About the Tech Latex Motion Adjustable Divan Set Mattress
Last checked
The appeal here is powered repositioning rather than mattress maximalism. As a Tech Latex Motion Adjustable Divan Set, it is best read as a motion base and mattress pairing: the mattress has to flex with the platform, while the divan provides the raising action that changes hip, knee and upper-body angle. A latex element is an honest material choice for that job because it rebounds quickly and resists the slow, body-hugging sink of traditional memory foam, which can make turning and sitting up harder on an adjustable bed. The motion base is the main event. In construction-class terms, this is more specialist than a standard open-coil divan set, but less about the dense layer-stacking and spring-count arms race seen in premium hybrid mattresses; the value lies in articulation, easier posture changes and compatibility with a bendable comfort surface. The firm option also needs a careful read: one buyer who chose it described the feel as nearer medium, so the label sounds less like hard orthopaedic tension and more like controlled support with some give.
Latex resilience and powered elevation point this toward people who struggle to reposition, rise from bed or settle flat through the night. Mobility support is the clearest win. Repeated praise centres on being able to raise the legs or back, use a saved position, sit up more easily in the morning and shift without disturbing a partner; pain-related comments are strongest around hips, shoulders, general aching, reflux and snoring. That customer picture fits the build: an adjustable base changes load through the joints rather than relying solely on mattress softness, while latex-style buoyancy helps movement feel less trapped than on some memory-foam hybrids. Couples with different comfort needs may benefit most where each side can be positioned independently, especially when one sleeper needs elevation and the other mainly wants uninterrupted sleep. The weaker signals are practical rather than comfort-led: cost is flagged even in an otherwise enthusiastic long review, and one poor experience centres on delayed delivery and a headboard-related reschedule, so service timing deserves more attention than the sleep-surface complaints here. The medium-leaning firm feel also makes it a poor match for someone wanting a very hard, flat mattress. For people needing easier repositioning, raised sleeping and help sitting up, this is the right call. For shoppers mainly chasing simple firmness without powered movement, the better place to look is a conventional pocket-sprung or hybrid mattress tier instead.

Traditional flag-stitched handles – robust and secure for easy mattress rotation
Flag-stitched handles are a feature of convenience, ensuring a sturdy grip that simplifies the routine job of rotating your mattress, enhancing its longevity. They indicate dedicated attention to detail, promising a high standard of craftsmanship that undoubtedly extends to the overall design and construction of the sleeping surface.
Made in the UK – exclusively for Bensons for Beds
Crafting within the UK boundaries ensures adherence to strict British manufacturing quality standards, assuring users of unparalleled durability and safety. The exclusivity to Bensons for Beds highlights the unique, customised engineering designed to cater to specific sleep needs not typically met by mass produced items.
Comfort choice – Medium or Firm
Medium comfort choice indicates a beautiful blend of softness and support, suitable for individuals who prefer balanced firmness in a mattress. Opting for Firm represents an ideal selection for those desiring more stability in their resting surface, potentially beneficial for some with specific back or joint concerns.
Soft-touch, stretch knit cover – works in harmony with the springs and fillings to contour to each sleeper's body shape
This soft-touch, stretch knit cover is designed to adapt smoothly to your unique body shape, thus enhancing personal comfort levels. This feature, in tandem with the internal components, creates an optimal sleeping surface that beautifully responds to your body's movements during the night for a restful sleep.
Free 8 year guarantee – for peace of mind
An 8-year guarantee ensures long-term usage without worry of the product failing, which not only optimises investment but also safeguards against unexpected issues. Guaranteed longevity means you can enjoy comfort and support consistently over time, silencing concerns about premature product depreciation.
Hand-held wireless remote control(s) with built in torch – easy to use, adjusts the 4-part motorised frame to find your comfortable position. Complete with two memory buttons to store two bed positions. One remote with 90cm size, 2 remotes with 150cm and 180cm sizes. Each remote requires 2 x AAA batteries (included)
Remote buttons raise separate frame sections and recall saved positions, letting you move from flat to reading or leg-raised without getting up. Battery changes are yours to remember, even with cells supplied.
Reset button – located in the control box, which automatically lowers the bed into the sleeping position
One press sends the raised frame back to a flat sleep position, saving you from holding several controls after reading or watching TV. Keep the control box reachable, because it won't help otherwise.
Boarded Base Action – provides even weight and support distribution for the mattress
Solid platform panels hold the mattress flat across the divan, reducing dips under heavier areas and keeping movement steadier as you change position. Anyone used to sprung edges may find it firmer.
Latex layer – adapts perfectly to your body for resilient, pressure relieving support
Latex compresses under shoulders and hips then rebounds quickly, allowing easier turning while taking some sting out of sharper pressure points. Very warm sleepers may prefer a cooler comfort layer.
