My initial impressions were dominated by its feel. Stretched over the intricately structured mattress, the luxurious soft-touch, breathable stretch knit cover felt like a gentle caress against the skin. Simply put, it exuded soothing comfort—and I’d barely even begun! The mattress is delivered rolled conveniently in a box which is an absolute blessing for those torturous manoeuvres up the narrow British staircases.
One of the main highlights of the Simba Sleep Hybrid Ultra Mattress, that I truly admired, is its mindfully crafted, high-tech, triple-layered Aerocoil® conical springs which total to a whopping 6300. These are not just any springs, these are intelligently responsive springs which are designed to offer optimum personalised, contoured pressure relief and support. The real cherry on top here is that these little pillars of wonders do not just serve an aesthetic purpose. They go a step further. They enhance air flow, which aids in regulating your body temperature as you sleep, and diminish motion transfer for what they call the 'zero disturbance factor', dealing a significant blow to the nagging issue of partner disturbance during sleep.
Immersion gets a whole new meaning with the Simba Hybrid Ultra Mattress’s FusionCool™ layer. Comprised of naturally sustainable wool, kapok fibres and charcoal-infused bamboo, this layer tirelessly works to create a temperature-regulating microclimate inside your mattress to ensure you enjoy a “fresh” sleep environment. My first encounter with this feature was rather surprising and I could instantly feel the material interacting uniquely with my body, the effects of which I’m sure would be magnified during a full night’s sleep.
I was honestly intrigued by the dual Simbatex® foam layers—two 25mm-tall pillows of comfort that not only amped-up the cushioning factor but also worked meticulously to improve air circulation. Their graphite infusion means they actively help release heat and humidity, promising a fresher sleep experience—a feature that we can all appreciate.
Support in a mattress is non-negotiable, and the Simba Sleep Hybrid Ultra Mattress certainly does not negotiate on that. Their intelligent incorporation of the PureLift™ support boosting layer, a benevolent blend of latex and coconut fibres, took me by surprise as it provided a noticeable boost to the mattress's support factor; something I believe future sleepers will truly appreciate. It was clear that they had not cut any corners when it came to ensuring a stable, restful sleep.
The CertiPUR® stabilising core foam offers the mattress its backbone, its complete integrity and quality. Each contour, each pressure point of your body is responded to with precision. The SupportCore™ Sprung Base added an extra level of support and maintained breathability, a quality I noticed during my in-store testing that is guaranteed to be beneficial during warmer nights. Needless to say, I believe the mattress offers a sleep experience that would feel tailored and would be responsive to the sleeper.
While the advanced features mentioned above spell out the Simba Sleep Hybrid Ultra Mattress's superior quality and thoughtful design, it's the minor details that sew together this exquisite piece of sleeping technology. MTick accredited as being menopause-friendly by GenM for its potential to alleviate night sweats—a critical detail which puts the brand ahead in terms of reaching a broader audience, in my opinion.
Also, the cool-touch treatment of Stratos® on the top cover of this mattress proved to be a small yet indispensable detail that pays off by providing a comfortable sleep throughout the year. While major aspects like the various advanced layers and technologies significantly contribute to the comfort and support of the mattress, it's these minor inclusions that shout out Simba Sleep’s commitment to serving all customers, irrespective of their unique requirements.
However, no product is perfect and during my test, there were aspects that I believe could see improvement. The first gripe—I found the zip-off top cover a bit fiddly to handle. Although a minor detail, I feel, a smoother zip system would perfect the otherwise well-thought-out product.
Another point of contention is the 'medium to firm' comfort choice. While during my in-store test the firmness seemed adequate, especially for back sleepers, I have reason to believe side sleepers, particularly those with an hourglass figure, might require a softer tension for a more tailored sinkage. However, this is highly subjective, and the firmness level can be a perfect fit for many.
Lastly, while Simba Sleep provides a free 10-Year guarantee, in my experience, a longer warranty period or a trial period can go a long way towards winning the trust of a customer. Not everyone will be comfortable investing in a product without getting the chance to spend a considerable amount of time on it or knowing their investment is covered for an extended period.
Overall, my in-store test experience of the Simba Sleep Hybrid Ultra Mattress was impressive. Loaded with a combination of smart technologies and well-thought-out design considerations, it offers a personalised sleep experience that is a level above its competition. With its unique blend of comfort and support, it’s evident that Simba Sleep knows how to craft a fabulous mattress. Of course, there is always room to improve and the firmness tension could be tweaked a bit. However, I find this mattress promising and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a sleep experience that combines modern technology, comfort, and support.

Had an okay experience with this, it's certainly more toward the firm side. The cool-touch cover is a nice addition but don't expect any miracles from the temperature regulation features.
Specifications without the jargon, easy to understand and digest.
A height of 34cm often indicates a mattress that features multiple layers of material, providing a balanced composition of support and comfort. The density, however, could make it a touch challenging for people with mobility issues or for those preferring a low-profile bed setup.
