About the Pure Indulgence Mattress with Removable Mattress Topper

Buyers considering this as a mattress-plus-topper package are really looking at a layered pocket-sprung bed rather than a simple add-on comfort pad. The main mattress is 27cm deep and uses 16,000 pocket springs in king size, made up of the Advanced Cortec Revolution Quad unit plus double layers of 2,500 and 5,000 high-density micro springs, with a detachable topper adding a further 1,000 Posturfil pocket springs in king size. That is an unusually spring-heavy specification for a natural-filled pocket-sprung mattress; compared with standard pocket-sprung builds that rely on one main spring unit and fibre padding, this is engineered more around stacked response layers than sheer foam cushioning. The fillings stay firmly in the natural-material lane: British wool, hemp, flax, cotton and mohair in the mattress, with wool, hemp and flax in the topper. The wool-and-viscose blend cover is also notable because its fire resistance comes through the wool blend rather than a chemical treatment. That matters. The hand-tufting and three rows of hand-side stitching point to a traditional, labour-intensive build, while the seasonal-turn design is honest about upkeep: this is not a leave-it-alone mattress, and the manufacturer’s warning about normal filling settlement should be taken seriously.

A removable 1,000-spring topper changes the fit more than a sewn-on pillow top because it gives owners a softer comfort layer that can be taken off if the mattress alone feels better. Comfort is the clearest owner signal: buyers repeatedly describe strong pressure relief, good weight distribution and a more settled back, with one longer account specifically valuing the low-bounce feel of the pocket-sprung construction. The natural fillings also explain some of that response, because wool, hemp and flax tend to cushion without the slow sink of memory foam hybrids, although anyone expecting a flat, odour-free synthetic finish may be surprised by the sheep-like wool smell mentioned by one early owner. There are practical caveats. The super king is described as difficult to manoeuvre upstairs, and the 27cm depth plus detachable topper means fitted-sheet depth and bed access need checking before purchase, especially on higher divans or frames. The slat guidance is also strict: gaps wider than 7.5cm risk excess dipping, so thinly spaced slatted bases are a poor partner for this construction. Medium and firm options, plus dual tension in king and super king, make it most persuasive for couples who want natural fillings and pocket-spring support without much bounce; buyers wanting a low-maintenance, non-turn mattress or a lighter roll-packed feel are better served by simpler foam hybrids or lower-depth pocket-sprung models.

Specifications

Manufacturer specifications without the jargon, easy to scan and compare.

Mattress type: Pocket spring.

Mattress care: Air for 4 hours before using to remove any odour. Allow at least 4 hours for springs to settle and for mattress to attain its full size. Indentations caused by settlement of fillings or body weight are normal and are not considered defects. If used on a slatted bed frame, the space between slats must be no wider than 7.5 cm. Spaces wider than this may cause excess dipping of the mattress and invalidate the guarantee. Always use a mattress protector. Rotate regularly.

Love my new mattress my back feels good for the first time in years! It does smell a bit of sheep as it's all natural products and they use wool from their own farm but that will go but even if it didn't I'm sleeping really well I've been looking for a comfortable mattress for a long time and this is it!

Just purchased my first Harrison Spinks mattress and it's wonderful. I was looking to purchase another Vispring in store but I needed a no bounce mattress and this is perfect. At super king size it's huge but the delivery guys managed to get it up the stairwell, just!! The mattress is deep, beautifully made and very comfortable. I bought it with the removable topper to offer a choice in comfort and so far the mattress on it's own is just right. If you are looking for a good well supported sleep on a pocket sprung mattress this is an excellent choice and I would highly recommend Harrison Spinks for quality and workmanship.
