About the Silvia Bed Frame
Last checked
Grey woven fabric and a square-stitched headboard give the Bensons for Beds Silvia the look of a simple contemporary upholstered bed frame, with the non-ottoman double version described as a low, compact bedstead rather than a storage base. This is a visually light bed. The construction mentioned most often is a sprung wooden slat base sitting in plastic holders, with a centre support bar and slim upholstered side sections; for an upholstered frame of this type, that is a conservative support package, nearer to entry-level bedsteads than platform-top divans or heavier ottoman frames. The low deck reduces bulk in a small room and helps the headboard avoid dominating the space, but it also means little useful clearance beneath the mattress and a sitting height that several people found much lower than expected. Assembly feedback is mostly favourable, with the instructions described as straightforward and one-person assembly possible on smaller setups, although larger sizes sound easier with two people. The design therefore leans more towards neat styling and a small footprint than heavy-duty structure, and the slat system is the part that has to earn trust once a full mattress and two sleepers are on it.
In a box room, spare bedroom or low-ceilinged modern scheme, the Silvia’s compact stance and grey woven finish land well, and repeated praise centres on the tidy appearance, easy build and the way it suits rooms where a taller upholstered frame would look bulky. The low height is the recurring shock. Several experiences describe the bed as far closer to the floor than expected, with getting on and off becoming awkward; the issue will be sharper for taller adults, anyone with stiff knees, or a main bedroom where the bed is used every night rather than occasionally. Support feedback is more divided: lighter use in a spare room attracts steadier comments, while poor scores mention weak slats, broken plastic slat holders, mattress dipping at the sides, rocking movement and creaking near the headboard. The positive comfort comments tend to involve the mattress and the ventilated feel of sprung slats, which fits the construction, but the frame itself attracts concern when loaded by two adults over time. It suits a style-led spare-room buyer, a child’s room, or a small double setup where low height is acceptable; anyone needing a taller, quieter everyday frame for two adults should consider a platform-top divan, a metal frame with stronger centre support, or a higher-grade upholstered bedstead.

Lovely frame. A lot lower than I thought it would be.
Didn't realise when I bought it that it was only 2ft off the floor to top of mattress, very hard to get on and off. Also managed to break 4 of the plastic slat holders, I did send that in but had no reply. Mattress is comfortable
Gorgeous bed frame and looks great, bought the small double for my sons room and it's very sturdy and well made, def worth the money. Looks more expensive than it was especially as I got it on sale.. I also bought the bedside cabinet to match and it sets it off lovely, wish I'd bought the king size for our room and hoping it goes back into the sale.
Bought a bed from bensons for granddaughter who lives with us saw advertisement online quality is very good very strong and was quite easy to build and very good price as well would recommend bensons for quality beds
Good value at a reasonable price, very comfortable and love the high head rest. Delivered on time with good communication from delivery men. Easy to assemble - done by my 2 teenage granddaughters!
Easy to assemble and sturdy. Looks great in the room and for the price it's perfect.
Excellent product and service. I will use this company again
Bed was very easy to put together and looks great in our spare room.
Very good bed frame for our spare room. Price reduced, good value for money. Would recommend paying Benson for Beds a visit.
Great price but most importantly so easy to put together. We all normally fall out trying to make furniture! As described. Just not this is quite low to the floor, so check your measurements. Recommended
Although this bed was easy to put together, and seems fairly firm, I'm really disappointed with the colour. The colour of the fabric on line is the main reason I purchased this bed. It is a dull darker nothing like the on line picture shows.
Lovely bed. Just as pictured. It is a bit low hence the 4 stars, but that's not too much of a problem for my daughter. Quick delivery and easy to fit.
I ordered this bed , for my daughter's box room it's a perfect fit . Bensons were friendly and constantly contacting with me regarding delivery details. Impressed with the build quality , build instructions and general design of bed.
Lovely! My daughter loves her new bed! Sturdy, easy to put up and looks great!
Great price, Staff were very helpful in explaining how to build the bed.
Great bed. Easy to assemble and sturdy. Perfect comfortable bedfor my daughter.
I love my new bed it looks so expensive but was really resonably priced x
Lovely bed frame fits in my bedroom a treat well assembled
Easy to put together looks more expensive than it was and feels sturdy enough very happy
bought two for my daughters, very easy and quick to assemble. They look lovely too. They are very low to the floor, but no complaints from my daughters who are 10 and 15.
