About the Felix Midsleeper Bed Frame
Last checked
A raised midsleeper layout defines the Felix, with the sleeping deck lifted above child-bedroom storage rather than presented as a plain bed frame, so the furniture footprint does more than hold a mattress. The steps are used for storage and buyer feedback mentions drawers plus a pull-out shelf, placing it in the space-saving cabin-bed class where practicality comes from packed-in functions rather than heavier timber sections or a showpiece finish. The value is storage, not joinery. For this construction type, the spec is honest rather than generous: compared with a simple wooden bedstead, the cleverness sits in room efficiency, while the compromise is a much more involved panel-and-fixing build. Finished strength draws reasonable praise, and the bed is repeatedly liked once it is in place, especially in a small box room where separate storage furniture would crowd the floor. Adhesive marks can damage the finish.
Families trying to reclaim a child’s box room fit the brief best, because the strongest positive theme is not style or premium materials but the way sleeping space, steps and storage are condensed into one piece. Small rooms are the sweet spot. Assembly is the stress point, with repeated frustration around the advertised build time: two-person builds still stretched to many hours, and one otherwise pleased household found the pull-out shelf difficult enough to leave off. The visible fixings also attract criticism, and missing screw-hole covers or thin disguise details make the finished bed feel less polished than its all-in-one concept suggests. For day-to-day use, the frame suits a child who needs storage close at hand, rather than an older teenager expecting a more grown-up furniture look. Best for a child’s compact bedroom where storage matters more than polish. Less good for buyers wanting premium detailing or a simple evening build, who would do better with a higher mid-range cabin bed or a plain wooden bedstead plus separate storage.

The bed in principle is ok, Below are the pros and cons. Pros Saves on storage space Clever design (makes use of steps as extra storage. Overall feels sturdy enough Cons It is a long job to put together! Took me and one other person a lot longer thant the estimated time! It's not overly pleasing on the eye, only minor attempts (a few stickers) to hide the fixings Probably my biggest issue is the wasted space underneath the bed itself. I'm sure that they could incorporate a holed at one end for access/ storage.
The bed was really easy to put together and fits brilliantly into my daughter's small box room. It's a fabulous space saver piece of furniture. We're over the moon with it and would definitely recommend it to other people who don't have a lot of room in their children's bedrooms.
Very pleased with this bed frame but it took 2 people around 6 hours to assemble it instead of the 2 as described. Also there was a packet of screw hole covers missing
Bed looks fab set up. Very difficult to build. Took two people the best part of a day to construct and we still couldn't get the pull out shelf fitted so had to leave it off. Made the mistake of sticking a picture to the drawers with sellotape and when we removed it, it took the white coating off and had to glue it back on with pritt stick. Love the bed just don't put any stickers on it and clear a day to build it not the two hours as suggested on the instructions.
