About the Soren Wooden Bed Frame

Last checked

Solid ash, plywood and a natural oak finish give the Soren a more furniture-led build than the average fabric-wrapped bed frame, with the soft upholstered headboard doing the visual work at the pillow end. This is a mixed-material frame, not plain upholstery. The solid ash and wooden legs are the stronger part of the spec, while plywood in the structure is an on-tier compromise rather than a flaw; against fully upholstered particleboard frames, this reads as a more credible mid-range construction, but it is not a full solid-hardwood bedstead. The velvet-touch headboard also shifts it away from a stripped-back Scandi frame and towards a warmer, hotel-style register, especially in the taupe and mustard-style finishes mentioned in feedback. The useful design call is the open, low-bulk foot end: one detailed account liked being able to sit at the end of the bed without a rail getting in the way, which is a practical advantage for taller people and tighter walkways. The manufacturer’s stability language rests on the ash, plywood and wooden-leg frame, rather than on any heavyweight centre-rail specification, and that distinction becomes important in the owner feedback.

The Soren makes most sense where the bed has to soften a room visually without becoming a bulky storage base: the oak-effect frame keeps the outline lighter, while the padded headboard gives somewhere more comfortable to sit up than a plain wooden board. The look is the main draw. Positive reviews repeatedly describe the finish as stylish, plush and easy to assemble, with several saying it felt sturdy once built and suited smaller or more carefully styled bedrooms; the colour, however, is not always experienced as the website imagery suggests, with more than one account finding tones darker in real life. Support is where the praise becomes less consistent: lower-rated reviews focus on slats spanning too far, limited centre support on larger sizes and movement that made even a firm mattress feel softer or bouncier than intended, so the “sturdy frame” claim should be read as frame-material confidence rather than a guarantee of firm, quiet mattress support. A damaged delivery experience appears in the low ratings too, but the repeated functional complaint is slat behaviour, not packaging. For style-led bedrooms needing an easy-to-assemble wooden frame with a padded headboard, this is the right call. For heavier couples or anyone trying to keep a firm mattress feeling firm, look at centre-rail-reinforced wooden frames instead.

Solid wooden slatted base - offers firm mattress support

A solid wooden slatted base provides excellent stability, ensuring durability and support for the mattress over time. This feature enhances the longevity of the mattress by promoting better air circulation, which prevents moisture buildup and supports a comfortable night's sleep.

Painted wooden finish - classic wood grain enhanced with colour

Painted wood keeps the natural grain visible while adding a coloured look, which suits bedrooms that want warmth without a plain timber finish. Fine, expect paint to show chips and scratches sooner than an untreated surface, so it may need touch-ups if knocked.

Streamlined low rise design - designed for contemporary living

The streamlined low rise design saves space and gives a modern appearance that complements a range of interior styles. It offers ease of accessibility and understated elegance, enhancing the functionality and look of any bedroom.

Highly durable woven fabric - for life-proof comfort and timeless style

The woven fabric enhances longevity and maintains aesthetics, ensuring peace of mind with regard to wear over time. It combines functionality with classic design, providing comfort that fits seamlessly into diverse décor themes.

Contemporary panelled design - incorporates style into any space

Great quality bed, I was able to assemble it myself (5”5 female) by using a small box to help me hold the beam in place. Have had it for 1 month now no complaints. The back is lovely and soft, the wood smells nice and is a lovely colour.

The bed is good, but the mustard headboard colour is more of a mid brown colour. I ordered the tester swatch for free after purchasing to check, and it does match the swatch, so if you're thinking of purchasing then definitely get the free swatch first. The only other complaint is how over engineered the bed frame fittings are - it was quite fiddly to build - but once built it does feel quite strong

After my old bed got on my nerves as at the end of the bed was a wooden bar going across that first I kept stumping my toes on during the night (I'm tall) and preventing you sitting on the end of the bed. I finally gotten around to replacing it and this bed works a treat. It just means now I can sit anywhere around the bed, and the headrest means the pillow doesn't get stuffed down either as the bedrest prevents it. Very pleased I bought it. Although one small questionable detail. The long length bars when attached the the headboard feels like the alignment is off as it's angled. I'll share a picture to show what I mean. It is on both sides so unsure if it is designed this way.

I am very happy with our new super king bed frame. Delivered by super helpful drivers who brought it upstairs for us with no issues. The bed was easy to assembly with enclosed instructions. It is sturdy and well made. We went for the more expensive bed slats and they make a difference. Well worth the extra cost.

A very nice bed frame, colours of the headboard are a little darker than appear on the photos but a lovely neutral grey/taupe colour. The frame is easy to build yourself, very sturdy and comfortable! The space under the bed is big, but the gap to slide in the under bed storage is very small (only 16cm tall), it has been very difficult to find any storage boxes under the 16cm needed to easily slide them under and out! But otherwise very happy with my purchase!

Great quality and build. Lovely bed frame and is perfect for my space! Light taupe colour head board and oak frame, both look lighter in the images than in real life. I went to check in-store before I purchased - I would advise to do that.

Great bed frame, unfortunately on delivery and installation a couple of bolts were missing and the installation guys forgot to report it. I had to phone the store and make a complaint. The sales lady was very apologetic. I also received a call from a customer service chap both were very helpful and the missing parts arrived the following day. I just have to wait a few more days for the missing parts to be fitted. I am very pleased that action, once reported, has been great.
