0 Memory REFURBISHED Mattress
Last checked
As a refurbished route into a thick Slumberland memory mattress, the Air 9.0 is best read less like a clean-sheet spec purchase and more like a condition-and-comfort purchase: the value depends on the individual unit arriving with its comfort surface intact. Memory in this context signals a slower, contouring top feel rather than the springy lift of open-coil mattresses, and the repeated comfort praise fits that construction class; several buyers describe it as immediately comfortable once they adjusted to its height. The refurbishment label is the defining specification call. At this tier, a refurbished branded mattress can beat a new budget all-foam model for perceived substance, but it also shifts risk from published layer credentials to wear history, which matters more when the surface is foam-led and single-sided. Its height is a real ownership detail, not just a display impression: one longer piece of feedback says the mattress adds enough depth to require deep fitted sheets, and the same comment says it cannot be flipped because of the raised upper comfort section. That makes rotation more important than flipping for keeping impressions even, especially where memory foam is doing the pressure-relief work above the support structure.
The memory-foam comfort brief suits side sleepers and back sleepers who want cushioning with a steadier, slightly firmer feel than a soft sink-in bed; the strongest praise clusters around comfort, better sleep, back support and the sense that the refurbished unit felt close to new. Average-weight adults are the safest match, because they are more likely to load the foam enough for pressure relief without overwhelming any pre-existing settlement in the surface; lighter sleepers wanting a plush cradle may find it firmer than expected, while heavier bodies or two sleepers sharing the full width have more reason to worry about dips. The negative feedback is specific rather than vague: one complaint describes metalwork or a frame edge protruding at all four corners, and another flags pronounced hollows on both sides that pull the sleeper away from a level position. Those are condition problems, not normal memory-foam behaviour. Heat feedback is sparse, so the safer assumption is the usual memory-foam compromise: closer contouring can feel cosy, but it will not breathe like a pocket-sprung mattress with natural fillings. This lands well for a spare room or value-led main bed where comfort and brand substance matter more than pristine provenance; anyone sensitive to surface dips, sharing nightly across the full width, or needing predictable edge condition will be safer with a new pocket-sprung mattress or a higher-grade memory-foam model.

I have never slept so well, having bought this mattress recently to move into my new house. It is just so comfortable, a little firmer than I am used to but works really well for my bad back.
Good. Best available for value. Pleased with purchase.
It is just what we needed no different to new. Staff were polite and informed.
A very comfortable mattress. Top notch product and reputation. More than happy to recommend.
Extremely comfy and adds height to your bed! Only downside is that you can't flip it due to the extra bit on top. Also adds extra height so deep fitted sheets are needed as doesn't fit standard sheets!
It us just so comfy. Took a while to get used to the thickness, but once you're up on it, its almost indescribably comfortable.
