Firm comfort support rating - feels solid and supportive

A firm comfort support rating indicates a mattress that provides a robust sleep surface, offering substantial support for the spine and pressure points. This level of firmness is particularly well-suited for individuals who prefer a stable and supportive sleeping area, often helpful for those with back pain or those who sleep on their stomach or back.

100 Night Comfort Guarantee - gives you peace of mind when you buy

A 100 Night Comfort Guarantee allows for a trial period where the product can be tested in your own home environment to see if it meets personal comfort standards. If it doesn't meet your expectations, it can be returned for a refund or exchange, offering flexibility and assurance in purchasing decisions.

Contouring memory foam - adapts to your unique body shape

The memory foam layer customizes its shape to match the body's contours, ensuring improved support and pressure relief during sleep. This feature enhances comfort by evenly distributing weight, potentially reducing pressure points and alleviating discomfort.

Traditional open springs - for even support across the mattress

Frequently Asked Questions For The Dreams Workshop Billingham Traditional Spring Memory Mattress

The questions below are the most common ones BedBoy readers ask when comparing products in this category. Contact the editorial team with a different question, quoting 111-00490 in the subject line.

The soft-touch damask cover not only provides a luxurious and smooth finish, thereby enhancing the overall look of the mattress, but it also aids in the longevity of the mattress. It is designed for durability, and it ensures that the memory foam and traditional open springs are securely in place, promoting a long-lasting product lifespan.
Surely, this mattress provides a firmer support system, however, it doesn’t compromise on comfort. The integration of pressure-relieving memory foam ensures that key joints in your body are cushioned for an exceptional night’s rest. While it's true that firm mattresses can be uncomfortable for side sleepers, people who sleep on their back or stomach often find them highly comfortable due to the support provided by the firm base. This coupled with the memory foam top layer can make for an extremely comfortable sleeping environment. Thanks, Gary.
Keeping this mattress in good shape, involves regular rotation rather than flipping. It's a single-sided mattress which means flipping it over isn't required, instead, it's recommended to rotate it regularly to ensure even wear and longevity.
Optimal comfort from this mattress may well be experienced by those who sleep on their backs or their stomachs. The firm comfort grade offers excellent support, thus making it suitable for this group of sleepers. The pressure-relieving memory foam acts to evenly distribute body weight, maximising support from head to toe. Still, side sleepers or those with hourglass figures might find this mattress less comfortable due to its firmness.
This mattress is a product of industry expertise with over two decades of bedmaking knowledge. The fillings are held in place by traditional tufts, offering durability and the soft-touch damask cover gives it an elegant finish. The mattress is crafted in the UK from the Dreams Workshop collection, strongly suggesting a promise of quality and craftsmanship.
It may suit stomach sleepers who need a flatter support plane. The firm tension can help reduce lower-back bowing when lying face down, though the surface cushioning is still modest.
Back sleepers are the strongest match, especially if you want the pelvis held up rather than dipping into the bed. Average-to-heavier back sleepers should make best use of the firm support.
Side sleepers may find it too upright, particularly curvier or lighter people. The firm open-spring base and tufted surface leave less room for shoulder and hip sinkage, even with memory foam on top.
Couples get a consistent feel across the width, but the linked spring unit can pass movement through the mattress. If one person is restless, motion isolation is likely weaker than on a pocket-sprung design.
It is rated firm at 5 out of 5. The feel is support-first, with a flatter, more uniform pushback from the open-spring base rather than deep cushioning.
The open spring interior leaves air space to aid ventilation. The memory foam layer can still feel closer than fibre or wool, so it is not the coolest type of surface described.

Feels properly firm but still comfy once youve had a few nights on it, and it looks nice with the tufting. Only thing is it was a bit hard at first, but its been fine since.

Quality product with noticeable firm support. Great for back sleepers and the memory foam layer adds a comforting touch.

This mattress was very firm to start with, which made it uncomfortable as its a one sided mattress and can't be turned over but with use it has softened, the comfort layer is not noticeable at first due to the damask cover but again over a few days it has become softer on my hips and shoulders making it much more supportive. It is a little bouncy but as we only had a single it was fine.

The mattress is of decent standard although from obviously the lower end of the price range. The mattress is fairly light so would be ideal for older customers or people a bit more physically challenged to be able to rotate or flip over than some of the other thicker heavier mattresses.

My son has been using this mattress. It's quite basic, bouncy and firm. He's 16 and just under 9 stone and used to a pocket spring / memory foam combi. I was expecting him to be more negative given the delta in spec however he was surprisingly positive and as a result spends even more time in bed.
