About the Diamond Hybrid Deluxe Mattress
Last checked
A 29cm boxed hybrid sits behind the Diamond Hybrid Deluxe: pocket springs under visco-elastic Diamond Cool foam with graphite particles, medium-soft HRXComfort foam and HRXSupport foam. The listed firmness is medium. In practice, the build is doing two jobs at once: the springs take the vertical load and help the mattress recover, while the foams create the slower, cushioned surface feel associated with memory-foam hybrids rather than traditional pocket-sprung mattresses. The cooling story is unusually prominent for this class, with a removable PolarLuxe-style cover, graphite in the comfort foam and a cover mix of 80% polyester, 19% polyethylene and 1% elastane that can be washed at 40°C. That is more technical than a standard polyester quilted cover, though still a man-made sleep surface rather than a wool, cotton or latex comfort stack. The spec is generous on aftercare claims - no turning, regular rotation, 20-year guarantee - but honest about settlement and about slatted bases needing gaps no wider than 7.5cm. That slat rule matters. Wider gaps can make a foam-heavy hybrid dip between supports, so the base underneath is part of the performance.
The foam-over-spring construction suits buyers who want cushioned first contact without the loose bounce of an open-coil mattress, and the strongest owner signal is simple: people moving from older pocket-sprung beds describe better sleep and quick adjustment, often after one night. Several also describe the feel as firmer than the medium label suggests, so the customer evidence leans towards a medium-firm sensation rather than a soft, sink-in mattress; one lower-rating owner found it too soft and said bedding shifted, but that is the outlier against a broader pattern of supportive comfort. Boxed delivery is convenient, but expansion is a small pain point: buyers mention needing to let it settle, and one mixed review says two days was more realistic than the short settling guidance. Hot sleepers have a credible reason to consider it, because graphite foam and a polyethylene-rich cover are both aligned with heat dispersal, although foam hybrids still hug more than latex or traditional sprung builds. Couples with similar comfort preferences should be well served by the pocket-spring layer’s weight distribution, but very different body weights may expose the usual hybrid compromise: the lighter partner may feel the firmer foam stack more, while the heavier partner may compress into the support foams sooner. Best suited to back and side sleepers wanting a cooler-feeling, boxed hybrid with a cushioned but not plush surface; buyers wanting a very soft mattress, or the springier response of a traditional pocket-sprung model with natural fillings, are better directed to those construction classes instead.

Specifications

Firmness: Medium.
Requires turning: No.
Mattress care: Air for 4 hours before using to remove any odour. Allow at least 4 hours for springs to settle and for mattress to attain its full size. Indentations caused by settlement of fillings or body weight are normal and are not considered defects. If used on a slatted bed frame, the space between slats must be no wider than 7.5 cm. Spaces wider than this may cause excess dipping of the mattress and invalidate the guarantee. Always use a mattress protector. Rotate regularly.

Checked reviews online, visited store and chose this mattress. Was very surprised when delivered as was in a small box, but once removed and left to settle and expand into its shape, we have to say that its the best mattress that we've ever purchased. It may seem soft but isn't the case. We both sleep far better than before and can highly recommend it, it works for us and hopefully will work for you too. Its expensive but is worth it.
Expensive but I have not slept on a better mattress ever
No more sleepless nights I feel like Im sleeping on a cloud
We bought an Emma diamond hybrid deluxe mattress from Furniture Village in Rugby. It arrived as scheduled and the delivery crew installed it carefully. It only took one night to get used to - it replaced a 20 year old pocket spring mattress. We have slept well on it ever since and are very pleased with the mattress and the service provide by Furniture Village.
A wonderfully firm and deep mattress that holds its shape and supports the body exactly where needed. Does not bounce overly even though its base is sprung. Would definitely recommend.
Super comfortable and we love going to bed every night
Comfortable and supportive. Early days yet, but good so far.
Service was very good and the bed is comfortable but there are some resevations
Quite a nice mattress, takes a while to fully expand from packaging (2 days realistically). Also, fairly firm.
Absolutly great. Great night sleep night after night and the staff were very helpfull. Thanks
Very pleased with our diamond mattress. It arrived right on time and was very easy to undo from its box. We have it in our guest room and so far all our guests have found it very comfortable. It is a little on the firmer side so we will add a memory foam topper to it. I would definitely recommend it as a firm favourite of the more popular brands.
