About the Jay-Be Grand Elite 80cm Folding Bed
Last checked
The Jay-Be Grand Elite is an 80cm folding bed, so its composition sits in the guest-bed category rather than the fixed bed-frame category. Compact storage is the point. At 80cm wide, it is narrower than a standard UK single at 90cm, and that is an honest compromise for a fold-away unit: the space saved in a garage, spare room or cupboard matters more here than the full sleeping width expected from a permanent bedstead. That puts it closer to the occasional folding-bed class than to a slatted wooden bedstead or upholstered divan, where footprint, headboard styling and underbed clearance are part of the furniture brief. The practical build story is therefore about how easily it opens, refolds and moves, rather than how it dresses a bedroom. A folding frame also changes the storage trade-off: it does not add drawer or ottoman capacity, but it removes the need to keep a spare bed permanently assembled, which is often the better answer in homes where guest use is intermittent.
Hosts buying for grandchildren or occasional overnight visitors are the clearest match, because the strongest praise centres on comfort, easy folding and the ability to tuck the bed away neatly between stays. The wheels are repeatedly treated as a useful detail, especially by households moving it between a garage and bedroom, and the value-for-money comments line up with the straightforward 80cm folding-bed brief rather than promising the feel of a permanent full-size single. Storage is the chief feature. The main limitation is the same one the specification implies: an 80cm sleeping width is practical for children, teenagers or shorter guest stays, but it gives less room than a standard single, so restless adult sleepers or anyone expecting nightly use may find the format restrictive. There is no repeated complaint in the supplied customer evidence about awkward refolding, poor comfort or movement across the floor, but the positive signal is built around occasional family use rather than years of continuous adult sleeping. Best for families needing a compact, comfortable spare bed for visiting children or light guest use. Less good for a main sleep setup, where a fixed 90cm single bedstead or a higher-tier guest bed would do better.

Just what we need for when grandson stays folds away and compact
We bought three of these for when our grandchildren come to stay. They are very comfortable, easy unfold and re fold and store nicely in our garage. The wheels make them very easy to move around.
Very comfortable and good value for money. I would definitely recommend this bed to anyone.
