About the Staples and Co Exquisite Hotel Height Split Headboard

Last checked

A bedroom being dressed around a tall focal point is the setting this Staples & Co headboard is aiming for. The split format is the useful detail. Hotel-height headboards sit closer to the boutique-hotel register than the standard low upholstered board class, and splitting the panel is a practical concession: large statement boards can be awkward through stair turns, tight landings and older terrace doorways, so a divided construction is more installer-friendly than a single slab of the same visual scale. The supplied detail is lean, so the strongest read comes from the product name and the buyer feedback rather than fabric specification or edge construction. What does come through clearly is the intended look: this is not a quiet background board, but a tall decorative piece meant to make the bed feel more finished and formal. A repeated praise point is the sense of luxury it adds to the room, with the headboard described as glamorous, beautiful and well made rather than merely functional. That reaction matches the “hotel height” positioning: scale is doing much of the work here, giving the bed a dressed, suite-style outline that a shorter strut headboard rarely achieves.

The split hotel-height build makes most sense with a divan-style base or an upholstered bedroom scheme where the headboard is expected to carry the room visually. Praise repeatedly centres on the finished effect, especially the way it lifts a plain bedroom into something more polished; the positive comments are about ambience as much as construction, which is exactly where tall decorative boards earn their place over standard-height alternatives. It suits calm hotel-inspired rooms, modern classic schemes and anyone who wants the bed wall to feel intentional without adding heavy furniture around it. Low ceilings and very small rooms are the caution, because a tall headboard can crowd the wall even when the footprint of the bed has not changed. The main safety complaint in the available feedback concerns sharp staples found under the associated base after delivery; it appears as a single substantive warning rather than a repeated fault pattern, but it is serious enough that careful inspection around the underside and packaging points is sensible once installed. Maintenance is also less forgiving than with timber: large decorative headboards show dust, hand marks and knocks more readily because the visible surface area is the point of the design. Statement-divan rooms get the most out of this. Compact rooms or buyers needing a low, visually quiet back panel get too little - a standard-height upholstered headboard tier makes more sense.

Headboard and divan base are beautiful. However, when dusting under the bed I found many very sharp staples hanging out from under the base, I'm presuming these are from the packaging and leaflets that were attached to the bed and not removed correctly. These staples are very sharp and could potentially cause an accident!
