About the Hyde and Sleep Refine Air Foam Mattress
Last checked
Buyers wanting foam without the dead, slow-sinking feel are the obvious audience for the Hyde & Sleep Refine Air Foam Mattress. It is an all-foam mattress built around five cushioning layers: open-cell Aurora® airflow foam, two layers of Aurora® foam pods, and a high-density base foam profiled into three support zones for the shoulders, back and hips. It is not a spring mattress. The practical point is that the “bounce” is being created by shaped foam pods rather than metal coils, so the feel is intended to sit between a conventional memory-foam slab and a pocket-sprung hybrid. For this construction class, the zoned base is a useful step up from plain cut foam, while the pod layers are an unusual comfort device; the conservative part is that all the support still depends on foam resilience over time, not a separate sprung unit. The knitted cover and open-cell foam also make the cooling claim more credible than it would be on dense, closed-cell memory foam, although “air” in the name should be read as airflow engineering rather than a floating sensation. The surface is described by users as medium-firm rather than hard, with a plush top feel sitting over a more supportive core, which matches the layered spec better than a simple firm foam block would.
The open-cell foam, podded comfort layers and zoned base make this best aligned with side and back sleepers who want pressure relief but still need a held-up lumbar area. Praise repeatedly centres on better sleep, a cushioned but supportive feel, and reduced morning back ache, especially from people replacing an older or unsupportive mattress; the spring-like rebound of the pods is also noticed, with the mattress feeling lighter and livelier than traditional memory foam. Back pain is the dividing line. Where the feel fails, the complaint is not heat or motion transfer but discomfort through the night, with one stronger long-term warning that the upper foam stopped recovering properly after a few years and left lasting dips despite rotation. That durability note matters because foam-only builds can be comfortable early on yet more dependent on material recovery than pocket-sprung hybrids, particularly for heavier sleepers or couples with a large weight difference. Temperature feedback is more positive: the breathable foam and knitted cover line up with comments that it sleeps cooler than dense memory foam, although hot sleepers who need maximum airflow may still prefer a pocket-sprung or latex hybrid with less foam mass. For medium-firm foam comfort with a more responsive feel, this is the right call. For heavier bodies, pronounced back-pain sensitivity or buyers prioritising long-term shape retention, look at a higher-spec pocket-sprung hybrid tier instead.

100 Night Comfort Guarantee - gives you peace of mind when you buy
A 100 Night Comfort Guarantee allows for a trial period where the product can be tested in your own home environment to see if it meets personal comfort standards. If it doesn't meet your expectations, it can be returned for a refund or exchange, offering flexibility and assurance in purchasing decisions.
Medium comfort rating - balances softness and support
A medium comfort rating offers a balanced experience, providing adequate support without being too firm, while still ensuring a gentle, plush feel for relaxation. It caters well to a variety of sleeping positions, making it an adaptable choice for those who desire both comfort and support.
Supportive foam filling - offers comfort and stability
Support feels steady and even, which can help reduce pressure points and keep the body aligned through the night. Foam can hold more warmth and give less bounce than spring options, so sleepers who run hot or like a lively feel may not love it.
Advanced cooling technology - regulates temperature for uninterrupted sleep
Advanced cooling technology ensures the surface remains comfortable throughout the night to reduce the likelihood of overheating. This feature aids in maintaining a consistent sleeping environment, contributing to better rest and relaxation.
Uniquely designed foam pods - are bouncy like springs, responsive like foam

Comforts bang on with a nice supportive feel and it doesnt get overly warm, though the delivery was a bit of a faff.
Very happy with this purchase. The comfort is top-notch and it offers substantial support for a good night's sleep.
Amazing mattress highly recommend
This is an amazing mattress, have never slept so well and would strongly recommend this to anyone.
The mattress is comfortable and supporting. With my old mattress I would often wake with back ache, but since sleeping on my new Hyde & Sleep Refine Air Foam Mattress I no longer have back problems and as a result sleep better.
Was slightly concerned as this mattress was softer and lighter than my previous one. However all is ok. I'm back to sleeping normally.
My daughter loves this mattress! Sleeps like a log!
After having second hand mattresses for years, my partner and I decided to treat ourselves too a brand new mattress and we could not be happier. The mattress is medium firm and is the perfect blend of soft and cozy whilst also being supportive of your back! Definitely recommend!

Replaced my 10 year old sprung mattress, with a foam top. After trying the mattress selector machine and working my way through the choices provided, I chose the Hyde and Sleep. It really is comfortable and gives excellent support.
Using the sleep comfort system in store it detected what type of mattress I needed. I was directed towards my type of mattress and allowed to try them all, staff were pleasant and helpful and knowledgeable about all the different mattresses. I was able to pick the one for me quite quickly.
Very comfortable to sleep on, regulates temperature well.
