About the Pure Embrace Pillowtop Mattress
Last checked
A 3,750-spring king-size build puts the Pure Embrace well above the conventional 1,000-pocket mattress class, but the count needs reading properly: the support comes from the Advanced Cortec Quad pocket-spring unit, while the 1,000 Posturfil springs and 2,000 micro springs are there to refine pressure relief nearer the surface. That matters. Micro springs are not a substitute for deeper steel support, yet in a 28cm pillowtop mattress they make practical sense because they let the top section compress more closely around shoulders, hips and knees without relying on synthetic foam. The wool, hemp and flax filling package is generous for a pocket-sprung pillowtop, and unusual against the memory-foam hybrid tier, where cooling claims often come from gel foams rather than genuinely breathable fibres. The wool-and-viscose cover, hand-tufting and two rows of side stitching point to a traditional, labour-heavy build rather than a boxed-mattress recipe; the side stitching is the more useful detail, because it should help the edges feel less collapsible when sitting or sleeping near the border. It is no-turn, so the pillowtop stays uppermost, but regular rotation still matters because natural fillings settle under body weight and the maker openly treats some indentation as normal.
The clearest fit is for sleepers who want a cushioned top but still need a controlled, spring-led feel underneath, especially in the firm tension that several owners describe as supportive rather than squashy. Couples get a sensible spec on paper: independent pocket springs should limit partner disturbance better than open-coil mattresses, and the dual-tension option in king and super king sizes is useful where body weights or firmness preferences differ. Buyers repeatedly praise the comfort and support, with several describing better, less interrupted sleep, and one recent owner specifically connects the natural filling package with staying cooler through the night. The smell is the risk. A recurring complaint is a strong farmyard-style odour that lasted for weeks rather than clearing after airing, which directly clashes with the care guidance suggesting a short four-hour airing period; for odour-sensitive households, the customer evidence is more important than the brochure reassurance. One lower-rated owner also found the mattress too hard and heavy to live with, so lighter side sleepers or anyone expecting a plush hotel sink may be better steered towards a softer pillowtop or a foam-topped hybrid. Best suited to buyers who value natural fibres, firm spring support and edge structure; poor match for anyone sensitive to wool or farm-like smells, or for sleepers wanting a lighter, softer mattress in the mainstream boxed-mattress tier.

Mattress type: Pocket spring.
Requires turning: No.
Mattress care: Air for 4 hours before using to remove any odour. Allow at least 4 hours for springs to settle and for mattress to attain its full size. Indentations caused by settlement of fillings or body weight are normal and are not considered defects. If used on a slatted bed frame, the space between slats must be no wider than 7.5 cm. Spaces wider than this may cause excess dipping of the mattress and invalidate the guarantee. Always use a mattress protector. Rotate regularly.

Amazing mattress. Extremely comfortable and supportive. Also keeps you cool too, so easier to maintain temperature for comfort remaining all night long. The only negative is the smell… it was explained throughout the sales process how Harrison Spinks mattresses are hand made on the farm the materials are sourced from and the smell would go after airing, but it does last quite a number of weeks, despite it being left in a ventilated room unused for a week beforehand. The whole Furniture Village experience was great, from entering store to delivery. Cannot fault it.
The mattress cover was good and did not make you feel hot and sweaty
Very comfortable. Quality manufacture. Very happy with purchase.
Our new king size mattress was delivered three weeks ago and we are delighted with the level of comfort and support provided. We decided to order the firmer tension and this provides great support while the pillow top is very comfortable. The mattress is very well made from natural materials and we look forward to a good nights sleep for years to come. Highly recommended.
Lovely well made mattress. Excellent side wall support. We have for a couple of weeks now & the smell of the sheep wool is now subsiding. I have a bad back & find this mattress very supportive. Its much harder & not as comfortable as the one in the shop but hopefully will get softer in time. Something we failed to consider.
Really happy with our new mattress. Would recommend to others.
Well made mattress. Not sure about the topping. Starting to become a bit uneven already despite turning it weekly which I would like to add is very heavy.
Following the purchase my partner and I have enjoyed full uninterrupted nights of sleep. We should have changed our mattress ages ago!
Super comfy mattress, good support with out losing softness and a cosy feel.
The product was of top quality the sale person was very knowledgeable and helpful
The ability to have two different levels of formed in one bed was what won us over. It's brilliant.
Its a bit to hard for us wish we would of have picked medium spring ..its a could quality mattress just hoping we can adapt to it
Love our new mattress. It's so supportive and comfy. Glad we chose the medium firmness as we'd normally go for firmness, but this particular make seems to be a bit firmer so medium is perfect. Feels luxurious.
Just fabulous! We changed from Vi Sprung to Harrison Spinks as needed to replace our mattress. Supportive, sumptuous and so very comfortable. Definitely having a great nights sleep. The furniture village buying and delivery experience all good.
