The Sleepeezee Regency Kenilworth 1600 Pocket Sprung Mattress is a very firm, natural-leaning pocket sprung option that clearly targets sleepers who want proper structure rather than sink. In-store, it feels reassuringly planted and supportive the moment weight goes on it, with a crisp, no-nonsense surface that stays level rather than hugging the body. Done well, it is the sort of mattress that can make an older, tired bed feel like a distant memory. Done badly, a very firm mattress can feel punishing, and this one sits firmly on the right side of that line for the people it is designed for, but it will not flatter everyone.
This is a pocket sprung mattress built around responsive, individually wrapped springs for targeted support. It uses bamboo fillings, paired with an antibacterial bamboo blend cover, which gives it a fresher, more breathable character than many synthetic-feeling firm mattresses. Enhanced edge support is a key part of the build, designed to prevent that perched, roll-off sensation that some pocket spring models suffer from. It is made in the UK, and it comes with a 100 Night Comfort Guarantee, which matters with a very firm tension as it can take time for the body to adapt.
The comfort rating is very firm, and it delivers exactly that. In-store, the surface feels steady and resistant, with minimal initial give, then a supportive pushback from the spring unit underneath. It is not a pillow-top style “hotel squish” mattress, it is more about keeping the body level. The bamboo elements lend a slightly more refined, less plasticky feel through the cover than some firmer beds, but the defining trait remains its tension. This is a mattress that encourages sleeping on top of it, not in it.
The pocket springs do a credible job of holding the body evenly, which is where this mattress earns its keep. For back sleeping, the very firm tension helps keep hips from dropping too low, and that translates into a straighter, more neutral feel through the spine. The “pressure relieving features” make the firmness more liveable than a bare, board-like mattress, but pressure relief still comes second to alignment here. Anyone who needs deeper cushioning at the hip and shoulder will likely find it too uncompromising over a full night.
Because the springs are individually wrapped, movement is better contained than on traditional open coil beds. In-store, it feels stable when shifting position, and it has the kind of controlled response that tends to suit couples. Customer feedback also leans positive on reduced partner disturbance, which fits the pocket spring design brief.
The bamboo fillings and naturally breathable approach are a genuine plus for a firm mattress, which can otherwise feel a bit sealed and flat. Combined with the airflow you typically get from a spring core, the Kenilworth gives a cooler, fresher impression than many dense foam-heavy alternatives. It is not a “cold to the touch” specialist cooling mattress, but it reads as sensibly breathable and comfortable through the night.
Edge support is one of its stronger practical wins. Sitting on the side in-store, the perimeter holds up well and feels less collapsible than many pocket sprung mattresses at this price point. That extra stability makes the sleeping surface feel more usable from corner to corner, and it will suit anyone who regularly sleeps nearer the edge or needs a steadier platform for getting in and out of bed.
The mattress is made in the UK and positioned as being expertly made to order. The 100 Night Comfort Guarantee is particularly relevant here, because a very firm mattress can feel excellent for support but still require an adjustment period. Delivery experiences in customer feedback are mixed, with at least one report of packaging arriving damaged and minor marking, so it is worth inspecting on arrival and raising any issues immediately. On the whole, the mattress itself gets far stronger feedback than the delivery experience.
This mattress is at its best for dedicated back sleepers who want a very firm, properly supportive feel that keeps the pelvis lifted and the spine aligned. It can also suit some front sleepers who need a flatter, firmer surface to avoid the lower back dipping. It is also a strong choice for couples who value stability and reduced partner motion, and for anyone who appreciates a cooler, more breathable finish rather than a warm, enveloping foam sensation.
Side sleepers, particularly those with more pronounced curves or anyone who is pressure-point prone at the shoulder and hip, are unlikely to get the sink they need from this tension. In-store, it presents as unyielding at the points where side sleepers typically need the mattress to give way. Anyone chasing a plush, cuddly, contouring feel should look elsewhere, because this mattress prioritises posture and structure over softness.
Customer feedback strongly favours the firmness done right, with lots of praise for back support, better sleep quality, and waking with fewer aches. Several comments highlight how quickly they fell asleep and how much more refreshed they felt, which aligns with a supportive, stable surface. Edge support also gets direct praise, with users noting that the sides do not collapse when sitting on the edge. There are also repeated mentions of a comfortable, cool night’s sleep, which supports the bamboo and breathable build story.
The main product-related criticism is simply that it can feel firmer than expected, even when the buyer generally likes it overall. That is not a flaw so much as the reality of a very firm tension, it is a decisive feel. Separately, at least one customer had a poor delivery experience involving torn packaging and a label issue that interfered with accessing care and guarantee information, which is frustrating on a premium purchase.
The Sleepeezee Regency Kenilworth 1600 is an impressively confident, very firm pocket sprung mattress that gets the fundamentals right: sturdy posture-led support, strong edges, and a fresher, more breathable finish than many firmer rivals. The in-store feel is unapologetically firm, which is exactly why it works so well for back sleepers, but it also limits its appeal for side sleepers who need more cushioning. For the right person, it is a genuinely worthwhile upgrade that can transform sleep quality. For the wrong person, it will simply feel too hard, no matter how well made it is.

Nice and firm with solid edge support and it sleeps fairly cool, so I’ve been waking up feeling more supported without it feeling too harsh.
Although I'm generally happy with the mattress, it's a bit firmer than I'm used to but it is comfortable and that is what I'm awarding the 4 stars for. However, the delivery by the Dreams team wasn't what I expected. I was not contacted by anyone after the delivery to see if everything was OK, it actually wasn't OK as the packaging around a very expensive mattress was ripped in a corner and mildly stained the mattress which in fairness was easy to remedy but that's not the point, it should have been perfect! Secondly an adhesive label reading 'recommend team handling' was stuck over an OCR code which I had to scan to find out terms of the guarantee and care for the mattress, obviously taking the adhesive label off also took the OCR with it.....quite comical really. So to conclude a reasonably good mattress let down by a company with little or no sales backup. This was the first opportunity I had to make my experience known.
