Pros and Cons

We compile assessments, instructions, and product appraisals to assist you in understanding the perspectives of others regarding the product.

This mattress has been handmade with natural cotton, wool, and hemp fillings. These materials are not only sustainable but provide a good balance of comfort and support. They also have the added benefit of being temperature regulating and anti-bacterial.

With a combination of DNAir and Cortec pocket springs, the mattress offers well-distributed support to the entire body. The 4450 pocket springs help in relieving pressure points and prevent motion transfer, making it suitable for those sharing the bed.

The availability of soft or medium comfort grades caters to different sleep preferences. It seems especially beneficial for those dealing with particular ailments or happen to sleep on their side.

Despite the natural materials meant to regulate temperature, some customers report the mattress retaining heat, especially in warmer months. This could be a potential concern for hot sleepers.

The pillow top may take some time to settle and adapt to the body's shape.

The premium nature of the mattress puts it at a higher price point, which could be a barrier for some buyers.

Amelia's Thoughts On The Flaxby Natures Finest 4450 Pillow Top Mattress

Hi there, welcome to my blog where I share my honest opinions on various products that I have tried and tested. Today, I'm going to review the Flaxby Nature's Finest 4450 Pillow Top Mattress from Dreams, which is a luxury mattress made with natural materials and handcrafted in the UK by Harrison Spinks. I've been sleeping on this mattress for about two months now, and here are my thoughts on it.

First of all, let me tell you what makes this mattress special. It has 4450 pocket springs that are individually wrapped and respond to your body's movements and pressure points. This means that you get excellent support and comfort no matter how you sleep. The springs are also zoned into different areas to provide more support where you need it most, such as your hips and shoulders.

The mattress also has a pillow top layer that adds an extra layer of softness and cushioning. The pillow top is filled with natural cotton, wool and hemp fibres that are breathable, moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating. These fibres help you stay cool in summer and warm in winter, as well as keeping your mattress fresh and hygienic. The pillow top is also hand-tufted with wool tufts to secure the fillings in place and prevent them from shifting or clumping.

The mattress is covered with a luxurious Egyptian cotton fabric that is soft to the touch and durable. The fabric is also treated with an anti-allergen solution that protects against dust mites, bacteria and fungi. The mattress has two rows of side stitching for extra edge support and stability, as well as four handles for easy turning.

So how does it feel to sleep on this mattress? Well, I have to say that it's one of the most comfortable mattresses I've ever slept on. It's medium-firm in feel, which suits me perfectly as I'm a side sleeper who likes a bit of give but not too much sinkage. The mattress conforms to my body shape without making me feel trapped or overheated. The pillow top adds a nice plushness without compromising the support underneath.

The mattress also isolates motion very well, so I don't disturb my partner when I toss and turn at night. It's also very quiet when I move around on it, unlike some other spring mattresses that can be noisy or squeaky.

The only downside of this mattress is that it's quite heavy (around 50 kg for a double size) and thick (around 35 cm), so you might need some help lifting or moving it around. You also need a deep fitted sheet to cover it properly.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the Flaxby Nature's Finest 4450 Pillow Top Mattress from Dreams. It's a high-quality product that delivers on its promises of comfort, support and natural materials. It's not cheap (around £1,500 for a double size), but it's worth every penny if you're looking for a luxurious sleeping experience.

Reasons To Buy

Specifications direct from the retailer that you will love.

Comes with our 40-Night Sleep Guarantee

Exclusive to Dreams products comes the 40-night sleep guarantee, available on all mattresses bought online through their retail channel. The 40-night guarantee allows you to exchange your new mattress in the event you do not find it suitable or comfortable. The benefit of this is that you get the best of both worlds with the convenience of buying online, but the luxury of being able to determine suitability in your own space. There are caveats around collection and delivery costs and minimum usage requirements, all of which are easy to meet and help give additional confidence while buying online.

Has a soft or medium comfort grade

Medium tension mattresses are generally regarded as a one-size-fits-all approach to support. This means that the average weighted person that sleeps on their back, stomach or side will typically find the support offered within this type of mattress to be suitable. Heavier people should perhaps consider a slightly firmer mattress, as should those looking for further support than standard.

    5-year guarantee

A 5 year guarantee is longer than the industry standard and gives confidence that both the supplier and retailer have confidence in the product they sell. After all, if it goes wrong through a manufacturing defect in this time, they will be the ones on the hook! Sleep soundly with the confidence that you will not be left out of pocket through this period. A win for the consumer.

Rotate Regularly - Rotate head to toe weekly for the first three months, then every month thereafter

You should rotate your mattress so that you get the most out of it. You'll still be sleeping on the same surface, but you'll have a much more comfortable sleep because your body will be in a proper alignment as springs fillings and more have the opportunity to unsettle and prevent any dips or divots that would otherwise occur, causing potential discomfort.

100% recyclable Cortec pocket spring unit

The Cortec 100% recyclable pocket spring unit is an innovative new product that combines quality and sustainability. It's made of 100% recyclable material, so you can be assured it will perform well as a support layer within the mattress. Compared to traditional coils, it gives more support and durability.

    4 Handles

With handles on all four sides, rotating your mattress is easier than ever. Rotation can help restore the softness of your mattress, as well as the quality of sleep you get.You might think handles are unnecessary, but just try moving a heavy and clunky mattress without them, I promise you, it's a pain.

2 rows of hand side stitching

Hand side stitching is manual work done against a mattress to help attach the panel to the inner springs of the mattress. Doing so helps ensure that the outer cover of the product is fully bound to the support layer within. This helps give the mattress an enhanced support around the edge.

Rest easy with a 5-year guarantee

A 5 Year Guarantee is toward the upper end for the industry. giving you a huge amount of confidence in the product while showing just how much belief the manufacturer and retailer have that you won't have issues during the products lifecycle. Typical guarantees are 1 year.

Traditionally hand tufted for secure alignment and two rows of side stitching for superior edge support

Hand tufting is a great feature as it helps secure the fillings inside helping to promote even settlement while ensuring all fillings remain consistent. The result of hand tufting is a slightly firmer feel combined with great consistently across the entire mattress.
