This mattress is made by Flaxby, a British brand that specialises in using natural and sustainable materials to create high-quality mattresses that are good for you and the environment. The Flaxby Nature's Finest 11150 DNAir Mattress is one of their premium models, featuring an impressive 11,150 pocket springs that provide excellent support and comfort for your body.
The pocket springs are divided into two layers: a base layer of 10,000 small springs that contour to your shape and distribute your weight evenly, and a top layer of 1,150 larger springs that add extra bounce and responsiveness. The pocket springs also allow air to circulate freely through the mattress, keeping it fresh and cool.
But what makes this mattress truly stand out is its natural fillings. The entire package has four layers of natural fibres that create a soft and breathable sleeping surface. These include:
Egyptian cotton: This is one of the finest types of cotton in the world, known for its long and silky strands that make it durable and smooth. Egyptian cotton also has excellent moisture-wicking properties, meaning it can absorb sweat and keep you dry throughout the night.
Wool: This is a natural insulator that can regulate your body temperature according to the season. Wool can keep you warm in winter and cool in summer by trapping or releasing heat as needed. Wool also has antibacterial and anti-dust mite qualities that make it hygienic and allergy-friendly.
Mohair: This is a type of wool derived from Angora goats that have curly hair with a high lustre. Mohair is very soft and fluffy, adding an extra layer of comfort to the mattress. Mohair also has good elasticity and resilience, meaning it can bounce back to its original shape after being compressed.
Hemp: This is a plant-based fibre that is eco-friendly and sustainable. Hemp grows fast without needing much water or pesticides, making it an ideal material for green mattresses. Hemp also has strong fibres that are resistant to moulds, mildews, bacteria and fungi.
The combination of these natural fillings makes the Flaxby DNAir Mattress very comfortable
and healthy to sleep on. You can enjoy the benefits of nature without compromising on quality or performance.
The Flaxby Nature's Finest Mattress comes in two firmness options: soft or medium. I tried both versions
and here are my thoughts:
Soft: This option is ideal for side sleepers who need more pressure relief for their hips and shoulders. The soft version feels very plush and cosy, like sleeping on a cloud. However, if you prefer more support or have back problems, you might find this option too soft for your liking.
Medium: This option is suitable for back sleepers who need more spinal alignment and support for their lower back. The medium version feels more balanced and supportive than the soft one, but still offers enough cushioning for comfort. However, if you are a stomach sleeper or like a firmer feel, you might find this option too soft as well.
Personally, I preferred the medium version as I felt it gave me more support without being too hard or uncomfortable. I slept very well on this mattress and woke up feeling refreshed and relaxed. The only downside I found with this mattress was its price
and availability. The Flaxby Nature's Finest 11150 DNAir Mattress is not cheap, costing between £1,499 and £2,999 depending on the size you choose. This might be out of budget for some people who are looking for an affordable mattress. Also, this mattress has quite a long lead time, meaning you might have to wait up to six weeks before it gets delivered. This might be inconvenient if you need a new mattress urgently.
However, if you can afford it and don't mind waiting, I think this mattress is worth every penny. It offers exceptional quality, comfort and durability that will last you for many years to come and is worthy of consideration.
