About the Kimberley Upholstered Bedside Table

Last checked

As a companion piece for an upholstered Dreams bed, the Kimberley is aimed at keeping the bedside visually continuous rather than introducing a separate wood or metal accent. It is a fabric-upholstered bedside table with two drawers, a choice of colours and a tempered-glass top, so the useful surface is wipeable even though the surrounding case has the softer, textile finish of a bed frame. The glass earns its place. Fabric-topped bedside furniture can look smart on day one but is more vulnerable to cup marks, cosmetics and dust-darkening; tempered glass is a sensible upgrade for this construction class, especially beside ottoman and upholstered frames where matching fabric carries more of the design. Two drawers is standard for a bedside cabinet, not especially generous when compared with small three-drawer chests, but it is the right layout for night-time items, chargers, books and smaller clothing rather than bulk storage. Capacity rests on drawer depth, not drawer count. The ready-assembled experience comes through strongly in customer feedback, which gives it an advantage over flat-pack laminate bedside cabinets where home assembly can affect drawer alignment, knob fitting and the squareness of the case.

Fabric upholstery, smooth drawer fronts and the glass surface put this at the softer, coordinated end of bedroom furniture, especially for rooms already using Dreams’ Hopkins, Jenkins or similar upholstered bed frames. Praise repeatedly centres on the finished look, with several buyers describing it as a neat match to the bed rather than a standalone statement piece, and the proportions are often treated as a plus because it does not dominate the side of the bed. The storage gets a better reception than the two-drawer spec alone might suggest, with deep-feeling drawers and enough space for routine bedside clutter, while the cabinet itself is often described as solid and good value for the finish. The quality story is less even once the runners are involved: criticism centres on drawers that feel light or basic, with repeated faults including bent metal runners, broken plastic wheels, jammed drawers and damaged units on arrival. The upholstery and glass can look the part, but the moving hardware decides whether the table feels substantial every evening. This suits a bedroom where matching upholstery, compact scale and tidy bedside storage are the priority; anyone wanting weighty drawer action, heirloom-style joinery or a more forgiving delivery-fault experience should consider a higher-tier assembled wooden cabinet with sturdier runners.

Absolutely love these bedside tables. Inlay glass is an added touch and I love the fact that it cant move. Perfect height against our new Osaka Bed and Sealy mattress. Comes assembled and easy enough to pop the handles on. 25% off too as we purchased a bed. Very happy!

Good quality, perfect match. Slightly on the pricey side and the drawers don't have any soft close mechanisms

This matching bedside table is the perfect addition to our Hopkins Fabric Upholstered Ottoman Bed Frame. The oatmeal colour for both is ideal for our colour scheme. The table is lightweight but sturdy and provides us with the storage we need right next to our bed.

They are just what I needed. My previous headboard included 2 side drawers so the storage on these is just what I need. The drawers run smoothly and they match the headboard so I am really happy.

I liked the bedside chest, it is well constructed and the drawers operate nicely, my only niggle is that it is too low relative to the height of the bed. Considering it is recommended to go along the bed I bought I would have expected it to have adequate height to suit. I would not recommend it to go with the bed I bought.

Overall quality is good. Deep drawers is a downside, as I have to buy more socks to fill it. Lol
