About the Veron End Lift Ottoman Bed Frame

Last checked

Buyers looking at the Veron are being asked to prioritise upholstered presence and lift-up storage over a bare-bones metal or simple wooden bedstead. It is an end-lift ottoman frame, sold in double, king and super king, with a tall cushioned headboard that runs to the floor and uses simple vertical fluting rather than buttoning or wings. The main support is a ventilated platform top, not a sprung-slat set, and that is the important construction call here: compared with many slatted ottoman frames, a platform deck is the sturdier, more uniform mattress support, especially for heavier modern mattresses. The quoted mattress limits - 50kg on double, 65kg on king and 70kg on super king - are practical figures rather than decorative small print, because the gas-lift mechanism has to raise the mattress as well as the deck. That matters. The hydraulic end lift and safety bar put it in the convenience-led ottoman class, while hidden hardwood feet give the frame a floating look that softens the bulk of a large upholstered base. The spec reads strongest above the storage cavity: upholstered headboard, platform support, assisted lift.

In a room where cupboard space is tight, the Veron’s end-lift layout makes most sense for bedding, seasonal clothes and spare pillows, and buyers repeatedly praise the amount of usable space, the smart appearance and the solid-feeling mattress platform. The positive owner pattern matches the spec: a platform top feels more reassuring than flexible slats, and several owners describe the frame as well made once assembled, with the super king noted as large without visually swallowing the room. But the storage promise needs a caveat. A recurring complaint is that the base of the storage area is fabric rather than a solid boarded floor, so items effectively sit on the bedroom floor under a dust cloth; that directly undercuts the manufacturer’s broad “spacious storage” framing for anyone expecting a boxed-in ottoman compartment. There is also a smaller practical niggle that the top may not stay closed without a mattress in place, which is logical given the gas-lift weight limits but still catches some buyers out. Style-wise, this sits in the contemporary upholstered register rather than the traditional wooden bedstead camp, and it will pair best with a mattress comfortably within the stated weight bands rather than an unusually heavy luxury build. Buy it for a dressed, hotel-style frame with easy end access and a supportive platform deck; for enclosed, board-bottom storage or heavy-duty stowing, a drawer divan or an ottoman with a proper boarded storage floor is the safer category to compare.

Bought the super king as wanted lots of room and its is some big bed but does not overwhelm the road. Too early to review its ease of use or longevity but it is smart and looks lovely and gives good mattress support

Good quality item, well put together by good installers. This is the 4th Ottoman we've had and all are great strong beds. The solid mattress platform is a really good point, rather than the wood lats used on others.

The quality, style etc all is good. However, it was a big shock when it was delivered and assembled by delivery person and we found out that base of bed is fabric instead of wood or some solid board. Possibly it is normal but we saw this for first time in life and that also for such an expensive bed that was £800+ original cost. Rest all was good.

Good value for money as a spare bed. Storage is excellent, although the top won't stay shut when the mattress is not on it.
