About the Merton 3 Door Hinged Wardrobe
Last checked
People considering the Merton 3 Door Hinged Wardrobe are shopping in the full-size freestanding wardrobe band, not a compact guest-room unit or a fitted run. The core format is simple: three hinged doors from Bensons for Beds, with customer feedback pointing to a mirrored element, internal hanging space and a high shelf above one rail section. Door swing needs clear floor space. A three-door hinged layout is a sensible middle-capacity choice, broader than a two-door wardrobe but still less space-efficient than sliding-door wardrobes in tight rooms, because every door needs room to open properly. The standout practical detail is the wheeled base mentioned in recent feedback; on a large wardrobe, that is more useful than it sounds, as many freestanding carcass wardrobes become awkward to reposition once assembled and loaded. The storage layout is generous in basic hanging volume, but not especially tailored: the comments suggest long hanging and shelf space rather than a drawer-heavy or modular interior. Assembly and installation are part of the ownership picture here, too, because joining units together and wall-fixing both come up in feedback, which makes accurate levelling and proper securing more important than the product name alone suggests.
As a main-bedroom storage piece, the Merton works best where hanging capacity, a neutral finish and a mirror are more important than a highly customised interior. Praise tends to focus on appearance and capacity: the neutral Kashmire finish is described as easy to live with, the wardrobe looks smart once placed, and the interior holds more than some expected. Quality control is the weak point. Repeated criticism centres on finish and fitting details, including damaged or misaligned doors, chipped screw recesses, loose debris inside the carcass and sharp metal around a door screw; that undercuts the polished look promised by the better comments. Installation also needs attention, as one safety-related complaint says wall fixing was claimed but not actually done, while another found linking wardrobes together difficult. The high shelf and rail position may also frustrate shorter people, because the hanging rail can feel uncomfortably high rather than naturally reachable. This suits a main bedroom that needs a smart, roomy hinged wardrobe without fitted-furniture spend; for shorter users, or households that will notice hinge alignment and carcass finish closely, the safer search is a higher-price assembled wardrobe range or a fitted wardrobe service.

Love the neutral kashmire colour. The wardrobes are well put together and each wardrobe comes with wheels making them easy to move. The design makes it easy to add more wardrobes or draws. They are very elegant looking. So happy with my purchase.
Was pleased with wardrobe but dissapionted with the men who installed it who said they had done me a favour and fixed it to the wall when in fact they hadn't...I would have preferred them to be honest so no accidents could occur
Very nice looking in the room. Well finished though being a meticulous person there were a few very little points to note. I got a metal splinter in my finger from one of the door screws. Was checking the screw recesses which were chipped slightly. Could not see on the outside but maybe quality checks should pick little faults up. Happy anyway with my choice. Gordon.
Great quality and looks great in my room.
Very good quality!
I am very happy with me wardrobe plenty of room in it best wardrobe I have bought
Was not aware that the wardrobe did not have a hanging rail under a high shelf which means the hanging rails are an uncomfortable stretch for a short person. On the plus side the wardrobe hols a lot and the mirror is good.
Great product very happy only downside difficult join wardrobes together delivery men very helpful