Adjust your bed, or use the torch, using the mobile phone App – scan the provided QR code to download the App via Play Store or App Store and follow the simple setup instructions
Phone control moves the adjustable frame and switches on the light from your mobile, letting you change angle without hunting in the dark. Flat phones or app glitches can stop it being convenient.
COOL'IN™ temperature control fabric treatment – helps to regulate body temperature to provide a restful night's sleep
Treated fabric at the sleep surface moves heat and moisture away from your skin, keeping contact with the mattress less clammy during warm spells. It won't replace a cool room or lighter duvet.
Base height – 34cm without glides, 38cm with glides
Glides raise the base from 34cm to 38cm, bringing the mattress surface higher for easier access and adding a little clearance above the floor. Shorter sleepers may prefer the lower setup.
Quilted sleep surface – for extra cushioning comfort
Stitched padding on top adds a soft buffer above the support layers, reducing sharper contact at your shoulders or hips. Deeper quilting can hold warmth or show body impressions sooner.
Remote control pocket(s) – each base includes a handy storage pocket for safe-keeping your remote. One with 90cm size and two with 150cm and 180cm sizes.
Side pocket keeps the handset off the floor and within reach. Single-pocket layouts can be annoying on shared beds, while two pockets only help once the handset goes back after use.
2000 Pocket springs – which adapt individually to body movement, for premium responsive support
Pocket springs respond individually to movement, offering support that adjusts with your body. The adaptive nature may not suit those wanting a consistently firm surface.
4-part motorised adjustable frame – for effortless bed positioning providing better posture, spinal alignment and circulation.
Hinged panels lift under your upper body and legs, letting you sit up or raise your feet without stacking pillows. Motors add weight, cables and another thing to repair.
Emergency Lowering function – in case of a power cut, this function will operate to lower the bed into the sleeping position
During a power cut, the frame can descend to flat, helping you get out or sleep normally until the mains returns. It won't power normal adjustments during an outage.
Free Assembly – All our adjustable beds come with a white glove delivery service to a room of your choice, including the full construction of your bed.
Delivery crew carry the parts into the bedroom and build the frame, sparing you the lifting and tool work. Tight stairs can stop the job unless access is clear.
Overall bed height – 66cm without glides, 70cm with glides
Glides lift the divan from 66cm to 70cm, raising the mattress edge and reducing the bend as you get in. Shorter users may find their feet dangling at the edge.
Mattress height – 32cm
Taller sides raise the sleep surface on the bed base and can help you get in and out with less bend. Deep fitted sheets may sit tight at the corners.
Encapsulated edge support – reinforced edge support, for added durability, reduces roll-off, and optimises the sleep surface all the way to the edge of the mattress
Firmer border around the mattress perimeter helps the sides compress less when you sit or lie near them. Edge sitting can dip more than the centre.

This bed is amazing. I used to wake up aching , I now wake up feeling refreshed. It's honestly so comfortable and so big I never want to leave it. The best decision we've ever made investing in this bed.
Delighted with my bed, it has made such a difference to my life, I can move with ease instead of struggling
Oh my goodness, this had made bedtime and sleep so much better. I am able to reposition and move in bed without waking up the hubby. The positions are so comfortable and help me to sit up on a morning so I can easily get out of bed. We tried this bed in the shop and Bensons delivered the same quality. Highly recommended, although somewhat expensive, you get the quality, guarantee and a great nights sleep. With raising my husband's side approx 6 inches, he's stopped snoring. So a win win from us both
great service great product dont expect anything eles great company
Absolutely brilliant. Went for the firm mattress which I think is really a medium. Being able to raise your legs or body to a comfortable position and use the memory button is a great feature. Excellent service from the store manger David at Cwmbran couldn't have done anymore for us. Very knowledgeable about the bed and which headboards. All round very happy.
The bed is fantastic we have good night sleep on it
Fantastic bed I have back issues and knee problems I now have a good night sleep with this bed so comfy wish I had bought one years ago.I love how I can adjust top and bottom of the bed to suit my need Definitely recommend
We love this adjustable bed. Please do note though that you will require extra long and extra deep bedding if you buy it.
Lovely comfortable bed. The pocket on the frame of the bed for the controls is not fixed onto the frame so keeps falling off, it looks as if it should have a velcro strip on the frame but there isn't one. Doesn't affect the bed at all so it's just a niggle.
Fantastic made such a difference to my sleep and acid reflux
We love the bed. The mattresses do creep apart and we don't know how to stop it but love the adjustable independence.
Moth my wife and I have shoulder and hip problems. Laying on my side put pressure onto the joints, to the extent that I couldn't get to sleep. I spent many night sleeping in a reclining chair. We decided to take a look at the adjustable beds. EUREKA! I think that the question, Do you like your bed., doesn't fit the bill. It's so so comfortable. I can honestly say that it's the best bed I've ever owned, or slept in.
