About the Tech Memory Motion Plushtop Adjustable Divan Set Mattress
Last checked
Buyers looking at the Tech Memory Motion Plushtop are really considering a mattress-and-adjustable-base system, not a conventional standalone mattress. The motorised base is the real differentiator. The customer evidence points to head-and-foot adjustment by remote, used for sitting up to read, watching TV and changing sleeping angle; in construction terms that puts the product closer to the lifestyle adjustable-bed class than to a standard divan-and-mattress package. The plushtop memory element suggests a cushioned, slower-response surface over a flexible mattress designed to bend with the base, so the comfort story is pressure relief and position control rather than the spring-count or hand-tufted natural-fill narrative seen in the £700+ pocket-sprung tier. That is an honest trade-off for this build class: the money is going into articulation and the divided base arrangement, while the plush top adds softness and depth but also creates practical consequences for bedding. Customers repeatedly describe the bed as comfortable and sleep improving, and the repeated use case is being able to elevate the upper body or legs rather than simply lying flat. The spec is generous on function, conservative on traditional mattress detail. Where it may catch people out is size: one detailed single-bed experience describes a footprint several inches longer and wider than expected, and the superking configuration is described as two single mattresses rather than one continuous slab.
People with back discomfort, reduced mobility or a habit of reading in bed get the clearest benefit, because the adjustable platform changes posture in a way a normal memory-foam mattress cannot. Sleep quality improves in the positive feedback, with comfort and the remote-controlled elevation doing most of the work; one recent back-pain case links the improvement to the raised upper-body position as much as to the mattress itself, which is important because it limits what the plushtop alone can be expected to solve. Couples need to think carefully. A king or superking gives more usable space, but the split-mattress format that makes adjustment practical also creates bedding complications, especially where Euro-style single sizing and an extra-deep, roughly 30cm pillowtop meet standard UK sheets. The most concrete frustrations are not about softness or support, but ownership logistics: fitted sheets slipping off, expensive trial-and-error bedding purchases, and base clips that were said to drop away and let the two halves separate. Larger room measurements matter too, since the longer footprint can make circulation tight for anyone with mobility issues. For sleepers wanting adjustable positioning, deep cushioning and chair-like relaxation from bed, this is the right call. For shoppers wanting simple UK sheet compatibility, a single-piece sleep surface or less hardware to manage, look at a conventional pocket-sprung divan set instead.

My dear wife of over 50 years had been suffering from back pain for some time and over the years tried various mattresses and pillows to no avail. She decided to opt for this bed as she could adjust the angle of her sleeping position. We opted for a firm mattress as well. It has now been two months and the change has been noticeable. Her back is no longer painful in the morning and she believes it's not only down to the mattress but the elevated position of her upper body. Personally I prefer lying flat. I would add that I recommend a king size.
Very comfortable and grandkids enjoy trying it out!
Excellent bed, comfy and superb sleet. Excellent deliver and installation process.
Absolutely love my new bed, it has made such a difference to my comfort and quality of sleep. One of the best decisions I've ever made. And the service both in store and the delivery team was second to none.
Best bed ever. Comfortable, getting plenty of sleep. Easy to change position to watch TV or read a book. Spending more time in bed relaxing :-)
Extremely comfortable, good instore service and delivery/setup. Very happy with the bed.
Great bed very comfortable. The adjustable top and bottom by remote control brilliant
Excellent bed. Very comfortable. Easily adjustable to find a good position
This is a very comfortable bed. Once you are used to it you'll be glad you bought it. HOWEVER....i got a single size and although the salesman made me aware of the difference in size compared to an ordinary bed, I wish I'd been more diligent when measuring the space available. The bed is about 4 inches longer than standard and also a couple of inches wider. Add the headboard and bed linen to that and it means that in my bedroom I can't actually walk around the bed. To enable me to get to the part of the room where my clothes are I have to roll across the bed and remember to collect everything I need before rolling back. This may sound like fun but I am 85 years of age and have Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoporosis with three fractures on my spine, and several other things which are very painful and restrict movement. So although the bed is comfortable I would definitely advise anyone to measure the space in the bedroom before you buy. Then measure again...and again just be certain.
